Information
The Sorenvik Venture Company has always been unofficially established vicariously through House Sorenvik, but has only recently been officially established through the joint work of Brynjar and Kaya Sorenvik. The SVC, as it is abbreviated, is responsible for the passage of ships and goods safely through the Sorenvik lands and to the Regalian House of Trade, before those ships are then sent to the city and all throughout the Archipelago. Though it started with a measly trade skiff selling fish caught by the Sorenviks themselves, the SVC has grown into a multi-stage organization that handles a good percentage of the trade goods in and out of Sorenvik lands. Not only does it handle shipping the goods, but it also does things such as specialty orders and offering vessels to other organizations for cheaper fees, as well as procuring many things such as furs, fish, and other products native to Fohrborg.
Today, the Sorenvik Venture Company has expanded even further to have a place of operations in Regalia itself. It has expanded to offer shipping for multiple companies that struggle with high fees imposed by other merchanting companies. Because the Sorenviks directly control the ships, they are free to impose lower fees to fend off competition.
How It Works
The Sorenvik Venture Company is a middleman company that exists to help other groups through mutual trade relations and alliances. It coordinates between Distribution, Trade, and Supply organizations by doing large aspects of outside business for them. This allows for organizations inside Regalia to profit outside of the Holy City, and for those who are already outside of the city to have more reliable and trustworthy ways for their goods to reach their destinations. This is meant to help existing and future businesses start and maintain themselves.
TL;DR: The Sorenvik Venture Company will transport your goods, sell your goods, supply you with goods, and also distribute your goods for a very low fee.
Movement of Goods:
- If the goods are outside, and must be brought in the SVC takes a 5% cut.
- If the goods are inside, and must be brought out the cut is 3%.
- If the goods are within Regalia, the SVC takes a 1% cut.
- If the goods are yours and you are selling, the SVC takes a 5% cut.
- If the goods are the company's and you are selling, the SVC takes a 15% cut.
- If the goods are yours and for the company to use, the SVC takes a 0% cut.
- If the company is trading your goods as a surrogate, the cut is 5%.
- If the company is distributing your goods as a surrogate, the cut is 5%.
- If the company is supplying your goods the cut is 5%.
- You want to sell coal from Daendroc, but have none.
- The company will give you the coal and take 5%.
- The company will bring the coal into Regalia, and take 5%.
- Because the company is giving them to you to sell instead of selling it themselves, the company takes an additional 15%.
- In total, they charge you for 25% of what the coal is worth when they deliver it to you.
- This allows the Company to boost the business of other company and itself by offering low prices based on market value of goods. The charge is enacted during the exchange of goods.
Membership
The membership hierarchy of the Sorenvik Venture Company is relatively simple and divided into three categories. All positions under the Trademasters and the High Tradesman can be occupied solely by organizations, and require no actual involvement in the company beyond working directly with it and paying certain fees when applicable. High Tradesman and above can only be operated by individuals who are directly involved in the Company. Charters, trade groups, families of any social status, and other groups of trade are invited to apply to bolster the company. The SVC is considered more of a loose group of merchants and businesses rather than an actual trading company.
Trademasters
Tradesmasters are the owners of the Company, and manage all high ranking affairs and have the final say in all dispute. The Tradesmasters are responsible for managing the company overall and forging relations. They may also partake in trade directly.

Suppliers are members of the Organization that fill positions such as Fisherman, Hunters, craftsman, and other similar trades. They are responsible for supplying the Venture Company with what it needs to facilitate trade. This category can include individuals, or the Owners of Organizations that supply the Company with trade goods.
Distributors:
Distributors are on the other end of the Company from Suppliers. Distributors take the merchandise that is procured by Suppliers and sold by Tradesman to whoever has purchased it. This usually only occurs when things are ordered in large amounts or if an item is ordered without having it in stock. Distributors can do local or regional distribution when applicable.
