Spleef Arena For Massivecraft?

Spleef Arena - What is it?

For those of you that might not be to sure about what a spleef arena is then allow me to explain in a simple way.
  • Usually 1 vs 1 in a small, flat arena where the objective is to make your opponent drop through a hole either you or him have made
  • The floor is insta-breakable and under the floor there is something that kills the player
  • The floor can be either grass, dirt, snow and so on if the arena is set up with each player being equipped with a shovel. The WAR plugin also allows us to make the floor out of any material as we can set it to insta-break
  • We can also make a larger arena, set the entire floor to tnt crates and equip everyone with flame bows
Why should we have this on MassiveCraft?

Personally I think that having a spleef arena will bring a fun aspect of pvp to those that don't enjoy equipping weapons and pounding the living poop out of each other.
A spleef arena could also be used for fun tournaments.

Having played a bit of spleef arenas myself, I find them quite enjoyable and they can indeed become quite intense if you're in a championship match.

I hope you all will take the time to vote in the poll so I can determine the "need" for such a concept in MassiveCraft.

i would add that you get 3 snowbals/eggs to trow. oten i had the problme we both had trapped ourself so we couldn't reach the other person and then it became a matter of who wanted to wait until the other one jumps in the lava
 
This is a great idea, maybe consider something like this?
That's a great spleef map, or maybe we could make a contest about making spleef maps for massivecraft. People could build various spleef maps in single player and the best 3 maps would be choosen and people'd be able to play on them.
Spleef is really great fun, and if this WAR plugin allows for restarting the destroyed arena then there's literally nothing stopping staff from adding spleef arenas. no need to restart anything manually.

Ooo, I support this. Would this be in the mini game world?
 
I've seen in the main world (The world with all the portals) at the minigame section it does mention spleef as one of the gamemodes, maybe it'll be added soon? I hope so, it'll be nice to have a relaxing minigame once in a while with a community you know. :)
 
katiesc You are quite correct that it would be in the minigame hub.

KyleDinny I hope that this poll may prove a point that the playerbase wants this game-mode.

I am very surprised that you have such strong feelings towards putting down this idea. It likely would not be in the roleplay world, but would be a minigame. Thus it would not interfere with the main server and IMO there is little reason why anybody would not want a spleef arena. If you do not like it, simply stay in the roleplay universe.

I personally would love a spleef arena, though I probably wouldn't go to it often it would be fun to play more minigames with the people you roleplay with OOC

This can be arranged, my good man. Which of your previously stated "options" would you prefer being subjected to first? :-)

As for everyone else discussing the location of such a mini-game it would definitely be placed in the mini-game universe and have no roleplay purpose in any way. It's purely for fun.
 
.......I DID NOT SEE ANYWHERE IN THE ORIGINAL POST ABOUT THE MINIGAME UNIVERSE!!!!!! Put it in then, I see no problem with it there.
 
I'd love to see not only this, but even more maps and gamemodes for the minigame universe. It can be very fun.
