Staff Read This - Better Together Update - All Minecraft Platforms Soon To Be Cross Compatible

Massive is a Minecraft: Java Edition server, not a Minecraft server. As such it won't be compatible with the Better Together Update (BT).

Whether Massivecraft decides to change platforms is another question, but in terms of adding this server to the BT list, it's not gonna happen since well, there is no server for the BT Minecraft version.

The better together update has no effect on Java edition users and thus massive will not be cross-compatible unless they decide to set up a separate, compatible server. The BT update includes versions that use the bedrock operating system or similar, and includes Windows 10 Edition, Pocket Edition, Xbox Edition (I think) and possibly another edition or two like play station.

From the Minecraft wiki:

The Better Together Update is an upcoming update to Pocket Edition, Windows 10 Edition, Gear VR Edition, Apple TV Edition, Fire TV Edition, and a new version of the Xbox One Edition and Nintendo Switch Edition. It will be released for Pocket Edition as version 1.2, and as a new version for the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Beta testing for the update began on July 31, 2017.[1], and it was submitted to certification for 9 of the 10 platforms on September 15, 2017. It will release as soon as it has passed certification on all 10 platforms. The update for the Xbox One Edition will be free to gamers who own a digital copy or have played the disc version for at least 5 hours in the past 12 months. The legacy versions for the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One will no longer receive updates once the full version is released.[2]

The official name for the update, Better Together Update, reflects the planned addition of cross-platform compatibility between the Pocket Edition (Android/iOS only), Windows 10 Edition, Xbox One Edition, Gear VR Edition, and Nintendo Switch Edition. The editions will be merged under one title - "Minecraft"[3].

With the release of the Better Together Update, the
original PC version, which is officially named Minecraft but commonly called "the Java edition", will be renamed to Minecraft: Java Edition to distinguish it from the cross-platform version.[3]

Will the Staff consider putting the time and effort into working on a server compatible with the new version? I'm assuming that doing so would mean having to rework most of the plugins, but Massive might miss out on a large boost to the playerbase.

EDIT: Not to mention, if a plugin rework were done, and people migrated accounts, everyone would likely lose their current MCMMO progress. Unless there's a workaround, but I wouldn't know.

The risk isn't worth the reward

Wasn't this discussed on a different thread a few months ago?
