Well. I can't say that any of this mess was part of my original plan, but it's all working out so beautifully I can't complain.
— Tarvek Sturmvoraus, Girl Genius
The evening was as normal as it usually was, or so Suri thought as she made her normal rounds throughout the town and poking her nose into places. As she held her cloak above her head as the rain poured down she made her way into her home, however the house was too still for her liking. Normally, even into the dead of night it'd have some sort of chatter so this set the snake on edge before a scent caught her nose. The faint sound of giggling upstairs caught her off guard as well as the sound of Sera speaking.
The slizzar began to make her way up the stairs cautiously, holding her pet duck within her hands after picking her up from the couch. As she made the ascent up she carefully peeked into the study area of the house and saw the fairy elf sitting upon the desk in the study. However what was odd to her was the fact that Sera was looking rather conflicted and tensely stood in front of the fireplace that was in the study.
"Sera, it's simple. Your wife doesn't love you as much as you do her. She didn't even bat an eye seeing your...current state."
"Shut up, you're lying."
"No, I'm right and you know I am."
"I…"
"And I thought I was a slippery snake." The words flew from her mouth as she finally stepped into the room, her feet falls silent against the floor. The hate and annoyed filled glare from the Maraya was clear enough that she had intruded on something she shouldn't have. But when would the snake care? Probably never. Suri knew that she had surprised them both due to the fact how Sera whirled around to look at the slizzar who she had adopted into her close friend group and family.
"Suri, go on to bed-"
"Ah ah ah! No I don't think so. <E> Sera, she now knows of your plan to leave your wife. She'll tell Catalina lies that I am trying to get you two split up. Get rid of her."
"<E> No, I refuse."
"<E> Fine, then I'll do it."
"What the void did you say you-"That was all that could escape the snakes mouth before the elegant creature had moved forward rather quickly to send a punch to her throat causing the snake to fall back with a choking sound. The avanthar watched, frozen in front of the fireplace as she watched her friend fall to the ground gripping her neck as she struggled to breathe.
Before Sera could move from her frozen state the Maraya had grabbed Suri by her arm and dragged her out of the room and down the hall. By the time Sera snapped out of her fear induced state it was from the sound of the snakes screams and then pained sobbing. As she quickly moved to figure out what was going on she stopped in the doorway when the sickeningly sweet voice spoke out to her.
"Stay there Sera, the snake was just using you anyway. I'll handle her, go on to bed."
Sera would stare on for a few moments, shocked before shakily doing as she was told, the sight of the now partially shifted slizzar along with the blood dripping down Suri's face.
"I don't take kindly to snakes snooping their nose where it doesn't belong. It looks like I have to take care of you personally just as I did to Sera…"
Before the snake could question her the toe area of the boot Miira wore had snapped into the snakes rib cage, causing her to let out a pained wheeze. As the next few moments flew by into a struggle on the ground it ended with Miira on top of Suri, squeezing at her neck the oncoming bruising to show as the snake struggled to breathe. After a few hissing sentences the Maraya let go of the snakes neck once she was sure that the other was too winded to fight back.
Suri laid on the ground, fading in and out of consciousness before the sharp pain of something sliding across her tail snapped her into a pained scream before a boot to the head had knocked her unconscious.
