This story continues off from 'From The Inside'

Theon entered the great hall of the new Insani, admiring it in all of its completion, his eyes drifting from statue to statue of soldiers in the kingdom's attire. He then glanced to the throne, the throne he would take up today.

Suddenly the doors to the hall opened wide, and Commander Maddox with approximately ten guardsmen entered the room.

"Commander, here so soon?"

"Hello my young King, yes, I have a gift for you."

Theon began approaching Darius Maddox, when Maddox suddenly unsheathed his blade, slamming it right into Theon's chest.

Theon looked up at Maddox, his eyes full of fear and surprise, "M-Maddo?..."

Theon stumbled back while Maddox grinned, "You know who's sword this is?..."

The door to the grand hall cracked open, Lady Devereaux looked inside, and paused with shock as she saw Theon fall down to his knees.

The young prince examined the bloody sword, the long, sharp blade was studded with gems and covered in runes.

It was Insanity. The prized sword of House Athius, only to be wielded by his father, and used to slay countless foes.

"N-no.. How?.." Theon stuttered.

Maddox laughed, signaling his men out of the room, "Lock down the castle's armory. Let none in or out..." He examined the blade in his hand, "You see, naive boy, you were never ordered to retreat from the city. I was never ordered to find you."

Theon grunted, realizing that he has succumbed to the usurpers ultimate plan.

"It was I, who ordered you away from your father, so that I may slay him in his own castle, revealing the command of that wretched city to our neighbors, dismantling the command of House Athius."

Theon tried to rise, "Wh-Why did you...?"

"What?" Darius slowly walked toward the throne, "Why did I betray House Athius...? Its simple. Your dynasty has drove our kingdom into the ground, your family is unfit to rule. You're all weak. Just look at you."

The guards followed the Kathar out of the room heading towards the armory. The Kathar paused.

He scanned the entrance hall of the castle, getting the sense of someones presence, before shrugging it off, and proceeded to the armory.

Anastasia took a deep breath, and sprinted for the office of the Hand of the King.

Silvanus jumped in his chair as Anastasia rushed in, slamming the door behind her.

"Anastasia! Are you oka-" Silvanus was cut short, "M-Maddox.. He- He stabbed Theon! He just- Him and his guards, they stabbed him, at the throne!"

Silvanus was still confused, "Slow down, what? What do you mean?"

Aalto's door opened once more, and the Kathar stepped in, accompanied by two guards.

"Whats going on here? Who are ya?" Silvanus asked.

The Kathar raised his hand, "I knew someone was snooping around... Don't fear, Young Aalto. I'm here to... help you."

The two guards moved towards the pair. Silvanus quickly drew his sword, and so did the other two deserters.

Silvanus slammed his sword down onto the shoulder of one of the men, and he fell to the ground. The other deserter swung at Silvanus' side, and Silvanus quickly parried his attack, before knocking him to the ground and eliminating the threat.

The Kathar grunted, quickly drawing two knives, throwing one at Silvanus.

The knife went into Silvanus' right shoulder, and Young Aalto responded with a fury of swings.

The Kathar dodged the swings with ease, before attempting to dodge a swing with his second dagger.

The power of the swing sent the dagger out of the Kathars hand. The Elf whimpered in fear, "Wait! Don-"

Silvanus swung down on the Kathar.

"Quick. Lets get out of here, there is someone still in town who may help us."

Anastasia and Silvanus found themselves scanning the tavern in search for a certain face.

Silvanus finally found the veteran at the bar, telling stories to his companions around him.

"Lord Beaubien?"

John Beaubien turned to Silvanus, "Well if it isn't young Aalto. How may I help you?"

"Commander Maddox... He's staging a coup against House Athius... He has Theon in the castle, you must help us! Hes going to kill Theon!"

"... And you know the funny part?" Maddox questioned Theon, "I was the one who poisoned your Hath friend." Darius chucked, "In fact, it was supposed to be for you."

"That's enough, Commander." Silvanus ordered, standing at the entrance of the hall.

The guards drew their arms, slowly walking in Silvanus' direction.

Darius sighed, raising his hand. "Don't worry, I have this one." and gripped Insanity.

"Maddox, I don't know what you think you're doing, but it's not going to work. House Athius has ruled Insani for decades, if anyone learnt that you don't interfere with the royal family, it was my father. Now drop your weapon."

Maddox chuckled, "So obedient, aren't you, child? You think they are Gods or something? They are just as mortal as you and I. Today I will prove it to you."

Silvanus grunted, charging at the Commander.

Maddox dodged the boys blow, quickly swinging at Silvanus' side.

Silvanus' sword clashed with Maddox's. He quickly hacked back at the Commander.

Maddox parried Aalto's swing, counter-attacking with another blow, a blow that left a cut down Silvanus' arm.

Theon crawled on the floor with one hand while his left hand applied pressure to his wound.

Silvanus swung back at Maddox even harder, this time knocking Insanity out of the Commanders hand, and the two went into a fist fight.

Fueled by anger, Silvanus released a volley of swings upon the Commander, before getting weary and succumbing to the Commanders endurance, which he turned into a choke hold around the Hand of the King's neck.

Theon scanned his surroundings for any way to help, when he found Insanity lying on the floor next to him. He began to crawl towards it.

Maddox slammed Silvanus onto the floor, strangling him, while Silvanus floundered his arms about, trying to release the Commander's grip.

The prince was finally in grasping distance of the sword, his hand trembled out toward the hilt, and gripped on.

Suddenly, the prince felt a strong surge of power overcome him, removing his pain and filling him with strength, and so he slowly rose.

His vision went into a haze... a blue haze... he began to seeing strange things, plants... buildings... fire... He saw his father. He marched into a keep, accompanied by several other men in Insani Inquisition uniforms, "Jeffery!" Ronaen hollered. Now he was in the Throne room at Inquisitor's Bay, he watched as his father and Claus Aalto dueled in the center of the room. Then he was at the castle in Lamplight, he watched as Ronaen calmed down Maria as Sythos Militants dragged him away...

Silvanus' face slowly faded to red as he continued to be strangled.

Maddox chuckled, "You picked the wrong side, boy, now you will pay-" A blade shot through Maddox's chest, right where his heart would beat, sending him falling lifeless to the floor.

Silvanus quickly threw Maddox off of him as Theon fell to the ground, shivering. Silvanus quickly rose up, brushing off his armor before trying to hoist Theon up. They both looked around hopelessly as the usurpers men surrounded them with vengeance.

But the doors to the grand hall burst open once again, this time followed by the flooding in of troops in Inquisition attire.

"Drop your weapons!" Inquisitor Beaubien ordered, "Retaliate, and I promise you, you'll regret it."

Theon smiled, full of relief, "Beaubien..."

Theon's bright blue eyes faded back to normal.
