Being my first post on the forum I feel that I want to talk about something that I noticed during my time on the server.

One of the things that attracted me to the server was the fact of it having a great Role-play community, and exploring many different factions I come to the conclusion that many of them have very stylized builds that reflect the views and opinions of the faction and its members.
This really gives a sense of immersion that is really needed when trying to role-play and makes the whole experience a lot more enjoyable.

But then again you also get the odd faction or two that has no stylisation at all and can seem a bit plain.
It is understandable that some don't have the time to create an aesthetically pleasing city that also has purpose and functionality, but if you have a large amount of people in your faction surely you could allow some of them to try and improve the city for themselves or even designate an architect for your faction?

I also want to ask about another question, 'do you prefer to build stylized houses for people in your factions or allow them to build them for themselves and also why you take this view.'
If it was my faction I would choose to build them for my members and allow those who I know can create houses to the style I have chosen to build them with my permission.
I feel like this because otherwise you get things like this:

The house made by all pro minecraft players.

I would love to hear your opinions on the subject and hope I have made an interesting thread for you to read. :D

I have the housing area of my faction setup on chunk basis. Meaning that I give members access to one chunk to build their home. I only request that he/she uses roughly the same materials as have already been used.

I let people build their houses unless I already have a house made which is vacant, in that case I would let them use that house. I should probably start screening people for their building skill's first... :|

We have a district with streets of ready-made houses, it looks a lot tidier than letting someone with low building skill to build a cobble cube :P

Steadfast is using a policy were we do the building for the members unless they are qualified and able of doing it themselves. Of course for the past week way has been stock piling on houses ready for recruitment.

I allow members to build but they must stick to the Human Building structure. If they build something random that dosnt fit i will rebuild it or will have him/her rebuild it.

In the past, when I ran my own faction, I allowed people to build their own houses. But only within a certain style. and if it was an ugly building, they sure as hell heard about it...

It's an hard question....My Reccruit and member ALWAYS when I remove the feature for them to build THEY ALWAYS
Mail me as an complain which I don't know what to do actually

My faction is probably a bit odd, i like to see my faction as a personnel project in which i allow people to live :P
I do however accept help when building, I just don't allow them to design it on their own.

Another question, What kind of styles (Palettes) does your faction use?
Eg, Red and Gold colours, Lots of stone and wood, ect. :P

Most houses I build consist of oak log beams and supports, various stone varieties to fill in the lower floors, wool or clay on the upper floors and a spruce plank roof. I also do a few weird roof things that can't really be explained via text.

Okuz is mostly a "Jungle Ruins" style, lots of stone brick, vines, simple rounded buildings, grassy floors, trees growing though the middle of towers, etc.
