As quickly as the argument subsided in the Council chambers, the Lord Chen Fong, Prince Cedric Kade and Imperial Gardener Shayin Crassan went on their way to the nearest ship in the direction of the Rim Isles. Little did they know however, that Eoin Ó Cionaoith, a spirit mage had already beat them to the castle where William Coen was held. The castle in question was one of the old Fong supply castles relatively close to the coastline, though not strongly guarded as all inside were simply commoner war prisoners. Eoin arrived at the cover of night in his feline spirit magic form, hoping to use this agile form to escape detection. His plan was however foiled when he managed to get inside the interior of the building. The guards indoors noticed him, and knew immediately that a Feline spirit animal was not something that would normally wander into the prisons. They attacked promptly, but Eoin was able to dispatch the guards with a series of claw strikes and bites in his feline form. Eoin then attempted to break out William, reverting to a naked human form, searching trough the corpses of the guards. Eoin and William exchanged a few words, but Eoin was unable to find the key, and saw no other way to open the door of the prison. He debated with himself for a while to decide whether he was going to continue looking or cut his losses, and eventually decided with the latter. The second rescue group which had no knowledge of Eoin and vice versa, was not arriving in time for them to meet Eoin, as he escapes still under the cover of darkness in his feline form, leaving the Rim Isle under the believe that he could not break out William. The second group arrived on the island shortly, and quickly made their way to the castle at dawn. The mess that was their frontal assault immediately started as Shayin Crassan summoned a large bark horror, a combination of dead tree bark, vines and other plantlike bound together in some sort of ogre sized monstrosity that promptly started attacking the walls while bursts of fire splashed around. The Qadir had fire mages, but they were quickly dispatched by Cedric Kade who rode the horror's back to the walls and then used it as a jumping platform to reach them. As Cedric dashed across the walls, the horror broke down the gates and smashed trough the guards there. As per a miracle of luck, the Qadir had not found the corpses that Eoin left behind, giving this group an easy way to the prison interior where William was held. Somewhat slightly staining their almost flawless victory however, was Chen's minor wound he sustained when an arrow slung past his arm and cut open some of its flesh. The Bark horror effortlessly smashed open the entire wall of the prison, giving William Coen a way to escape, yet he was unable to walk himself. Chen promptly ordered Cedric to carry him, and while Cedric objected as the only trained military individual, he eventually relented. His small frame, despite physically fit and strong, almost buckled under the weight of much larger William, but he was able to carry William by dragging him on his back. They made their way back, only to run into more reinforcements, which they then tried to fight. The Bark horror did wonders once more, but it was unable to fight against a stone mage that had joined the Qadir ranks. While killing the stone mage, it was able to hurl a boulder at Shayin who was spending all his time focusing on his magic, causing it to crash into his leg, promptly breaking it. As Shayin collapsed, Chen was hit with a sword on the leg, causing a bleeding cut, yet he still stood. Chen quickly helped up Shayin and supported him as they tried to leave, while Cedric tried to fend off what he could with William clutching onto his back. As they left the castle, the bark horror disintegrated. Shayin was unable to continue his magic as the pain became too severe, and from here on out the group had to limp towards their rowing boat which they intended to use for escape. As they were about to approach the cliff however, a Qadir battle party had managed to catch up to them due to their sluggish pace, starting another battle. This time Cedric properly dropped William on the ground to focus on fighting as Shayin was unable to do anything. The battle went well for the group, resulting in yet another sword cut on Chen Fong's back, while the others avoided wounds. Eventually when the battle was over, those who could walk supported those who could not towards the rowing boat at the beach. Cedric was then commanded once more by Chen Fong to row the boat while he, Shayin and William simply sat, and begrudgingly, he agreed as the group made their escape. Shayin and Chen Fong stared at each other the entire time while they rowed back to the battleship however. Chen could see it in Shayin's eyes, he noticed he was a Fire mage. Shayin saw it in Chen's eyes, he knew Shayin knew. Neither said a word. Cedric meanwhile was an oaf. He noticed nothing. He was just rowing. ( @Shayin I WAS ASLEEP WHEN YOU CALLED HNGH TELVOS WANTED IN) Although Shayin had reminded him several times about the rescue plan, a rather obnoxious twig had become entangled in Telvos's voluminous braided locks of hair, ruining and spoiling the aesthetics. As a result, the Lothar spent a good few hours removing it and fussing with his chestnut hair, hence missing both the meeting and departure. Silly narcissistic ol' Telvos

I waited a couple of days before running the first rolls. Some people submitted their data immediately after the event post, some people decided to wait it over. I reasoned that the people who submitted their data straight away were going to beat the others to it, so I decided to start running rolls. Tough luck William was liberated by the group that submitted sooner. Say what now?
