The Emerald Vanguard's roots are as old and strong as the mighty oak itself. Its roots originate from a tough band of mercenaries under the leadership of [Levi Cresswell], who performed both honest and dirty work all in the name of profit. As the families wealth amassed over time, as did the need for protection from outside forces, and in 208 AC, the Emerald Vanguard came under full employ of House Thiel and its members.
Despite having its origins in primarily Blackmark and Hitlok warriors, the Emerald Vanguard now welcomes members of all schools and races, should they meet the requirements set down by the leadership.
The Emerald Vanguards, in their service of House Thiel, receive a multitude of benefits alongside their coin. These benefits aid them in their service, and are a nice bonus to have, but in order to receive these benefits, all Vanguards must abide by the burdens placed upon them.

- Rights to wear a cuirass/chest-plate of plate armor of any kind. (arms/neck/head may not be armored)
- Rights to wear a chain-mail skirt/hip-guard, no further armor above cured leather. (legs/feet/neck may not be armored)
- The right to bear weapons in open carry, but not military grade.
- The right to defend any member of a Noble household from aggression.
- The right to perform citizen arrests on attackers against said Nobles.
- The right to transfer citizen arrests to City Guard authorities
- All Emerald Vanguards must obey the command of their superior officers, and the commands of the members of the house should they be reasonable and within the boundaries of the law.
- All Emerald Vanguards must abide by, and live by the writings and tenants of Unionism, and must be so openly. Imperialization is not required though.
- All Emerald Vanguards must be exclusively members of the Emerald Vanguards, meaning they can not be part of any other House guards. They may be members of charters, as long as their interests don't conflict with House Thiel's interests.
- Emerald Vanguard - This is the personal guard to the matriarch. He does not guard other house members, but he can keep a close eye on them.
- Ginearálta an Gharda (General of the Guard) - This is the highest rank a Vanguard can achieve. They command the entirety of the guard, and they recruit Vanguards, but they do not oversee their training.
- Ceannasaí (Commander) - The second in command of the Vanguards. This rank oversees the training of the other recruits.
