The timing with regards to the Scholar Ministry is unfortunate, but this group has been a work in progress for quite some time now. It is not intended to compete, and as it takes a different approach to things, there hopefully won't be an issue.

The Order of Scholarly Pursuits & Studies - or simply The Order - is a freshly-established group seeking to encourage a far more liberal approach to research & experimentation than those currently in existence. Any form of research, experimentation, or theory is encouraged so long as the basic rules are followed. Advancement is not based on arbitrary metrics or personal opinions, but on making experiment reports and documenting theses.

Rules:

Researchers are provided with basic resources for practical experiments, but expected to source their own should more obscure items be needed. Senior researchers are permitted to utilise a portion of order resources for major experiments, though they should still provide their own where possible.

Under no circumstances should any form of conventional weaponry or traps be developed (this rule is applicable OOC as well). Work on non-conventional weapons - the Tawaq being an example of such - are permitted given approval from two or more senior researchers.

Test subjects are to be volunteers wherever possible. In the case that no volunteers can be found, it is permitted to use an outsider taken from the slums (only with OOC consent of the player). Violating their rights is, of course, impossible, as they have no rights in the first place.

Theft or destruction of other researchers' work will result in a warning. Further warnings may result in eviction from the order.

There are no "laws of nature". Please don't ask if we're breaking them.

No list of members is made public at this time. It is advised to contact Ghaliya Ayda IC if seeking further information, or to contact another senior researcher if you know their identity IC.
