The daggers sank into Tomas, his body crashing against the deck. As four men charged into his ship cabin.
The first pierced his back with a dagger, "For Alexander, my comrade in arms whom your creations butchered and for his body which you desecrated with your heretical practice," dictated the man his voice awash in frigid judgement.
The second rammed a knife through his chest, "For Lilly O' Valley, my daughter whose ascension and whose Body you desecrated!" cried the second man.
He stabbed the Qadir over and over the blade punctuating each word of heart broken fury. Only stopping as the third man held him back. Allowing Tomás to cumple to the floor the last flames of tortured life still glowing in his pilot light eyes. Handing the wild avenger to the first stabber, the third stepped forward putting a gentle hand on the Qadir's head.
"Rest now Tomás, I know you can't forgive this but it must be done. You've warped into something you were never meant to be," mourned the man speaking with the careful tone of a grieving friend, "I know you think you were always meant to be this...to be a butcher and a monster."
He lined up his blade, "Yet even from your first kill, I knew the act was unnatural to you that its perpetration warped your mind," he said as in one movement he stabbed into the man's gut.
wishing to hasten his descent to the soothing arms of unconscious. Only to find the man much to stubborn to simply fade.
Hissing back like a angry snake, "Traitor! Bastard! Lier! I killed with you, I bleed with you and you repay me with this. You tear me from life with pithy lies of our mutual crimes being some curse on my soul. Bull shit!!"
"Do not lie to yourself any more Tomás...your anger is not strength!" Roderigo cried, a flash of frustration breaking his sorrow, "You are a mouse, a wonderfully fearful bookworm who was kind, generous, and once felt Love! I never should've let you become a Worker. I never should have let you walk the path that drove you to this."
"Damn you, damn you how dare you presume to steal my life. To steal me from Arryn!" He barked raising a hand to reach for his Saryid.
Only to see it lying shattered broken upon the ship deck behind Roderigo. He began to fade his vision slightly blurring as he fought to remain conscious. Then his vision cleared for a moment only to see something that cut him deeper than any knife. His blood brother Hernańdez standing over him with a knife drawn.
He spat into the man's face, cursing him with a raspy voice, "You are worse of all. I am your family...I cared for you even when I cast aside my own Blood! You were all I have Brother and this is what you decide. How will Junior react when he learns you killed his Godfather? How will your sainted wife see your betrayal!"
The Ailor merely shook his head, "Tomás, how can you not see…how are you so blind to what this has done to you?"
Herńandez's eyes searched the Qadir's form for the swiftest means to end him.
"I still remember when I first saw you again Tomás. You were so skilled, so swift getting patient after patient patched. Yet you were a shell of yourself...there was no warmth within your eyes and no generosity in your duties. Once you would reject 5 regals if you knew the patient needed them, but within that surgery. You extorted those patients for even the simplest of surgeries. That scoundrel, that bastard was not the same Tomás that I swore brotherhood with."
"Course I am not, this is me without fear. This is me when I have felt love for the first time in years. I am better than what I was!" Tomás cried out in a feral rasp.
"Love...Tomás when you returned to Hallonq was when I put this in motion. Because I realized something...what you felt for that woman wasn't love," admitted the man lining up his dagger with Tomás' heart.
"I will kill you, how dare you question my love for her!!" He screamed trying to charge forward only to find himself unable.
He was too weak to do more than listen and rasp now.
"Love is unconditional Tomás, it is pure a thing that requires affection. You lost that ability when you became this…I could see it in every action you took. From your declaration in the Tavern, to when you killed the man who attacked her. You did so to protect her but I know you long enough to know when you are simply protecting yourself," he states, "That is why you are on this ship and why you left her to return to Hallonq."
He lowers himself looking eye to eye with Tomás as his knife hovers near his heart.
"When I saw that puncture caused by your fangs upon that slain boy. I asked if you had feed upon anyone before and The Organization claimed you had never lapsed while in regalia...so why did you gorge yourself on a street tough here. Simple, you had a taste for our protection and thought we would allow you to leech upon our people. In the end, You decided our protection was better than even Arryn's so here you are believing your mark would give you impunity."
"The Leech who abandoned love for addiction is not my Blood Brother. I should have cured him the second I saw you in that surgery. My failure to do so allowed the monster he became," he cried tears streaming down his face, "I will rectify my failure and protect those you sought to. By killing the monster."
Tomás' eyes closed as he answered, "No forgiveness for those with such stupidity. I will see you in the Void Herńandez, when among the halls of my Patron's Surgery. Within the domain of Aivicienus, Arken of dissection, I cut open your form and dissect your traitorous soul."
"Goodbye my brother, I will put an end to your demons and you will know peace"
Tears ran down the blade as it pierced the Zikiel's heart and in one motion the fear was silenced.
