The Start Of Something New.

Some music to set the mood.

In her cozy little Regalian home, Eve sat on her couch, staring longingly at the piece of jewelry that now sat on her left ring finger. Her eyes misted over slightly as she reminisced on her past-- trying her best to not let it overcome her in her time of celebration. Sighing deeply, she stood to her feet, idly running the digits of her right hand along the oak wood of the table before walking by, smiling faintly as her fingertips brushed over the rough texture. Her footfalls echoed in the empty house as she wandered on through, her mind not currently tethered to the present. She could faintly hear the yipping sounds of her hound, Aurelia, but Eve paid them no mind, instead choosing to ascend the staircase to her bedroom. Her slate blue eyes darted about, staring at the walls she had come to know so well from her short time living there, almost reminding her of her home on Eriu-Innis, and before she knew it, she had stepped into her room, nearly bumping into her bed. The room seemed almost empty, and she felt a twinge of sadness as she glanced at the dent on the bed Audric had left.

Her lips parted, and she sat on the edge of the bed, going to stare at the ring he had placed there earlier. She still could not believe that she was to be wed once more, and though she should be ecstatic, she could not stop the corners of her lips from turning to a frown. A stray, angry thought bubbled to the surface, gasping for air-- grasping for her attention and before she knew it, she could feel a tear roll down her cheek and onto the mattress below. How could someone truly so perfect in her eyes love someone as broken and torn as her? She raised her hands to her lips, feeling her breath slip out like a prayer against her fingers, and closed her eyes, silently begging the bad thoughts to disappear. To counteract them, Eve began to recall the past few months she had spent with Audric, letting them bathe her in their warm, nostalgic caress. As she laid on the bed, her hands clasped tightly over her heart, going to close her eyes… and let the show begin.

The first memory she recalled-- was their ride to the beach. How happy she was to feel free. To feel the wind in her hair as she, Audric, and his beautiful war horse Albert, raced down the hill towards that sunkissed shoreline. She recalled the smell of the sea, the sounds of the waves as they hugged the sands, the radiant sun as it set behind the deep blue ocean. Laying there, she could almost feel the sand beneath her, letting the warmth envelop her, and she could feel the water dance below. Of course, Audric had gone off to swim, and Eve didn't mind. She took that time to herself, letting all her stress melt away as the waves whisked away at her feet. When her back had been turned, Audric had decided to come up behind her and scare her by poking at the small of her back. She quickly turned around to chide him, but the action was stopped dead in its tracks as he pulled her into a captivating kiss-- their first. The memory faded away after that, and it all washed over her as if the water itself were cleansing her of her impurities-- making her one with the dark abyss that rested below. Eve watched it all fade to black, and just like the waves, they receded into the sunset to be remembered another day.

The darkness didn't last long though, for another sweet echo from the recent past came to mind and pushed its way to the forefront, causing the woman to crack a smile. It was of their first dinner together. A minuscule thing to others, but it meant all the world to her. The imagery played out in her head as if it were happening right then and there, and an alluring smile flourished on her plump lips. There they stood in the kitchen of her home. Audric rested his beefy, athletic body against the wall, his blue eyes watching her as she danced her lithe body around the room, gathering the ingredients to whip up a delectable dinner for the pair. All at once, the smell of chicken permeated the area, which wasn't too hard of a task, given the fact that the room was so small. As Eve worked at their food, she began to hum a lullaby in Eriunnach, a haunting tune that her mother sang to her as a young child back in their cottage in Silledimmach. The mesmerizing song began to swell, and a small tear ran down Eve's cheek, but she paid it no mind. The food had finished, and she went to plate it, as everyone would when ready to eat, but-- she had been stopped by the sudden appearance of her sweet baby, Aurelia. The pure white dog had rushed out of her bedroom, down a flight of stairs to greet her master and her new "friend", curiously sniffling at Audric. Seeing her two favorites together made a grin tickle at the corner of her lips, and while Aurelia was distracted, she whipped a bowl together full of scraps, whistled through her teeth, and put the dish on the ground, watching the living embodiment of a cloud rush over to devour the food. Taking that time to escape, Eve had grabbed their plates and made her way towards the dining room, knowing that Audric was in tow. They ate there, mostly in silence, just enjoying each other's company.

Once more, the scene faded to its end, and as it disappeared out of view, the Eriunin woman's eyes snapped open, bringing herself back into the present. During the flashbacks, her right hand had somehow wandered over to her left, her fingers gently brushing up against the band that circled her ring finger, causing her to faintly smile once more. She was so caught up in staring at it that she hadn't heard the first few knocks on her front door, and only really snapped back to reality when she heard footsteps on the stairs. Looking up, she was greeted by the sight of her darling one-- her Audric. Eve jumped to her feet and half sprinted over to him, going to pull him into a tight embrace, staying there for several, long moments. When she moved away, her left hand had crept up to rest on his cheek, her fingertips smoothly gliding across his stubbly skin. Staring down at her, Audric smiled lovingly at his bride to be and placed a loving kiss on her forehead-- a gesture that had become quite common between the two. "meine Blume. Are you alright?" He had noticed the tear stains on her cheeks, and with a reassuring smile, Eve traced her thumb over the outline of his lips. "Oui, mon soleil. I was just recalling a few memories. Nothing to worry yourself over." She replied in a soothing tone, her thumb continuing to idly brush over his face. Satisfied with that answer, Audric moved his head in close and kissed her deeply, their lips colliding.

She was finally loved once more, and truthfully, that resonated within her on a deeper level-- one that she couldn't comprehend at the moment, and one that she didn't care to divulge in for the time being. She wanted to focus on the here and now, not letting herself be affected by the past any longer. She had something new, something that no one could take from her ever again.

It was her chance to start over, and it was finally her time to fully live a life without a single regret.
