Welcome,

So, i'm going to be frank as this is an early design and essentially myself booking out an operational area to recieve criticism or even if the idea will work or not, but we'll cut things short.

"The Icarus Project" is essentially a monthly, or potentially bi-monthly event scheme which will explore different narratives which could range from plays of the current Regalian during future, past or what-if timelines spread over the course of a weekend/week and will also alternative from GMT to whatever time you americans use. The grand scheme of this idea, is to have a roleplay region built in creative to feature different storylines which will all have diverse options and a multitude of results apparent to the players and after its completion, a synopsis and reveal of all the options will be released similair to Telltale story games. Sounding good? I hope so.

While there is currently no work put into the project, and remains in its earliest development cycle, I have had a few thoughts on the basis of the first project and figured it was would be a more constructive idea to feed the idea into the community for those who may be interested in getting involved but I will run down how this could be beneficial for some community members.

  • Point 1: This will allow members of the community to interact without the establishment of introductions with some people struggle at, and may help people meet and conspire into the established roleplay world. Essentially, Mineman 1 meets Mineman 2, they become friendly and eventually will meet their characters into the roleplay world which may help them establish new circles or progress in other ways.
  • Point 2: While this would remain an open platform to convey narratives and provide a unique experience to the community who may not be able to ever see these, the region can also be altered to provide roleplay grounds for certain groups who request it (though this all coresponds on timing and demand.) While I do aim to hold a consistant 25 players or more without hassle, while supplying the tools to convey the narrative and an enjoyable experience, this same quota is fit for privatised events.
So, hopefully I have your brain hooked on the idea and figured I would provide what ideas I have available and what would best be suited for the community. You'll find them below:
  • Devils Abyss, a narrative occuring in a spin off from the current Regalia using an old Regalian build style with a number of aspects drawn from the lore to suit the playstyle of the narrative. This is currently my most fleshed out thought, and would put the players into the shoes of survivors from a holocaust not seen for three centuries. Surviving in the a region not so distant from the holy city, they are caught solving the mysteries of a seraph blacksite to either halt a void invasion or find another estranged solution. Only time shall tell. (What if roleplay, with a number of options already thought of.)
  • The Grand Discovery, set in the modern times sends a small civilian aircraft spiralling out of control in the heart of a storm to the undiscovered realm of Muird. They emerge to find the strangely purple infused natives living in the harsh ruins of a city, littered with ghosts of an old world and no hope of returning home. Before they can count their losses, the gang is sprung into action fighting an unknown threat which will quickly become each other. This'll take place on an island, with a number of strange references to the world we know. (A very confusing timeline, with a spinoff from the Tarchlann which places them outside of the alorian timeline.)
  • An Unnamed Storyline, which can be suggested by the community and will be updated when the specifics and requirements are met.
This project will remain in its trial stages, but aim for a one month transition period to create all the assets neccesary for development. As of right now, the estimated release date will be April the 10th. Maybe sooner, maybe later.

Narratives in the making, or the past.

The Devils Abyss, an imagining of the current lore.
Set in the snowy times of december, 307 AC follows the tale of anguish against all odds. As scholars withheld the information of true decimation which ruined the likes of the Allorn Empire and the Seraph, Aloria met the true hand dealt by the void and frankly was annihilated from its ignorance. Hidden in the growing marshes of Morrasse lies a forsworn town that fell victim to the essence of a seraph temple which unfortunately, proves to be the only safe alternative to waiting for this to all blow over. Like Shaun of the Dead, only there is no saviour. Details below:

Five unique endings, one of which can impact a potential storyline further along the line. All of which can be accessed by individual groups, though some may overpower the other.

An active threat is always on the rise, so it is wise to keep an eye out for any noises or figures you may seem lurking in the purple-infuzed haze that now haunts these lands.

Project will begin on the 11th of March, and will be released from the 12th to 14th of April.

An Unnamed Storyline, an unforseen adventure.
This storyline is as of yet to be decided, and will be revealed on the success of the first event. This is open to suggestions alongside narrative collaborations, for those who fancy themselves a story teller. Contact me over the forums with your pitch, and we will discuss the potential for it being featured.
