You may notice that there are no longer evil vampire factions screaming in global. That is because we destroyed them. From what I see, most random people saying they are vamps, or wanting to be one, are new-non-prem-not in a faction people, making them a bit difficult to hunt. We have no concern for vampires in Regalia, that is up to the Guard/Crimsons to deal with.@SaintsDemon I loved Algaron's architecture but I don't see them actively pursuing any wars at the moment or stopping vampires so I wonder why you posted disagree?
Nothing is permanent. Every single faction will fall one day. Some last longer than others because they are built to last, like Alamut and 9thlegion.Do you people agree that no matter how good a faction, it will always fall eventually? I have played about a year and seen many rise and fall but I wonder how it always seems to happen. What are your thoughts on this?
The reason big factions fall is becouse in order to be successful with a faction you need to sacrifice a lot if time of your irl life which doesn't hold in the long run. As simple as that ^^
Haha, saints. You know the time schedule is different between the Leader and builder you knowBuuuulllshit. Im studying and still got enough time, though you have to sacrifice IRL time but not that much if you do your stuff efficient. The main reason might be a mix of motivation, endurance and the IRL-time tradeoff
Difference between studying and socializing is very big. I by my self spent a lot of time on server when I was bored, school was really hard, tests and all kind of stuff, and when I got home, I wouldn't go to town for a coffee or something like that, I would just sit on my chair and turned on minecraft. After the school "hard time" passed, I started going out for weekends and get drunk with friends, every day two coffees and such stuff, and eventually stopped playing minecraft. As you could probably see, or not, I don't know what is your ingame activity, but I'm very inactive now, and I care more for being socialized.Buuuulllshit. Massivecraft4EVER!!!!!!!!!!I believe MassiveCraft should be an extension of real life, as should any virtual hobby. If it starts detracting from your real life experiences - ultimately becoming less like entertainment, and more like work - then you need to stop playing. The problem is that MassiveCraft will not be around forever. You also may lose your friends that are currently on the server as they can time out due to inactivity. If you had sacrificed your real life for this, then you'd essentially be depressed in real life.
Look at Alamut, that faction has been around for a long time, same with Algaron and SovereinLegion(Used to be 9thLegion). There is a lot of ancient factions on this server. You'd be surprised at the amount of old factions is out there.
Doesn't mean the faction as a whole hasn't generally declined though, that's the point he's making. He never said it's completely died out, just it's inactive.I don't know about that, lately I've seen Cowboys talking in General chat quite a bit lately as well as Disturbed in my ally chat. Only person that can really be seen as inactive would be Kapry.
YAY I'm not in a burn-out!Okay, I've been on for roughly a year and 8 months, and here's what I've seen so far. There are two main types of factions, burn-outs and stable ones. Burn-outs will usually fall rather quickly, but stable factions can often survive upwards of six months, some living for years while undergoing dormant and active phases.
Burn-outs are factions that usually last 1-3 months, and are active for about 1 of those months. You can usually tell if its a burn-out faction if the leader/most of the officers are relatively new to the server, and the faction has a surprising amount of people for its age. Like if a faction's 1 week old but has around 20 people or so. While burn-out factions may look healthy, with often more than 5 people online at a time, this is usually due to the fact that they undergo a spurt of recruiting as the officers are still active. After around a month, the faction almost immediately drops dead as the first generation of officers go inactive and the leader, unused to losing members, either rage-quits or becomes depressed and can't handle recruiting more members. Burn-out factions can rarely transition into a stable faction, but only if the leader is extremely lucky or has had a lot of experience with leading factions on other servers.
Stable factions are an entirely different thing to burn-outs, mainly as they usually last more than 6 months. Stable factions are usually extremely hard to "kill" as their leaders are usually active and dedicated members of the community. Even if the faction loses around 99% of its members, the leader may occasionally simply go on a hiatus and come back dedicated to bringing the faction back into its former glory. Stable factions usually have 20-30 members, but some may have more than 50. Unsurprisingly, factions with more than 50 members will often not go inactive for a rather long time, gathering enough momentum among its officers to keep up a relatively steady stream of new recruits.
Lamplight is celebrating two years. We are in it for the loooooong haul
