The events of late afternoon in the capital of the Regalian Empire echoed quickly across the Archipelago. There were many rumors, whispers, and naysayers about the events, but the State issued a firm statement many felt could be trusted.

Today, the faith re-education camp known as Fort Loyalty was attacked when three of its worst offenders were to be executed. Before the proceedings could go forward, a dragon descended to attack the Fort. The guards present fought bravely to protect their charges but during the ensuing blaze, both guard and prisoner alike perished. There were severe damage to the fort in the attack, but thanks to the brave efforts of the Guard Chapters present most of the charges were able to successfully escape. The Dragon then circled the city, spitting fire onto a few roofs, some of which caught fire. The Dragon appeared to then head back out from which it came, due west. Guard charters throughout the city are working valiantly to defend the people and most likely caused it to shy away from any further attacks. The Dragon that attacked the Holy City this day will be hunted down. The method in which it escaped the extinction of its brethren is not known but will be found out, along with any other remaining members of its species. In addition, the Faith Pogrom is finished and non-Unionists are allowed to walk the streets unimpeded.

Common facts the State excluded from its message to the Empire was that all clinics near the walls and even into the heart of the city were flooded with people suffering minor to severe burns, shock, and difficulty breathing. Another fact was that Anglian citizens had been frantically spreading the word that the dragon cited was a Feathered Dragon, one of their great and ancient protectors. This news prompted a rumble across the city and the Archipelago as such creatures, while almost worshiped by the Anglians, were viewed with distaste and fear. Additionally, the Hinterlandic Ravens that plagued the air above the city remained, despite the fact that the dragon had caused devastation and panic in the Holy City. Thus, an eerie calm settled over the city, tense with fear as smoke slowly rose up into the clouds and the birds watched on.

At the news, Gee'lia laughed, a grin spreading from ear to ear "Yes! Yes my bothers! Bring havoc to the city and show those Ailors us dragons will /never/ die! WE LIVE ON! Aha..Ahah..AAHAHHAHAH!"

    she's insane.
    she thinks she's a dragon.

Neu wheezed as she paced her home, eyes wide in an evident conflict of emotions. She still hadn’t calmed after fleeing Fort Loyalty, and after searching the city to ensure the great yet terrifying beast was gone, had returned home, conversing with herself over the traumatic yet exciting experience.
Beasts- Dragons!— Isn’t it convenient that- thing, attacked the place us outcasts were being held first. Was-...Was that thing on our side? This-I need to study this immediately...

Imanshi oversaw the shadow of the great beast as it passed overhead her home. She had been on her balcony when it passed into the city and withdrew, both from the west and to the west. She had been giddy with joy at the thought of dragons escaping extinction. Perhaps there was still a chance others had survived as well. She had heard the theories, read the history, and seen paintings but never had something like this occurred. Why did it attack? Why was it drawn to where Fort Loyalty lay? What changes had it endured over the years? With these thoughts in mind she gathered her books about her. It was going to be a loooong day of research.

Velencia had always been a witness to strange events, but this, this was something else. With panic in her eyes and the worst thoughts at heart she had sprinted from her home into the snow, spotting the fire the dragon had caused to some of the rooftops overhead. She ran to her sister's bakery, seeing it was one of the buildings near others whom had been attacked. With a shout, she had called for her sister as soon as she stepped inside, running over to grasp her in a tight embrace, seeing she was alright. Pulling away she looked her sister straight in the eyes, still holding tight to her at an arm's length away.
"We've been attacked.... by a dragon.

Juliette sat besides the cradle in the corner of the loft room of the Safeguard's building. To her knowledge, the others in the room- the other Wodenstaffs- were sleeping soundly, but she had retreated from bed to sit besides her slumbering daughter should she wake from nightmare. So as the first night away from home, the first night spent within Regalia's walls in a long time passed, she could only just recall her reckless adventure through every street of the city under the arm of her close friend, searching for all those in need. She recalled her stupid decision to step off the balcony for a dare, breaking her arm. She recalled all those events, even the ones that seemed eons ago before the attack of the Dragon.

So as the young woman sat on the floor in her night dress, sling keeping her right arm in place, a small smile rose from her. So many had been injured today, so many had died. So many risks. So much fear and confusion. But despite it all, there stood one thing in her mind.
That they had all been lucky enough to survive.

Dunfeld sat there with his small glass of whiskey, pondering the idea of dragons. this could only mean bad tidings...
"Heh, maybe I could get a dragon for myself no? It would certainly generate a lot of coin... And i'd run the slums.. Heh Hehh!"

Lazaruz Lupenzi recalled the previous day... It'd gone by so quickly it was just like a bad nightmare.. But, his wounds were still engulfing him and he knew no longer to simply deny it. He'd been one of the first to see the beast fly over head, to see the Bastion reduced to rubble..
He'd continue to think and think; far from an answer..

Seraphina leaned slightly upon the balcony that over looked the sea. Her head twitched slightly at the sound of the roar, the crackling of flames. Peering out and up towards the sky’s, she squinted as the creature itself flew over head. “HONEY WHERE’S MY UNIFORM?” She yelled as she pulled her head back in and made a beeline for the stairs to the third floor landing where the bedrooms were.

Darcie hovered slightly on the cusp of a group of tavern goers, glass of wine held in her right hand. The woman listened intently before draining the last of the drink and moving off, clear motive in her step. Her destination was only hers to know, but wherever she was going, it was surely important. “I just hope he’s alright. That damned fool.” She muttered.

Sylvia gazed into the sky as she heard the large bellowing roar, it only taking a moment for her eyes to meet from wence the loud sound came. Upon spotting what had produced the sound, she froze and her zweihander slipped from her very hands, making a ringing clang as it hit the muddy stone path. She had seen Wyverns before and had no issue with them; however, she had never seen a fire spitting, scale armored beast such as the one that currently reigned terror upon the city. She just stood there for a moment experiencing a feeling she hadn't quite felt in a long while as a stubborn Velheimer. Fear. The only word that she could produce in her unmoving state was, "D-Dragon..."

There were two courses of action for Hank to take after a dragon attack:

Plan A: Hang a large white banner with 'We surrunder!' outside her window.

Plan B: Cook up enough poison to kill a herd of elephants and keep it ready-to-launch if that thing ever came back.

Unfortunately both were prohibited by her landlord. @ContestedSnow

The Reverend sat silently in a seat which stood in the Sancella's "Refuge" of the Mercenary Keep. The elderly Ailor brought a clutched fist towards his mouth, releasing a violent fit of coughing. He sat in thought after his coughing rested. Aelfric, through all the decades he was alive, never saw something such as that. He was curious, cautious, and afraid. He worried for the lives of the good Unionists, the Holy City, the Archipelago, His Imperial Holliness once he returned, and the war that raged on against Rie. The Reverend was angered most of all. The Feathered Dragon was supposed to be a protector, his stubborn Anglian heart stating over and over that it was a different race of a Dragon, while his mind, his sight said otherwise. The old man called over his Anglian Shepard, the dog moving forward obediently. Aelfric stroked the Shepard's fur, uttering a few words under his breath, "Spirit Protect us."

Itty turned in his pod. He dreamt of dragons and fire and ancient, forgotten things, and it made him smile.

Agustin de Cantaine was, thankfully, not in the city centre when the dragon showed up. He did hear the thunderous roar, the crashes and perhaps a scream or two from the attack, but when he stepped outside he couldn't see anything around, and he didn't spot the dragon over the skyline. Instead of venturing into the city, he distracted himself by going up to his room, and watering his orchid.

Alphonse Renalts was at the fort when the strike ensued, and after it had gone he was still reeling from the aftershock. He desperately searched the city for his sisters, thankfully finding them, burned but alive in a burrow in the city Park.
He took them home to rest, the three spent the entire day together, he had to calm them somehow.

Irina Haagenvig was at her loom when it occurred, the strike on the city distracted her from her work and put her in a foul mood. The moment she looked up a burning ball of fire burst through her window, which she immediately attempted to douse.
Succeeding, she ran outside, and began shouting angered obscenities at the perpetrator, before realising what did it. She stared silently, before beginning to shout obscenities at it again.
"Fockin'... I'm going to need to learn construction."

Otto Bergmann was stupefied, how has a Dragon survived? “First, the slaughter of men on the Elven Front, then a losing war, and now a Dragon. Is this the test our Empire must endure? Will we continue or perish? Damn it all, The Emperor will set things right!” Again, his faith and loyalty was tested, and again he clung to it, for what else is there but despair?

Far from the Holy City, in the icy wastes and frozen forests of Jorrhildr, a pale green Yanar with snowy hair would be seen hobbling through the snow with a guilt-stricken and horrified look on his face.

"I knew I shouldn't have left... I knew they'd find her eventually. Oh, Spirit help me, I'm a fool."

And so, with terror in his heart, Alak'aer Iethos sailed, limped, and rode his way back to Regalia to face what he perceived as his worst nightmare.

    The dragons.

    His past.

Lena d'Vaud has spent an entire day in the library, doing research on dragons. Reading every text, cover to back, she learned. She read children's stories, legends, history texts, anything that had the word dragon or mentioned one in it.

Azir received word quickly from a courier about the news of dragons and was excited, quickly rushing to the nearest boat, and booking passage to Regalia. It was time to put his knowledge of dragons and their history to work, and help the people combat this coming threat.

Howell buried his face in his hands, and unusual look of dismay fell upon his face. The event were only getting worse and worse, and it had crossed his mind to flee to somewhere nice. Maybe Ithania... But he had to stay here. There was people to take care of. His tongue adopting a foreign language, all he could manage was to whisper (translated)"May Estel shed her light on us once more".

Oliver read over the statement, sitting across the bar with a fruity cocktail in one hand, soon enough he tore one of many statements that were issued by the state and crumpled it up into a ball. "A giant lizard sprays fire over your city and the government first course of action is to write this?"

"Just think how much money I could make. Capture that thing, stick it in a cage, maybe put a little hat on it. Charge fifty Regals a pop just to look at it. Maybe another hundred to poke it with a stick. I wonder if R&D have anything capable of stunning a creature of that size."

When the dragon descended on Fort Loyalty, Jaren had to make a choice: follow Ralof and defend the right to religion, or trail Hadvar and join the legion so he could cut down the rebellious Stormcloaks.
