The Unlucky Play

Sitting in a booth, minding their business on a fateful eve sat three people. Two Shendar, Mori and Retrisa, an Ailor, Addie, and a Maraya, Lemoran. They drunk deep on the fine wines and the fine beverages of the Slum Tavern, laughing and cheering before being approached by the finely dressed man...if you could even call him such. He had crooked horns like that of some gnarled tree, skin as black as darkness, and a third eye, constantly jittering around, as if searching for something that might never come. The vilitatei made his greetings to the one he knew first, Lemoran, offering him respite from the cold air and a sip of his warm tea, before extending the offer to the others and revealing his name to them. The former Avanthar's name was Eldrich Osborn, and he was so happy to meet them all, seeming genuine with his smile, and his greetings.

After making his acquaintance and the group then deciding to come with him for some delectable tea, he began leading the group to the old abandoned tower, which he called home, but to him he called it The Collection. As they clambered up the half rotten ladder they learned quickly why it got that name. It was full of items, from piles of regals, to piles of old armour and weaponry, all polished to a pristine condition, even if it did gather slight rust. There was alchemical ingredients, paintings, fine clothing, you name it! He seemed to have an endless supply of random goods and such, but the biggest supply was of fireworks, with many resting carefully in the corners of the room, just waiting to be lit on the right occasion. He hung up his finely crafted cloak and begun brewing tea, allowing for the others to take a seat. They chatted, laughed and went deep into the night, sipping their tea once it was ready. Eldrich after a while went to sleep.

As the time passed whilst the creature slumbered the group begun to bicker. Lemoran had never been one for contact with other people, and as the rest of his group begun to attempt to touch his ears a fight broke out. There was a lot of tumbling and breaking of goods and that is when the creature reawoke to see his well placed collection in a state of disrepair. He hissed with anger, leaping at the group and, whilst they focused on the other members of their group he slammed them down, and knocked them out, but for Addie, whom he slammed his sword into, watching the blood trickle from her leg before quickly cleaning the area and pushing her out, so he could begin his true purpose and what he truly wanted from the group. The tea was drugged either way so it would be a good amount of time to tie them up and begin dressing them in the...proper clothing for the show he seeked to put on. As they awoke, they felt the tightness of rope, and the bright colours of their new uniforms. Eldrich explained in his hissing voice that they were to put on a play, handing them over a old black book reading "Of Kade and of Ravenstad" in big red letters. Lemoran was now dressed in the clothing a Kade might wear, fine and well crafted. Retrisa was dressed in a finely crafted dress, similar to that which a Ravenstad might wear, and Mori wearing something akin to what the Vigilant Shield once wore years before. Lemoran asked quickly barked at him, demanding that he and his friends were to be "Freed from the infernal ropes which now bound them together." also remarking that "We will never do your stupid play!" however that was met with a mean right hook to their face, and a threaten from Eldrich, saying "If you do not play the parts you will die! Just like the ones before you." before removing a fine silk off a small area in one of the corners revealing the rotten corpses and bones of other members who, too, wore similar clothing to what the group wore. They had been mutilated and the musky smell wafted through the air, yet Eldrich quickly placed the cloth over it again, turning back, and barking for them to "Begin!" and the duo, awkwardly then having to go through the love scene together.

Whilst the play went underway Addie had fetched her sister, Ryuu, and the duo began the trek back to The Collection, in order to free her friends from the confines of this psychotic monster. They trudged over the wall and stealthily clambered into the building, eyeing the area and watching from the shadows, looking for anything they could use to stop this crazed lunatic before he ended up killing them. Ryuu smirked, spotting the bow and arrows next one of the walls. Addie, in a panic, quickly rushed to grab the bow before Eldrich recoiled in fear, backing up to the corner with the loads of fireworks, quickly rummaging in his pockets! His play was becoming a disaster! As Eldrich paniced, Mori quickly removed the knife he had kept from his back pocket, beginning to slice into the rope and free himself, before Lemoran then, too, used his strength to snap the ropes binding him, quickly slamming Eldrich closer to the fireworks as he lit a match. Eldrich reached out for the torch on the wall to light it before this, but the slam caused the match to land on a fuse of one of the fireworks behind him...the firework then firing off and exploding at Ryuu's feet, the timbers beginning to catch alight, and a burn sliding up Ryuu's legs.

Quickly the group begun attempting to scramble through the falling debre and parts of his collection as they toppled onto them and in their path, scrambling to the door, flames burning harder and embers beginning to be sent to the fireworks which a, now injured, Eldrich lay upon...a few more fuses now being lit. Lemoran came back for Eldrich however, grabbing his collar and dragging him out of the pile of fireworks and launching him downward onto a pile of clothes. As the group, one by one, dived from the wreckage it exploded, causing more and more parts and collectables flying into the air, as an aray of colours burned into the night sky, and burned the old tower down. However, The Collection was not the only thing burned up in the confusion, with the last few being caught in the blast and being burned, such as Ryuu, Retrisa, and Addie, with Ryuu taking the brunt of the flames, further burning her flesh away. As they landed Lemoran then heard a snap as his arm broke from the fall, causing him to scream in pain, though the group quickly came to his aid, working to put his arm into a sling using some scrap cloth to quickly make a sling and begin tending to Ryuu's burns as well. Eldrich lay still in shock.

As the minutes passed the group then lay there, looking at the flames as they tended to their wounds, Eldrich kneeling there at the front, a sword landing at his knees from the wreckage. He then turned to them, beginning to scream in anger at the group for them ruining his home, drawing the sword and beginning to point it at them, threateningly, before Mori begun rushing him with his dagger, going to swing it at him, before Eldrich brought his blade upwards for his face, dashing a deep scar across his face, sending him tumbling to the floor. Eldrich laughed, beginning to run at Ryuu next before little Addie, leapt at him in rage, jamming a dagger over and over into his back, sending him toppling backwards in a panic to get her off, underneath the tower, knife still embedded into his back, throwing her back to the group, growling as he slowly stood up again beginning to approach when the building collapsed on top of the vilitatei, crushing him under the ruins, a few more items toppling down as well with his death.

As dawn reached over the horizon wounds were healed and items were collected by the group before heading off, the scars still visible on their bodies. Mori, now sporting a scar across his face remained after the group had left, grabbing a warhammer from the wreckage and the fine, unfinished script from the play, giving the rubble which crushed the vilitatei one last look before heading off to see how the rest of the group were doing.
