As of the thirtieth day of the third month, 307 AC, the great houses of De Letoirneau and Harhold declare themselves within a formal alliance. This pact forged between the neighbouring realms of Vlissinghelm and Loiree-Bas, former rivals amidst a turbulent world, will solidify a lasting partnership; one of political and economic union, and one in building a significant bridge of partnership, as well as laying the groundwork for a new order in the western archipelago. The terms denoted by the two families are as follows: The families of De Letoirneau and Harhold, despite differing opinions and goals on certain matters, will lend one another the utmost political support and backing in achieving their shared ambitions. Efforts of diplomacy, and maintaining stability within and around the realms of Lokinge and Vixhall will be of paramount importance, in addition to securing the wellbeing of peoples of the Anglian and Ithanian cultures especially, wherever such assistance ever be required. An unparalleled level of economic cooperation is to be crafted amidst this new partnership, with the aim of bringing a fresh era of prosperity to both families. The free trade of Vlissinghelm grain, livestock and other foodstuffs, and Loiree-Bas plantation goods and fine textiles between the two (in addition to a myriad of other local produces) shall be strived for, as well as a continued cooperation on matters of external trade. Furthermore, De Letoirneau finances will be opened up to invest in and support the economy of their new ally to their north. The two families and their realms shall immediately enact a overarching military defensive pact, meaning that any invasion of either Vlissinghelm or Loiree-Bas is considered a direct attack upon the other, and both families should then act in swift coordination. The pact will also invoke an openness of intention and strategy between the two families, also meaning that each is expected to aid their ally in outside conflicts whenever they are able, and unless otherwise is agreed upon prior to a conflict. Support in this definition denotes any sort of aid, although primarily the provision of soldiers, or finances to be directed towards conflict. It is the hope of both rulers that this agreement shall create an unrivaled bond, and usher in an age of prosperity and enrichment for both house, and those whom reside under their collective banners. Manfried furrowed his brows at such an announcement, seemingly quite surprised within his home outside the Cathedral. He offered no verbal response. Merely silence towards the announcement. He placed the paper down upon his desk, before his gaze shifted to the window. He sat in thought.
Agatha choked on her daily cup of tea, spluttering and coughing as she read over the text with wide eyes. She leaned back into her chair and offered a short response. “Holy shit.”
"In times of war, alliances shift constantly..." commented Rodrigo Peirgarten while looking over his war table. "But I do want to know how the Count of Basta will take this." @seoulmate
Cyprien sipped from a glass of Loiree red wine, while at one of his family's châteaus in Loiree as he read over the Regalian annoucement from his cousin. His brows raised as he set the parchment down, peering out his high window with a soft but sure "Yes."
Muzhu, the clueless Keep-Allar stumbled upon this announcement smiling. “Ooo, I knowz mizz Zophia maybez her and thiz perzon are related, Mhm yez yez I thinkz that’z it.”
