    • Sucks to be apart of| “Oh Shit, ‘ere she comes ag- Tcha! Load me up alreada wouldya?!” | For all those unlucky enough to meet the brash and brazen woman, they’d learn quick to let her rant about life’s crummy outcomes. It is also a problem that her inability to connect with others emotionally leads her to come off as insensitive. The scatterbrained is quite slowto pick up on the punchline of the joke but when her brain finally switches gears, it is not too uncommon to hear a deafeningbark reverberate from the counter of a bar. The crapulent is often at the counter, ordering in some kind of drink to drown her daily sorrows as she bothers those around her. As for learning about the halfling from another party, it isn’t uncommon to hear less than nice things about her as someone’s first time meeting her.
    • As above so below | “Fill ‘e up ‘gain!” | For someone as confident as Taj on the outside, she’s a whole different person on the inside. Considering herself to be disconnected is only scratching the surface, but deeper down she doubts herself most of the time. Greedy to no end, nothing other than an outside force stops her lack of self control from ordering another drink. Her unoriginality stems into her work as a “poet” of sorts, quite literally taking words from papers to create a new product from the old. In addition, her self denial is also partly to blame for her confusion in her work, much of it never making sense to any outside sane mind that reads it. However, the woman is used to giving into reality and looking at the actual consequences of her actions, which she chooses to ignore.
    • On the other side | “Pass m- c’mon giv’ et- ‘ye said- ‘m tryna getcha ta pass me ta fuckin mug!” | As for long time friends who choose to stick around, one might expect a much less rambunctious figure from Taj. One might realize just how loosey-goosey Taj really is after spending more time with her; from her constant cursing to repeated questions, Taj tends to be more outspoken when with those she’s grown comfortable to be around. Her opinions grow harsher with familiarity and she never fails to leave another feeling frustrated and exhausted from arguing. Most of those close to Taj choose to ignore the woman’s ramblings or shut her up with a drink that is usually gone within minutes. Her tendency to drink her problems away is another factor that drives most friends away after little time spent with her. Her alcoholism is partly to blame for her boisterous attitude but when sober, her mood changes to a much more aggravated and easily peeved tone.
    • For the rest of them | "‘E broke up witcha? Tcha. No fucks given- tha’ man was lucky ta get out while ‘e was still free ta” | Despite her best efforts, Taj remains substantially neutral in both character and moral. Her disposition to let grudges gounanswered stems from her uncaring attitude. Connecting with others on an emotional level is quite difficult for her and she fails to recognize when the right time to shut up is. She couldn’t give two hopping shits about what others do as it doesn’t involve her personally. Once she is apart of something, however, she does her best to get in the middle of it, involving herself well beyond her need to.

    • Liquor lover | Alcoholism - Acting as the only solid substance in her life that never fails on her, Taj relies on her daily dose of her addiction in order to keep herself under control. Using it as a deterrent, Taj refuses to face her problems head on without a little liquor in her to back it up. It usually doesn't affect her words as much as it should, her tolerance quite high over the years.

    • Delectable bits | Ever since she could walk, Taj was notorious for putting things in her mouth. After spending so much time in her father's shop, she's picked up the skill of identifying different, finer metals by taste. A weird sight to see but helpful to her when focused on a task and unable to divide her attention to reach for different materials.

    • Describe three different activities, things or items that your character loves to see, do, taste or smell. Generally speaking these are things that make your character happy and in a good mood when they are near them/doing them. Go into detail why they love these things and then also explain how it makes them feel.

    • Love in words | Poetry: The bane of her existence and something she absolutely hates being called. Although she does work with words, she considers it less poetry and more of a random art. Cutting out and rewording phrases from different pieces of literature and newspapers, she makes her own work by piecing these new words together to make [most likely than not] incomprehensible and inaccurate sentences.

    To begin a life:
    • Born to an elven mom, Nasaleajii’oja, and a Qadir father, Nahom Admassu, in the eastern deserts of Farah’deen.
    • Put to work at an early age in her father’s clockwork shop, she spent hours playing with bits and bobs, putting several things in her mouth to try and eat them, leading instead to a unique quirk that would allow her to identify most clockwork metals by taste.
    • It was decided at an early fate that when she reached the age of 20, she would return with her mother to the northwestern coast of Daen to finish off her learning of her elven heritage.
    • With her father given little time, he forced as much as he could on her. Night and day she spent working with him, learning his trade and his language in some effort to retain it all.
    • Her interest turned more so to her uncle’s jewelry trade, which her father happily let her in on.
    • Working with jewels now was much easier for her, until she was tasked with using both hands at once. Now forced to become a learned ambidextrous, she made quick work of tasks given to her.
    • At the ripe age of 8, she held her first pet: a frog named Revana. Feeding her every morning was a task young Taj looked forward to, until she caught sight of a bird casually catching her beloved Revana between its beak, leading to a longing that left Taj heartbroken for the first time and a peculiar sense of attachment for es-allars.
    • Discovering alcohol for the first time at 9 was an experience she’d never forget, as it would be the beginning of an addiction for years to come.
    • Her studies were interrupted one day by older cousins that decided shoving her headfirst into a river was the best way to have a little fun. Her swimming lessons stopped and hence, her fear of water began.
    • Overprotective as ever, her father scrapped up enough money for a defensive tutor, allowing her to learn bare handed combat techniques as well as further defense with the family’s rapier.

    In the middle:
    • By the time she was to leave with her mother, her hands had crafted enough jewelry to bring a steady flow of income in and out of her family’s shop.
    • Now in the far west of Daen, she learned the language and the beginnings of her mother’s culture in her Altalar tribe. Her arrogance grew in this time as she learned about the workings of her ancestry.
    • Her gift with jewelry making was heavily requested in her mother’s tribe and so she was hired for many jobs, giving her pride and ego a boost when it came to her work.
    • Her first love came in the form of a sculptor, Cha’lesai’da’ellaei’oio, who spent hours outside her shop working on a single piece of marble. Taj fell in love with her from afar, helping fix the girl’s tools when needed.
    • The two spent increasing time together, Cha’lesai’sda’s work taking more and more time to complete. The elf one day disappeared and Taj learnt of just what the statue was for, learning that because of the work’s incompletion past a certain deadline, Cha’lesai’sda had been sent off to work a much harsher job on the coast of Daen. It would be the last time Taj ever saw her again.
    • Heartbroken and angry at being deserted, Taj broke the rest of the sculpture before it could be hauled off for completion. She was punished heavily for destroying such an art, her own mother not speaking to her for weeks on end.
    • Having taken up a form of poetry to appease her mother, it came in the confusion of her art with poetry that her hatred for it grew. It wasn’t until her work was thought to be inferior when compared to others works by her own mother that Taj gave it up completely.
    • Taj’s second love interest appeared at the time she turned 34, a mage catching her eye as he passed by her shop. From her window, she was able to watch the lanky elf disappear around a corner for a drink at the nearby ailor run pub. Her distaste for the inferior ailor was pushed away in hopes of impressing her crush by drinking as well.
    • The elf, Tik’iani, and Taj spent time together at the pub and in her shop. It wasn’t until Tikani brought up his own disconnection to the world that she truly related to him.
    • Later on, however, it was discovered that Tik’iani had taken advantage of Taj’s desperate cry for attachment to rob her of money made at the shop and outside of it. He even had Taj steal from her own mother who then forbid her from seeing the elf again, a step closer to getting disowned.
    • As time passed and she spent increasing time at the pub, her interest turned towards that of the pub’s owner, an ailor known as Liaren. Much to the abhorrence of her mother if she wore to ever find out, Taj kept this relationship a secret.
    • With the two becoming extremely close to one another, Taj’s sense of detachment began to settle over her. Unable to help Liaren when he was feeling off, she tried her best, only distancing herself from him.
    • The relationship came to a rough ending when her mother found out about the two from a rumor, finding them canoodling in the woods. With a threat to have him killed, Liaren chose his own life over their potential love and fled, scalding Taj with his insults and slurs as he confronted her in public.
    • Her detachment to others on an emotional level continued to grow, further increasing her self doubt as time passed.
    • A lack of self-control came from her newfound addiction, going through periods of obsession with various things before moving on, causing her to fly through lovers faster than she downed drinks in the evening.
    • Now at the age of 39, her mother finally kicked her out of the home after failing to overcome her addiction after multiple second chances and attempts.
    • Unable to withstand the withdrawal of alcohol’s effects, Taj set out to Regalia with little coin left in her pocket.
    As of now:
    • Having spent a decade or so in Regalia working various and ever changing jobs, she continued to go through drinks much more than she should have, causing a period of weight gain.
    • It wasn’t until she picked up her blade again that the weight began to sluff off, her training picking up enough speed that even her alcoholism slowed down for a bit.
    • She found work in various jeweler shops, acting as a freelancer with her own pieces being made from the scarps of forges.
    • She turned her hobby of glass making from her days in Daen into a part time job in Regalia, some finding worth in the jewelry she made from the fine material.
    • As for most nights, Taj continues to spend her days over the counter in some tavern, loudly boasting of her latest coin making conquest. More often than not some time later on, her coin sack goes missing.
