To all those still engaged in this matter,

I was the one who first cast light upon these allegations, which have since been proven true. It is only fitting that I now draw the curtain on this matter, before more voices join a battle in which they have no rightful stake.

This situation has drawn in too many voices from outside the faith, twisting it into something it was never meant to be. This was about Faith, not mere scandal or personal squabbles, about a man who broke his sacred vows. Instead of focusing on that fact, the conversation has been led astray by personal grievances and outside interests that have no place here. The Writ of Sin has been passed. That is not something done lightly. The College of Priests reviewed the case and judged accordingly. No amount of argument or speculation changes that fact.

It is telling that when Count Norinn sought to bring an inquest against me for supposed blackmail, it was swiftly shut down by the Viridian Order. Any method seems fair game until it is turned against them. The willingness to manipulate the narrative only proves how personal interests have poisoned what should have remained a matter of faith and truth.

Many claim to defend Countess Amber Silverberry, yet by endlessly dragging this out, they do her no service. I spoke with her directly before making my original statement, and she approved of it, understanding that however painful, the truth had to come to light. If anyone truly wishes to act in her defense, they should cease stoking the flames and allow this matter to settle.

These events have clearly caused there to be a target on my back, and unfortunately has ruined relationships, as well as given many I agree with politically a distaste of my name. Yet, I stand true to my principles. The clergy's judgement has made it clear that bringing this into the light, in the end was for the better.

Some of what has been said borders on slander. To those who question my choice of patron, let me be clear: one swears by who they are closest to. Swearing by Divine Mendes is no different than swearing on one's father rather than an distant uncle, it is a matter of deep personal connection, not convenience, just like marriage. As for my absence at the inquest, I had more pressing priorities: someone in my family passed. I chose to be with them. Those who cannot understand that reveal more about themselves than they do about me.

I could sit here and list accusations against those who have fought against me, but what would be the point? The decision has been made. The writ has been passed. Let it rest. Soon, I will be leaving for a well-earned vacation, and I would suggest others do the same. There is wisdom in distance, in allowing the storm to pass. .

May those who seek peace find it, and those who seek strife be left to argue with the wind.
