HELLA OUTDATED
OOC NOTE:
Might wanna loop it. I don't know how long it'll take you to read. I tried not to make this over-the-top long.

Tae's accent isn't here, because the entire time they're speaking Sofaal in this story.
"Cagan. Cagan Fa'Salor. Where is he?"
>Date: July 31st, 303 AC
>Time: Afternoon.
>Location: Korbamakora, Songaskian Masaya, Farah'deen
Taeron moved to push through a crowd of people. Soldiers, commanders, medics, and those alike. The military had just returned back from Regalia after the Hadravian war. A million reunions seemed to be happening at that moment, but Taeron couldn't find his brother anywhere.
Before becoming separated, the Fa'Salor duo promised to meet up in their home in Korbamakora once they returned. Emile and Seydou had to have been around somewhere, as they were still supposed to be stationed back here, in their home.
"Fa'Salor!"
Tae quickly turned around. Emile. His eyes began scanning the crowd rapidly, until he spotted his best friend and Seydou, moving over to them. The wind of Farah'deen's deserts gently blowing up against his face. It was good to see the deserts again.
"It's good to see you back. And in one piece at that." Emile sent a light punch to Taeron's chest, then glanced around, "Where's Cagan?"
"I can't find him. I don't know where he is."
Seydou rolled his eyes, teasing Taeron with a laugh, "Don't tell me you're overreacting again. You do this shit all the time. He's probably getting off the boats still."
"Ah. Come on bruvs. We'll go find him right now. Like Seydou said, I bet he's on the ship too."
Taeron had this same instance happen before. When he becomes separated from Cagan, he internally freaks out. The some-what young Songaskia had already lost everyone prior to this. Cagan was all he had left. Maybe Seydou and Emile were right. Maybe he was just overreacting.
The trio arrived at the shipyards not but moments later. The shipyards genuinely were really even shipyards. More like a river locked in between millions of dunes of sand that were visible for miles. A cloudless sky hung overhead, the sun beating down on them as they began waiting for what seemed like forever. Cagan never came off the boats. It was taking too long, and now the trio seemed to be getting desperate.
"Come on Taeron. Emile, stay here. We're going to go check the house real quick."
"Gotcha. I'll wait on you guys."
Seydou looked to Taeron, briefly nodding. Taeron returned the nod, and the duo moved off towards the house- leaving Emile to stand on the docks of the river. The sound seemed to fade away the further they moved from the docks. It was late at night now. The gleaming and shining sands of Farah'deen had dulled, leaving the desert to now appear as the silhouettes of mountains.
The now duo stepped through the city streets of their home. All of the sound had ceased, and the city was silent for the night. The occasional animal croaking out a noise of sorts from their stables, or a rogue scurrying along in the night, but other than that- it was quiet.
Tae stepped up to the stairs of his home, Seydou staying close behind.
A man sat on the porch. Not just any man, though. A general. The man stood, looking to Taeron, and clasping his hands in front of him,
"Taeron."
Taeron stood at attention, offering the man a salute, "General Malick."
The man shook his head, moving to wipe something out of his eye,
"No. No need for formalities, son. It's not the time for that."
Tae seemed confused. Upon hearing the words, he turned back to Seydou to show his friend his visible confusion. Seydou offered a shrug in response, nodding his head towards Malick, who stood waiting for Taeron to look back at him.
"Sorry sir. I.. don't understand. Something wrong? It's the dead-late of night, and I expected you to reconvene with family. You don't ever come here unless you come to check on Cagan and I."
Malick exhaled through his nose. Obviously, he was preparing himself for something. What. What could it have been that he must have sat on the porch waiting hours for. What did he want to tell Taeron.
"Tae. Cagan.. He.."
Taeron looked down for a moment, then up to make eye-contact with Malick. A cold, emotionless expression quickly washed over his face. He was bracing himself for whatever he was about to be told. Seydou continued to stay in the back, pursing his lips as he looked off to the side. False hope- that's what Seydou had given Taeron.
"He didn't make it back."
".. What do you mean he didn't make it back?"
"He went down in battle. Attacked by a Regalian soldier in the heat of it all. He's gone. I'm.. I'm sorry."
Taeron froze up completely. Guilt rushed through him. The last person he had. The person he had almost technically raised. So many amazing memories, times spent, things done. His smile. Seeing him everyday. It was..
It was gone.
His brother. Died to the hands of the Ailor. Some sun-forsaken Ailor, and he wasn't there to stop it. He couldn't save Cagan. He should have been with him. He should have, but he wasn't.
He wasn't he wasn't he wasn't.
Seydou didn't know what to say, as he was just as shocked as Taeron was currently. Silence. If the silence wasn't ringing beforehand, it was now without a doubt. Malick looked to Tae, moving to put a hand on his shoulder.
"He went down a fighter. We all know he di-"
Taeron pushed his hand away, sighing, "I appreciate it, Karim. I do."
".. We have his remains if yo-"
"Can you leave him alone for just a fucking second, General. Give him some room to breathe."
Malik turned to Seydou, who was currently standing with his fists clenched, eyes seeming as if they were lit aflame. Malik nodded, sighing as he moved to pinch the bridge of his nose, and begin his way off.
"Make sure he doesn't do anything rash, San'dora. We all know what happened when Amadou passed on for judgement."
As Seydou went to respond to his higher-up, the door to the Fa'Salor home clicked shut. Taeron was gone, leaving the other two Songaskia outside in the dark of the outside. A Fa'Salor flag adorned with it's crest fluttering in the wind that lightly passed through was the only noise.
Instead of responding, Seydou moved past Malik, aiming to enter the house, before-
"Hey! Seydou! Was Cagan here? The boats stopped coming in for the nigh-"
"Shut it, Emile!"
Malik turned to Emile, shaking his head. The elder Songaskia moved to lead Emile off after that, leaving Seydou and Taeron alone at the now almost-empty home that once housed a family. But now- only a single lone Songaskia with a name that no one would remember by the end of the following year.
TL;DR:
Taeron's brother Cagan dies in Hadravian War. This is the aftermath.
