The Studienzentrum Holzburg für Politik und Wirtschaft (Holzburg Study Centre for Politics and Economics) is a Regalian based policy organisation specialising in political, military and economic affairs. Informally referred to as the denkfabrik, the organisation was formed by Calemberger academics in 258 AC and was established to provide a centralised body of philosophical and political research pertaining to the domestic and foreign affairs of Calemberg. In 304 AC, Aldrich II Typhonus took the helm as the youngest leader in the organisation's history and in keeping with his father Ulric's desires, moved the denkfabrik to Regalia to increase its scope of affairs. In the space of two and a half years operating from the Crown Isle, the group grew and began widening its scope to encompass Empire-wide ideas and approaches based on the traditional Calemberger ideologies under which it was founded. In 306 AC, Aldrich opened up a new wing of the denkfabrik to allow for general membership from political elites, philosophers and academics interested in developing policies for the Regalian state.

The denkfabrik has always served a number of roles since its conception, chiefly as a study centre for like-minded people to come together to debate and discuss policies surrounding political, economic and military affairs. The group's role developed as did its scope when it was relocated to Regalia and under the ambitious leadership of Aldrich II, the group began formulating and developing practical policy ideas that it could propose. The denkfabrik serves three key functions;​

• Policy Formulation: The organisation exists to create policy proposals that it submits to the state government and its various branches, often publicly releasing. The policies are often designed based on the central ideologies underpinning the organisation but are often joint proposals collated through collective research, debate and work by its experts.
• Research: The organisation is available for consultation with state institutions to analyse and investigate the effectiveness and implementation of legislation beyond the state government's own capacity. When the state legislates and wishes to find out the new law's effect on the general population, the organisation will conduct surveys and research to report on the impact and effects it has or has had.
• Education: The organisation hosts frequent seminars and discussions on a variety of topics, sometimes for beginners and others for seasoned political veterans. The aim is to make political affairs accessible to all by exploring basic concepts, theories and events to allow the general populace to better engage with politics.

To the esteemed Generaldirektor,

Recently I've been made aware of the existence of your organisation, and I am humbly requesting entry into it's ranks. I have the hopes that it shall guide my person to better serve the purpose of the Great Way, as laid out by the Holy Creeds.
My name may be unfamiliar to your person, as I am a recent arrival from the Princedom of Precaëlle, and although I am an Altalar I do hope my appointment as Court Arcanist to the court of his Imperial Holiness convinces you of my loyalties and good intentions.
As a non-ailor I may provide a unique point of reference to your organisation, having studied the ways and history of the Elven Empire of old in significant detail, whilst of course not wishing to interject such doctrine, but simply to provide a frame of reference to which can be deferred in the makings of such delicate matters as are sure to be discussed within your organisation.

I have always been cautious when interacting with alternate races, however your credentials suggest that caution lacks unsound judgement in your individual case. Whilst I confess I remain hesitant to accept your application off the bat considering I know very little of you and your expertise, I will offer you a chance you prove yourself. The chance to add a uniquely personal account of Elven politics, particularly the philosophy thereof to our research agenda intrigues me and so I offer you a small challenge. I wish you to plan a proposal to present to me in person regarding the Empire's diplomatic options with the Elven states currently at war with us, with a specific focus on whether we can change our approach. It doesn't have to be long, just bring some ideas so I can see if you suit our operations.
