Hey guys,
I would like to adress something that I've been seeing a lot of in these pro-PvP threads, such as mine, @thor5648 and @Joshy54100 , which is that people think they are completely, and utterly helpless when "God PvPers" come knocking on their doors. I know many of the players who say this are experienced, and have had a share of PvP on the server, but it still seems like a majority really just aren't getting the full picture of how you can defend yourself. When players stronger then yourself come to your faction, you don't have to go out and fight them yourselves, but you also don't have to warp to Regalia. There are plenty of ways to fight your enemy indirectly, including traps, dungeons (with portals) swarming them with no items to weaken and damage their armor, cannons, dispensers or simply a well placed archery tower. Just another note, dying doesn't matter in terms of winning. Nobody surrenders because "they got killed 5 times". Of course it may not be the best mark on your "reputation", it's a game, and nobody really cares, as it really shouldn't matter to you if you lose nothing. The only real reason for surrendering is when you have expended so many resources, it's not worth the fight, and that can only happen if you use the resources. Go out with nothing, lose nothing.

THIS IS AN OPINION, NOT FACT.

If you were around for a while, you may have heard / seen a large faction with 150+ members or so called Thaelyn. They raided me and my first faction even though we were all noobs. We all fought back. We called in allies. In fact, we were able to gang up on some of them and actually kill them and get their stuff. They actually began to leave us alone because we became much more trouble than we were worth.

Or lock all your doors and stay inside...

This is basically how things go at Shizidao when we are outnumbered/outmatched:

1. If raiders are sighted, say warning alarm in f chat and instantly tp to f home.
2. Stay inside and send distress calls in ally chat. Ignore the flame and taunts from the invaders surrounding the f home.
3. Watch as 20-30 allies pour into your portal room, then come up to your f home to muster. Smile with an evil grin. >:)
4. Give the command to charge out of the f home. Kill a couple soldiers, then watch and laugh as the rest run away or pearl out.
5. Ignore the msgs from your enemy that flame and rage at you.

Even though me and my leader, Eagle_Son can defend ourselves most of the time, we have rigged our base with so many traps that if anyone showed up to attack, it would just be us dominating them the whole time. Everyone can make thier base like this, while at the same time making it "Look mighty fine".

I dont think it was such a good idea to release your raid plans to the public...

I remember when we did that in Zion, except with iron, chain, and flesh armored noobs. First time it was glorious, the enemy was swept away in a tide of frothing noob anger. Second time just ended with us being skull-split to death.

I am living proof that you needn't be afraid of raiders. Sure, they might be wearing some amazingly good armor with just-as-amazing weapons... but that's not a reason to give up. That's the time to use superior tactics. Speed, wolves, even monsters that spawn at night.

But, if you ignore everything else, remember this last bit: "Where there's a will, there's a way." ~Someone I don't know.

Molimo you are the reason I have hope for humanity. After I saw your performance at the PvP tourney I knew anyone can be a PvPr

Aren't you always outmatched ;)? Haha

Personally not one to back down from a scrap regardless of losing items, i even asked @Tuxyz to stay at mithril gates once just so i could go again and pretty much handed him a god sword xD i love fighting and dont particulary care for the whole "k/d" thing but the thing i do find is that while its easy to say "it doesnt matter about kills" it seems to be the prime thing thats thrown in someones face in 90% of raids.

If someone sallys forth to face thier raiders of higher level they get smashed and the raiders turn around calling them all sorts of things and throwing the fact that they died back in thier face. nobody likes smack talk tbh and it doesnt promote fun pvp when you get called "tryhard" "scrub" "noob" "fodder" etc etc when ppl try and fight.

I find if anything thats what ends the fight, when it resorts to childish name calling and people choose to rise above it and stop fighting because they cant be arsed to fuel the flame furthur.

Fight for the fight, not the KD.

(hell i even give the gear back if people ask nicely)

I think that was me, not Tuxyz/FubeCraft, but I may be wrong. XD

I remember back in a weak faction when we would ALWAYS charge out with no armor or weapons and punch until the raiders left. It may seem dumb at first but when the people that came to take your stuff lose their god weapons and start whining about it, that's when you realize that they really didn't accomplish anything but giving away free god weapons :P

Well.. at MTC we did it a bit diffrent. When the enemys would have killef us pvp noobs like 6 times, we would kill them. Taking their god weapons. When that was done and they started to cry about their items after we asked them to leave, we threw the items in lava...

The main thing I see is no one is creative with tactics anymore. People would rather hide behind rules and call hacks and aboose then actually thinking up some sort of a defensive plan. With good planning, I would say any faction stands a chance against raiders. I tested this theory myself and took out 2 very good pvpers in god armour with my nonpremium alt account. This can be seen even again with Mithril using Raynesummer as a maiar then having people lure an army of god premiums to their watery graves. If people would just stop and think for a minute, almost anyone can come up with a way to get at least 1 kill on far superior opponents.

As far as KD, I see it as a very quick efficient way to measure a battle, and it is something that cannot be argued over since it takes to seconds to turn on a recording software or screenshot all kills to un unbiasedly log KDs. Obviously when non pvpers are being raided by pvpers in god armour, I would go as far as counting 1 pvper death as 10 kills.

This post gives me goosebumps of justice for some reason.
