Clan Morathes in coordination with the Ashal Heritage Society invites the city to participate in games and celebrations in the Month of June. Gatherings are planned, fun is mandatory, and an opportunity to shake off the New Year funk and spring's pollen laden flowers is at hand. The event begins in old stomping grounds—local artists and craftsmen gather beside the Baskarr Temple in Clawcourt and share their works. At the end is a potluck to commemorate the day and make sure everyone is full in preparation for Sunday's games! Need-to-knows ✸ Pets are NOT permitted in Clawcourt’s Sun Court. Leave your pets at home or you will be politely asked to leave. ✸ The Temple of Baskarr is a recognized religious site. Refrain from fighting within or around its borders. June 26th Craft Exhibition Begins 5 PM CST. Local artists and craftsmen gather beside the Baskarr Temple in Clawcourt and share their works. Due to limited space, dedicated tents will be provided for a select few craftsmen, and tables will be made available for all others. Take this opportunity to show off pieces unique to you and your culture! Potluck Begins 6 PM CST. The potluck, a communal gathering where each guest or group contributes a different, often homemade, dish of food to be shared. There are no expectations here. Bring a dish or utensils and prepare to dig in. June 27th Discus Throw Begins at 5 PM CST. An open event for everyone of all ages. The aim of this game is to throw a disc—called a discus—as far as you can down a field. Whoever throws their discus the farthest gets to keep it and have their name etched into its surface. The runner-up will receive a small medal. Wrestling Begins at 6 PM CST. Three bouts decide the winner in this wrestling tourney! The goal—and I mean the only goal—is to score a takedown. The winner takes home a commemorative trophy and bragging rights. Spoiler: Fighting Bracket & Rules The Rules No weapons of any kind except what nature gave you. You will be penalized for unsportsmanlike behavior, unnecessary roughness, and starting before the allotted time. The Gameplay Fighters enter the clinch, and contest each others roll. The winner then dictates a non-devastating takedown of their choice (ie, no forced injury). Fighters then get back up and reset to the clinch position for the next round. First person to score 3 takedowns win. The match will be refereed by Gwyndo. Stadium Race Begins at 8 PM CST. Competitors sprint alongside returning veteran Bakari who has won the stadium race three times in previous years! More than a few people have their eyes on this race, and it sounds like betting might be on in fervor this year to make up for previous losses. First place receives a trophy. Second place receives a plaque. Third place receives a medal. Who? Everyone. Yes, everyone. What? Social get-togethers and sports. When? June 26th and 27th. Where?
