"Do you smell it…?" Bangsi asked Wolfgang Drache as they stood over the butchered Elven archer on the ground across from the Goddess' temple.

If truth be told, Wolfgang did not smell it at first. He was a young man, roughly the age of twenty-four with raven black hair. He looked as gallant as any Knight should. He always combed, kept his beard shaved, and wore the scar on his face as an badge of honor. He kept his silence nonetheless.

"The stench smell. I don' know." the Skagger followed up with a reply. Bangsi was a blonde hair man of war with countless battles he fought and won in. He was a Skagger afterall. His rampage bested even the mightiest of foes. The numerous scars showing on his white skin show his battle-harded state. He even bested Wolfgang once, though, he never brought it up.

Any eye could see the path he and Bangsi took. We killed a lot of them, didn't we? The dirt floor that marked the path between the few wooden run-down houses and the single stone temple with the crude statue of Estel was laid with most of the men of that village. Wolfgang sniffed the air. He began to smell it.

A few coughs were raised by both men as the smoke from the houses began to rise around them. The sellswords with the small group where raiding the houses from everything that was able to be moved. Wolfgang did not know where the people inside were. Best not to know. He instead looked down at Elven archer that laid cold on the ground.

"Wolf. This on' was a farmer… righ'?" Bangsi continued. Wolfgang wanted him to stop but the Skagger always spoke his mind, "Tha' was his farm… wasn't it?"

The farm was the entry point for the attack. It was undefended like the rest of the town with less eyes. The scouters reported there were no soldiers at the town. Perfect for the invading army to capture supplies. The Elf archer and the rest of the men in the town took up their own farm tools and kitchen tools to attack the attackers. Wolfgang sniffed the air. It all reeked of that smell.

Bangsi didn't move nor did Wolfgang as their heads turned to the rest of the men plunder the houses with screams from the house on the other side of the Goddess' Temple. When Wolfgang moved looked to see, the statue of Estel's eyes met his. It only frowned.

Why do I feel like this? Wolfgang had been raised a Drache. He hated the Elves with all his heart and was a Knight of the Spirit no less. He was ending those who opposed the Spirit's will. He did not feel like the Knight right now. He never told Bangsi that.

"We.. did good.. Yuh? We are the good guys?" Bangsi asked after the moments of silence had on gone too long.

Good guys don't kill defenseless men. They don't burn their houses. They don't… "Of course we are Bangsi. Don't be foolish." The sellswords began to move on away from the town with the rest of the men. "Come on. Let us leave before we are left behind." Wolfgang looked back at the Elf man once last time before leaving.

I love how you took on this concept. It's refreshing and different.
