JOURNALIST POSITIONS OPEN AS OF APRIL 20th.

Hello, all.

I'll be honest here to say that I was appalled with the quality of any newspapers that have been formulated and posted on here. I've decided to use my funding to create a properly organized newspaper that features events, differing opinions, good formatting, and roleplay value. In order to do that, I'll need your help.

I'm looking for people to help with these roles:
-3 or 4 journalists who can write about current events and opposing viewpoints in a professional manner.
-A visual organizer to compile written stories into the final product. Has to apply fonts, be able to compile things into a book-like .pdf file, put a papyrus-like background on the paper, and place imagery/ads in the appropriate places.
-2 or 3 images makers who can take relevant pictures of events and/or draw things.
Once a lot of funding is available, this will be a paid job.

We're opening a publishing branch. Information will come soon.

You can also help by donating to the cause or providing scoops to different events.
Additionally, you can pay to put an ad onto the paper.

Remember, only you can help make the newspaper the people deserve.

We'll be covering wars depending on how impacting it is. A war the scale of the Coalition-Imperial war will get heavy coverage, while skirmishes done by raiding factions will come up as small warnings. I'm hoping to be able to get opinions from both sides of each conflict so we can provide most amount of information.

Id like to get a reporter in on the war we are fighting want some coverage on the aimneaians fighting techniques
 
I am from the u.s. so I'm fluent in english I would love to write articles and take pictures. I use a photo editing software to make my pictures more medieval which could add a cool effect to the articles Please tell me if you are still accepting help, ill be a journalist or imagery whatever you need.

I'm sorry, but thats basically spying. We're a news agency I haven't decided yet, but we're only covering fighting techniques to a basic level AFTER a battle. However, there will be full coverage of the behavior or raiders to warn readers of how they act.

We need an imagery person. Which means you're tasked to go to locations and take pictures as well as create imagery such as diagrams or comics. We've got 3 journalists already, so I was hoping you'd be an imagery maker.[DOUBLEPOST=1363021310][/DOUBLEPOST]

No. Its a criticism of the quality of the newspaper you made. I can outline about 20 or so things you can do to improve your newspaper.

The people of Aloria deserve a proper newspaper.
 
No no no i mean you guys just watch a battle and screenshot or make notes on it
 
Everybody started making newspapers after I decided to start one...Stop copying my brilliant ideas. :(
 
Sounds like fun, though I currently don't have the time. Perhaps at a later date.
 
Atticusmas, the funny thing is, I haven't even published the first issue of mine because I'm still working on it to make it look good. :P

Also, a couple of questions:
1) How often will this be published?
2) If you are planning to make money off of this, how will you prevent piracy? Some person could take the link and shot it out in Global or Alliance, or some person may buy a bunch of your copies and resell them for a higher price.

1) The newspaper will be finished and rolled out in .pdf form hopefully every Saturday starting from this week or next week.
2) Our only way of making money is through donations and personal intervention from me. Our newspaper will be free, so everyone gets the information they need.

I Have Started Making Epic Stuff With The Program "mine-imator". Request Pictures Here. | MassiveCraft Forums

I can do the above, and try to apply parchment like filters to make it look medieval. Also, English is one of my strong suits, so I can write formal and fairly complex articles and investigations (Not in a detective sort of thing, but researching a subject to publish in a newspaper) and edit/proofread other peoples articles, eg; fix uncohesive sentences, minor terminology changes if necessary.
I could see myself filling these roles:
  • Researcher/Journalist
  • Artist
  • Editor
This seems fun, so that's why I'm volunteering :P. if we ever create written book copies in game, I'd be happy to distribute them.
 
I would love to help out in any way, as an editor and/or a journalist.
