Spoiler: Backstory Childhood - 0-13 Triss was born in the naval port of Algassäi to the Loyalty Arken, presenting as a Lanlath, and Kressila (Mother, Isldar) Aduril in 263 AC. Her adoptive father, Arton, soon came into the picture as her father moved on. She spent her time running about the city with her older sister, Kalarel, whenever she could get out of sight of her parents with her cousins. When finally caught and sat down in a chair, Triss studied whatever her mother put in front of her, but she never really enjoyed it. What she did enjoy was watching the garrison of her town spar and train. She and her friends would take to sparring back alleyways (in a much less elegant manor). Her mother was not pleased when Triss would come home with bruises from being hit with sticks, but Triss absolutely loved it. Her father, a well-respected boat designer often contracted by naval officials, suggested dropping her into the hands of a family friend and navy admiral, who could teach her how not to get hit instead while also putting her on track to enlist in the city's navy. While not the solution her mother was looking for, Triss was eager and her begging was enough to get her mother to agree. Teens to Early Twenties - 13-24 Triss spent the next few years studying in the city’s naval academy. She quickly found herself thoroughly loving the experience, excelling in her military studies. The same was true when it came time to crew a ship, then later to begin learning officer roles. At 18, she graduated from the academy and formally enlisted in the Algassäi navy as an officer in the fleet. Although rarely actually mobilized, she enjoyed her time warding off pirates and Dread Empire scouts. Her performance was noted by her mentor as the years went by. A recommendation was submitted for her to captain her own vessel after a few years of successful service. At 24 years old, the recommendation was approved and she stepped foot onto her own warship. Adulthood - 25-46 Triss spent the next two decades serving faithfully in the navy, though time had eventually run its course, and the hyperactive Half-Isldar was, frankly, bored. As she turned 45, she met with her Admiral-mentor to discuss going abroad to expand her experiences due to Ilha Faial's lack of action in global events. He begrudgingly agreed, knowing that debating Triss was futile when her mind was set. With that, she took a leave of absence from her fleet and made ready to make way to Regalia. As she explained her plans to her parents, her father decided it was a perfect time to unveil a gift he had been working on for her success thus far - her own yacht. She soon after set sail for Regalia where many new adventures lay in wait.
