Character Information
Full Name: Tristan Kade (Born: Tristano Maledetto Lampero de Vultaro)
Race: Regal Ailor
Age: 40
Gender: Male
Affinity: Arkenborn

Core Concept
  • Tristan is, in many, ways a man whose existence is marred by paradox; protective yet tragic, dutiful yet comfortable, and even his life's purpose as an Imperial Guard stands contrary to his nature as a Silven son of the Pride Arken. Tristan has suffered, and in his suffering has learned that he has to be the devoted protector of what he cares for, or it can all be lost. But this penchant for tragedy need not be all gloom and grief, to him, and he seeks joy in the most genuine fashions he can, in connections to his most dearly loved people, and an appreciation for service, devotion, and comfort.
Appearance Information
  • With golden eyes and golden hair, Tristan stands at a monstrous size of 6'11 out of armor, 7'2 in armor, thanks to his Silven genetics, as well as his Imperial Guard training. His skin is pale from his life spent in his suit of heavy armor, but under his helmet, he bears strong features and stern eyes set into a serious gaze. The Arkenborn's physique is hyper-muscular.

Life Story (Required)
  • Childhood: Tristan was born in the Duchy of Vultaro. His 'father' Duke Thaddeo Lampero, upon realizing his son was Silven, instantly grew to hate him and forbade him from being within his sight, or even from speaking Dressolini. It was only by his mother's insistence that he remained within the estate at all.
  • Adolescence: Tristan developed a rebellious attitude, which eventually grew until he would be sent to study at the School of Feer-Drakken. But the young man saw this as a blessing; he was finally able to escape his father's abuse and excelled in this fighting style.
  • Early Adulthood: As Tristan grew tall and physically strong, and his swordsmanship developed, he caught the attention of the Imperial Palace Scouts. He was put through rigorous and brutal training until he eventually was molded into an Imperial Guard.
  • Advanced Years: Tristan served as an Imperial Guard for nearly a decade, until calamity struck the house of Lampero in Vultaro. As nearly all of his family was wiped out, he was sent to be the Duke of his family's lands. With unregulated freedom, he fell into a life of such blatant hedonism that eventually he was cast out by his own people. But this would lead him back to the Imperial Guard and luckily the Emperor took pity (or saw an opportunity) and allowed his return. Following this, after redeeming himself with difficult tasks, he was arranged to marry Titular Princess Leah Kade, in exchange for his family's wealth and lands. His life would not be peaceful, marred by conflict with his paternal Arken, and with his own struggles as a father and husband, but it has left him now with the ability to focus on what matters most: his family, and his duty as an Imperial Guard.
  • Childhood: Tristan was born in the Duchy of Vultaro, to the great Duke Thaddeo Lampero - or so he had hoped. When the man first laid eyes upon Tristan, hoping to see his likeness, he only found wide demonic, golden eyes staring up at him. With luck, despite his initial desire to send or kill the child, his wife managed to convince him into keeping the child and raising it as his own. Unfortunately, this decision would come to spell utter ruin for House Lampero, at least - for Thaddeo's bloodline. Tristan's upbringing was anything but pleasant. The child was shunned by Thaddeo, who refused to do anything more but provide food for Tristan, and made it a rule that the Silven was never allowed within eyesight of the Duke, nor be allowed to speak Dressolini in general.
  • Adolescence: Tristan had grown up without much socialization and education, aside from his time spent with a loving, but distant mother and siblings. Teenagehood brought with him a rebellious attitude, where he desperately acted out so that Thaddeo might pay attention to him. And eventually, he got what he wanted. Or so he thought. Thaddeo, over the years, had not lost his hatred for Tristan, so the tale of a father finally loving his son never came to be - Instead, Tristan was met with abuse, until eventually, he gave up on seeking Thaddeo's attention. It wasn't long after, that Tristan sought freedom away from his prison. He begged his mother to send him away and finally, the mother saw that it was the right thing to do. Thaddeo gave his blessings, the first time that he ever smiled at Tristan, as the Silven left his estate and traveled to train at the School of Feer-Drakken. Finally, the Duke was rid of that miserable freak.
  • Early adulthood: Years passed and Tristan had grown tall and strong. The Silven was blessed with strong genes and this aided him with becoming the best fighter he could possibly be. Tristan was never one for books, but when it came to fighting - he was a formidable opponent. Size wasn't everything and so the giant learned everything he could on how to be a better swordsman. One day, the unthinkable happened, as Palace Scouts came by. They took notice of Tristan's size, his family name, and his skills. Before long, he was undergoing training to become an Imperial Guard. The young man would be subjected to drilling and indoctrination for years to come, tortured and broken, until he became something else entirely. Finally, he stood as an Imperial Guard.
  • Advanced years: Tristan served as an Imperial Guard for close to a decade until sudden and disastrous news was carried to him. Undead had shambled out of the mountains nearby Thaddeo's estate. A mineshaft, long since closed off, had been reopened for surveying and inside of it the dead had risen - or so it was reported. Unfortunately, Thaddeo and many guardsmen and Lampero had met their end, overwhelmed by the sheer numbers that filed out towards the Lampero estate, that watched over the harbor of Lampeport. Emperor Justinian II, having suffered a similar loss amongst his family, put Tristan's service to an end and sent him home to Vultaro, where he would become the next Duke Lampero. Unfortunately, the freedom quickly went to Tristan's head. The Duke was a glutton for it. He threw extravagant parties, wasted money witlessly, and fell into a deep hole of hedonism. Every thing he had learned, as an Imerial Guard, all of his discipline and restraint, was tossed aside the moment he had the ability to govern his life himself. And eventually, after great loss of life and wealth within his duchy, the people rose up against him. Tristan was chased from his lands, forced to flee through a tunnel with no belongings aside from the head of his own statue, unwilling to leave it due to his own pride. The Lampero returned to the capital, with his tail between his legs, and his Duchy a rebellious state ungovernable. With luck, and pity, the new Emperor took Tristan back into service of the Imperial Guard and he began his training once more. Eventually, the Lampero redeemed himself, at least in the eyes of his overlords, and he was allowed to marry the titualar princess Leah Kade, in exchange for the wealth of Vultaro, signed over to the Kade's. They had what they wanted and Tristan had the chance at a new life: With a new wife, and eventually even a few children. Everything seemed to be going well, until the Pride Arken arrived. For years, the Pride Arken and Tristan shared a terrible, toxic, and confusing relationship. The man had revealed himself to be Tristan's true father and the Silven was unable to resist his own curiosity, even with his Imperial training. Turmoil, pain, and suffering was Tristan's teacher, for years, until one day Pride ceased to be, at least in the form Tristan had known him as. Their adventures and struggles came to an end and Tristan moved on, properly settling down with Leah. Retiring was never in the cards for Tristan, not fully, but it seemed right to finally focus on what mattered most: His family and his duty as an Imperial Guard, after all the years of trial and error.

I will be reviewing this application.

  • I think more people would take note of the fact that Tristan looks like a bastard. Maybe play off a rocky relationship with his siblings? Maybe make him a mother's boy? Maybe the servants didn't treat him like his brothers? You should expand more how this affected his childhood, and how perhaps it was the cause of his claustrophobic and sometimes anxiety attack like behavior with verbal attacks against him

  • Authoritarian seems a bad personality trait to pick because tristan has repeatedly shown that he is not is completely incapable of setting himself into an authoritarian situation. The way the description works, it's better to identify Tristan as a follower, or submissive individual.

  • Cautiousness on the part of tristan conflicts with his courageous and generally following attitude. If he does as he is told, if he charges in with his two hander, he is not being cautious, he is rather being impulsive. I've never experienced Tristan as much of a thinker, so an impulsive personality trait would probably fit better.

  • Obnoxious behavior as a dislike is difficult to distinguish or specify. You should be very specific about what kinds of behavior in others he finds annoying, aside from loud and boisterous.

  • The act of mining is something tristan likely would have never done. You could replace his distaste for the tedious activity of mining with his claustrophobic nature.

  • I don't believe Temperance is a strength Tristan would have. In line with earlier suggesting that Tristan is a rather impulsive individual, it's more likely that his strength would be decisiveness, for what little situations he actually resides in where he has to make a decision for himself. It doesn't necessarily even have to be making decisions, but rather that he is able to follow orders or go through with a plan without much second thought or hesitation that could normally threaten the proper execution.

  • I would expand on "easy to abuse verbally" by adding that Tristan will occasionally become stressed from verbal attacks on himself. This would explain the outbursts and further compliment on the idea that Tristan is an idealist that tries to do the good thing, but in doing so makes mistakes and beats himself up for it.

  • I would replace Tristan's ranged weakness with an innate clumsiness. A fighter always has a weakness to ranged attacks, though if you lay more emphasis on his clumsiness, it would focus on the idea that Tristan due to his size can not move very elegantly or quickly, thus also being susceptible to fast nimble fighters and ranged attacks.

Basic info edit (Added in slightly more info about the bastard part, anxiety, and claustrophobia.)
  • Born to Thaddeus Lamperouge (Assumed) and Audrey Lamperouge on October 8th, 272 AC, in the Duchy of Vultaro. His real father was a family guardsman. When he was 12, the Lamperouge Estate was beset upon by Undead miners that had been trapped in the mines of Vultaro. After the night had passed, five Lamperouge were dead and Thaddeus soon followed after a few days from wound infection. Thaddeus had been close to discovering the real father of Tristan, but when he died the rest of the family gave up the trail of the real father. Though, they continued to treat him poorly; it was fairly obvious that he was a bastard but they kept it a secret to save the family name. His brothers were the only one that ever treated Tristan as if he were family. Aunts, uncles, even the servants all hated him. All of this lead to him having anxiety issues and developing claustrophobia when being social.

Personality Traits (Changed Authoritarian to Follower and Cautious to Reckless)

  • Follower: Like an obedient dog, Tristan listens and carries out his superiors orders without hesitation. He is far more comfortable following the orders of his Commander Cedric, or any other of the royal blood line. Should he be put in a position of power, Tristan will usually feel clueless and aimless in his goals.

  • Reckless:Tristan often goes rushing into a situation without proper knowledge and understanding, usually throwing himself into combat without thinking of the repercussions. His first instinct is to fight or oppose any sign of danger and will usually take some persuasion to stop him from doing so.

The Dislikes (Changed Obnoxious behavior to disrespect)

  • Disrespect: Tristan despises rude people who go out of their way to inconvenience him or others. When speaking to somebody, he expects the same respect given to him that he would show them and he doesn't tolerate disrespect shown towards his superiors by citizens or nobles. Should the disrespect be shown towards him by a peasant, he has no issue reminding them of their place. Nobles are different stories, he usually just grinds his teeth and attempts to ignore it depending on their status.

  • Being Social/Small Spaces: Rather claustrophobic and socially anxious, Tristan prefers to be outside, or in an empty room. He can be somewhat paranoid around people and finds it difficult to do his job when peasants crowd together. Social events give people the chance to speak to Tristan, which usually leads to them reminding him of past troubles.

Strengths and Weaknesses (Changed Temperance to Resolute and Ranged combat to Innate Clumsiness)

  • Resolute: Tristan's whole purpose is to fulfill his oaths and carry out his duties efficiently. When given an order by a superior, or faced with a decision that he has to make on his own, he will be quick-thinking and firm in his choice of action.

  • Easy to abuse verbally: Due to Tristan's history, the Imperial Guard is easy to poke fun at. While generally trying to ignore the insults, Tristan grows tried of them and actually becomes quite stressed from time to time. During these moments, Tristan will lash out verbally, sometimes physically if the person doesn't matter. He's never enjoyed having his past mistakes shoved in his face repeatedly, especially when he was just trying to do good.

  • Innate Clumsiness: Due to his enormous size, Tristan can be found often making clumsy mistakes on and off the battle-field. Sometimes it proves for a difficult job, especially due to his armor weighing him down. He moves slowly and has major trouble against nimble and ranged fighters.
