Are Arachne being removed?We are reworking some of the animal races, because frankly, they were uncreative and insertions of dumb concept without much background thought.
The lore of the races will likely not change, however their visual and name will.
Noooooo why are they being removed.... I was probably like the first Arachne player.... I think.... They're so awesome!!!!I've seen a large increase in people playing Arachne of late, namely due to MPM I would think...
Too bad they're being removed.
And poor Melice ^-^;

This.Arachne -> Taurats
Taurats are a species of rare and often misunderstood insectoid race. They are closely related to spiders, but possess sapience and emotions. Physically, they lack the venomus bite that their feral cousins possess, and are actually fairly harmless even if angered. Generally small, Taurats are renowned for their artful work with silks and dyes, crafting the finest known garments for sleeping and beauty. Sadly, this had led to the enslavement of much of their race, and they do not fare well in captivity, often becoming ill and refusing to reproduce. As such, their kind is all but extinct in most regions of the world where 'civilized' people reside. This said, Taurats can be found in great numbers in the forest of Daendroc, where they live peacefully with the Yanar. Taurats are also found living a symbiotic lifestyle with the Chi'i, aiding them in the construction of homes and clothing in return for shared resources and protection. Taurats are exceptionally skittish in nature due to their treatment by most more dangerous races, but when in superior numbers and in territory they know they can easily set up traps and catch far more dangerous creatures within them. Despite their mistreatment, Taurats do not harm those who have been captured in their traps, instead releasing them near settlements and roadways to return to the 'civilized' world. Taurats are known as one of the least dangerous and more thoughtful and artful creatures in Aloria by all those who have been captured and released from a Taurat web city.

o_______oArachne are not coming back. If we were to keep them in for just 3 players, it would reek of favoritism. The race was unsalvagable from the start due to tragic usage in Regalia and the uncreativity of the general concept.
As a concept, the race also failed, producing too many limitations and kinks that many players could not comprehend or get around. We have to make considerations for the playability of races in Regalia in general, and as such, some cuts have to be made.
Those Archenes were just god rpers really... But yeah, gotta agree with this. Like Melford and I (which Melford is only one I know by name who is an Arachne q-q) And whoever else plays a good Arachne, I'd like to keep 'em as the last of their kin.I can definitely understand the removal of Arachne, especially since I have been seeing a lot more people playing them than I had expected (I saw like four or five different Arachne characters on Monday, within the same hour), but I think that the players using Arachne characters right now should at the very least be able to keep using them until they pass or leave Regalia forever.
Anyways, I like the new name for the Vespid, and you did a damn fine job on the artwork here, @MonMarty
Yeah, I know that those weren't all very good RPers. A fair amount of people hear about races such as the Arachne and think "OH MY GOD I CAN BE A GIANT SPIDER YES I'M GONNA DO THAT," followed by doing things completely contrasting with lore. (It's kinda the same thing as new players learning about the vampire plugin). But I do know that there are good Arachne characters (like Silverveil) that have influenced a few peoples' stories, and it would be a shame to have them, as well as their actions, voided entirely.
That would make sense if we ever said the races were playable. The races which can be chosen in-game have had very little actual lore background changes. The races that are up for scrapping are conceptual races that never made it into the game loop because their conceptualization was not done. It's like driving a car in only it's chassis and then complaining when the manufacturers change the body color from red to blue, or change it's engine performances. The players who chose to roleplay as unreleased races should have realized from the get go they were playing something that was still highly subject to change.I find the removal of races very disappointing I just hope the lore stabilizes to the point people can have a char for more then a few months before having to destroy it and make a new one. It can be very disheartening to those that spent so much time, money and creative energy on a character just to have to do it again as lore shifts over and over again. It's one thing for a character to die and be remembers for the deeds they had done it's another to for lore to say "hey yeah everything you did and were to everyone you interacted with never existed and or happened sorry. As for those that played Arachni wrong I think they should have been told that and it fixed threw RP or ignoring them as bad RP shouldn't be used as an excuse to remove a race if so vampire should have been removed some time ago.
I would like to be clear that I don't think the staff are doing horrible stuff far from it they are working with those that have issues to help everyone enjoy their time here is always wonderful to see only that. I'm only saying it can take the wind out of your sail when your character and lore suddenly clash. As I've lost two characters so far to lore changes and have only been here something like 6 months but I from my dealing with staff and the enjoyment of my time RP and OOC times with those here I have no want to go anywhere else anytime soon.
The backstory, no, but like the Thylans they will get a visual update that makes them a little less laughable.
