Only problem with staying inside all day is then everyone knows ur a vampire...
Well I spend a lot of my time in my house, because I'm an introvert in roleplay, and real life. I don't normally talk to people unless they talk to me, otherwise I just have a routine of going out into the wilderness for a couple hours, gathering things such as roses, seeds, I may chop a tree, kill a mob if I see it, do a bit of mining, then I go back to my house and spend the rest of my time making items and writing on of the three books I am currently working on.
I suppose that is a valid point though, you need to think when you accuse vampires. Lets use the 2 block jump, for example. If you see someone do that, from an in game perspective you go "that persons a vampire". However, from a roleplay perspective, how does that make sense? In real life some people can jump higher than others, there is even a high-jump competition in track and field. So how would that tell you they are a vampire? I have mixed feelings about the Inquisition checkpoints, however I think the test should be a more valid form of roleplay, such as "show me your teeth, citizen". Yes, I know this might allow vampires to lie and get away, but it might also bring a better roleplay aspect. Because picture that in real life, a long line of people jumping to get past a bridge? It just seems silly.
So I mean, if you see a vamp jumping two blocks, don't go "he's a vampire arrest him", because your character would have no way of actually determining that, unless he witnessed bloodlust. Or if they are in their house all day. In real cities, towns, and neighborhoods, A lot of people stay in buildings for large parts of their day. So while its not as common in a game, because everyone is out and about, you should still act as if its perfectly normal to see someone spending a lot of time in a house, day or night.
However if its something like a shriek, or someone spontaneously combusting, then yes, it would make sense for your character to know that the person is a vampire.
