"Just when thing were getting better, everything comes crashing back down."

The Familiar Dispair

"I'm back Zaide. I brought you some nice flowers."
Is what Connak would say as he neared his husbands bed with a bouquet of colorful flowers. As the Sundial came around the corner, he saw the worst that he could not expect. His husbands body with the head on the ground beside the bed. Connak would drop the bouquet and fall to his knees.

"No..."
"I'm sorry for your loss sir."
A medic would say as they placed their hand and the now grief stricken Connak's shoulder. Connak would shuffle over to the head and pick it up. He'd look into it's cold dead eyes and slowly started to cry.

"I never even got to say goodbye..."
Connak would faintly whisper as he closed the head's eyes before setting it in the beside it's other half. Connak would fall completely silent as he knelt there beside the body crying so loud, a few guards had rushed in.

"Is everythi-..."
One of the guards would say before seeing that Connak was the source of the cries. The same guard would make his way over to Connak and placed an armored hand on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry for your loss sir. It's time for us to take the body away."
"I can't leave him. He was the only family I have left."
Connak would say with a cracking voice and through his tears. The guard would grip Connak's shoulder and sigh underneath his helmet.

"I know how hard it must be sir, but you have to let go. He's gone, I'm sorry. He's in a better place now."
The guard would say in efforts to try and comfort the cursed Sundial. Connak would cover his face with his hands and started to silently blame himself for his Zaide's death. Slowly, Connak would uncover his face and slowly got up to his feet, still crying from grief. He'd move the corpse's arms and hand over it's chest only to make it look at peace.

"At least grant me his robes with his ashes."
Connak would request to the guards as he wiped away some of his tears even though he was still crying. The guard that was attempting to comfort Connak nodded and then gestured for the others to take the corpse. Connak would step back as he watched the guards take off the corpse's robe befofe handing them to the Sundial. Connak would take the robes and fold it over his arm while the corpse was taken away to be reduced to ash.

After what had felt like thirty minutes, the guard would clank up to Connak, hand him an urn and placed a hand on the Sundail's shoulder again. With a lose for words, the guard would half-heartedly rub his shoulder and then removed his hand to speak.

"The medic said there was a visitor before you. They couldn't put a description to that figure. Again sir, I'm gravely sorry for your loss."
The guard would clank off, leaving Connak to head home with Zaide's ashes and robes. As Connak walked, he could help but to blame himself for the death. Once he got home, he'd lock the door, head up stairs, place the urn on the table near one of two bookshelves, hang Zaide's robe up and head right for the darkest part of his basement. Only to curl up on the floor, and cry. Connak is now alone once again...

A young half-Kathar boy walked to Connak. His crimson red eyes tearing up as he noticed the Sundial cry.

"What happened? Is dad alright? I wanted to tell him that mom came back."

Already guessing that it's too late he joined Connak, hugging him tight.

While Connak cried and hugged Aykut, a priestess would hear from the shadows that the Sundial was breaking down at the loss. She only smiled....
