Hello, and as the title reads, I think this could advance RolePlay to another level, by a lot. In a different thread, I asked about creating Gods. I think the idea should be open to everyone to create one, but they have to be admin approved to keep the server steady on the level of Gods being created. Once approved, The creator of the God will have to write lore for this new found God. The new God will be added to RolePlay, and will be recognized as a true god. There will be some standards to creating a God, though. An example below will show how this works, with examples from a God I will soon be writing lore for.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
God Name: Tundrux.

God of: The freezing cold and Night.

Blocks / Biome: Snowy Biome, Ice.

Color(s): White.

How to show faith for the God: Wearing white dyed leather armor, live in a snow biome, build a shrine to pray and give offerings of valuables, building and living with snow golems around your house / faction.

Additions (optional): Truce with zombies and skeletons (Creatures of the night that burn at day) until broken by dealing damage to them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If the Gods suggestion get added, the second part comes in; admin interaction, playing invisible as the approved Gods to answer prayers, playing as simple spirits around the tavern and Regalia, or simply narrating something as simple as a chandelier falling from the ceiling, spreading a fire. With the admins playing as Gods, when some one prays, the voice will be answered. The admin would open the chest, retrieve the items given from a chest, and leave a gift if it is felt necessary (This could be something as simple as a fortune I snowball for the God Tundrux if the gift is reasonably small. But if the gift is large, such as blocks of diamond, emerald or iron, the gift left could be something big, such as an enchanted tool / weapon renamed). And with this addition could be a prayer channel, where players could pray for the admins to hear.

If this gets accepted from staff, I will be opening up new additions to the Gods, such as spells for in game, not just RolePlay spells that deal with the God you worship, God temples where you choose to be the God and cannot change it for (A long time, perhaps.. 2 months). I hope this gets added, if so, this will be awesome. Thanks for your time and reading this.

If you wish to create your own faith, do so here.
Having the staff playing as Gods/Goddesses is awfully impractical, as they have have enough on their plate as it is.
To add on to that, technically not all of the gods are "real" in Aloria. By that I mean only one religion can be true. Therefor if a god were to be role-played as there would be noone following any other religion.

I agree with both of you, but why can there be only one god? By god I do not mean "he who created all", Rather one god that created the other gods to form Aloria and the other planets, giving the other gods elemental powers to form planets with differnt climates.

We want large scale religions to have a logical bases, e.g, Unionism, Old Gods, Faith of Estel etc are all based off factual events that happened in our lore.

That doesn't mean you can't have your own religion, but it must always be understood that these private religions will never be bigger than just sects. We want to keep religions as clear and simple as possible.

Hey, just read through the Wiki page for the Faith of Estel and I think there's a problem with "Mielikki's Dogma". It reads "
never forgetting to stray from the path of good"
, but shouldn't it read something along the lines of "remembering to never straying from the path of good"? It suddenly goes from 'balance with everything' to 'WE ARE ALL EVIL!'

I don't think homebrew religions will ever be extremely big in massivecraft but just one question for an admin probably what would happen if one somehow became really big would you work it into the lore or would it stay a sort of cult?

Wow. Good point, however, your fix is also grammatically incorrect x3

The original said "Never forgetting to stray from the path of good" Meaning you should not forget to stray from the path of good >u<
Your version said "Remembering to never straying-" which, despite not making us all evil >-< It's still not right...

My version would be "Yo dawg, b' a good Elf yeh? Yeh. There chue go."

Jk jk.

"Never forgetting to follow the path of good." or "Remembering to never stray from the path of good"

Now the best bit... To see if I get educated, constructive, or EVIL ratings.
xD

Oh sorry, I originally had "never straying from the path of good", but then I added "remembering to" to make it closer to the original. :P

Alternatively, no one can stop you from forming a little cult that views a character you might make as a god. That doesn't make them a god though, or give them god-like abilities. It does create an excellent con-man, or several unfortunately brainwashed people.

"Never forgetting to follow the path of good."
An elven scholar somewhere, confused by a recently scribed copy, just blew the dust off an old, original manuscript.

"...never failing to follow the path of good."

Ah, much better. Article updated.

this would be amazing, but it would take a TON of work. I myself have already thought of this, but it seems highly impractical.
You could have people apply to be gods, but we are all imperfect and would mess up every now and again.
There's always the option of "lets add a plugin", but that would take work too.

Massivecraft is good as it is, so lets not try to add small things that have a potential to be a little cool, but also the potential to ruin everything in RP.

Great idea though, if there was a way to pull this off without complications it would be awesome.

Demons execute the orders they are given/still being given, by the Archdemon Beheasel. If they are /all/ demons, then they still are given orders.

It's light RP in the worlds, not regalia. We... Tweaked the rules a little. I'm an independent demon now, and before you ask yes it's possible.

But in all honesty I think we should stick to our current way of gods where they are all based around the current lore, rather than try to create a huge list of gods that could or could not be lore compliant. I also honestly think that trying to implement this would simply require too much work for the staff, especially since the only department that would likely get involved in this project if it happened would be the lore staff.

I planned not for many gods, rather at most 10 (if the server handles it well). They could make it very hard to get a god officialy made.
