- Unionist Calhad Skill has been added as a Proficiency to support the Order of Calhad
- The Order of Batius was probably not going to work since it has a number of problems, notably the lack of cross-race presence and gender stratification. The Order of Calhad is an entirely new concept that does not replace the Order of Batius but creates a new alternative with some religious spice in the resurrection mechanic because that turned out really well for the Kathar, so the Unionists could do with one too. It's not exclusively Unionism, any race can participate, and it has a curious implementation of all new Fusion Faiths to help integration kind of like half-faiths.
- Otr's Mist has been implemented as a memory lapse abduction drug. This is to help abductors ensure that their identity remains unknown to their victims, which are proportionally protected by the rules.
- Essentially because Maim and Kill perms are now 100% protected to the players this creates a weird situation where players who are abducted don't actually have to realistically fear-rp after release. In fact, they can be as big of a badass as they want while abducted and will fear no consequences. The rules even dictate that they must be released the moment they get bored and haven't been roleplayed with for over 24 hours, meaning their abductors would quickly get revealed and thot-crushed for their efforts.
- As such, to prevent this from happening, we implemented Otr's Mist which can be used to hide the identity of abductors to a perfect degree. This was considered the preferable solution to creating rule enforced Fear-rp which doesn't happen anyway.
- Secondly, we are simplifying the imprisonment rules. Previously there was this strange "You can only be held in prison for 15 minutes" and "a abductee must be released the moment they get ignored or bored in roleplay, regardless of IC proceedings". This is now simplified to: "Those imprisoned either by criminals or guards /should/ be roleplayed with, but are under no obligation of being released prematurely. Lore Staff should be contacted by the imprisoned if they believe they are being unreasonably deprived of roleplay, after which the Lore Staff will mediate, but no rule exists anymore that can compel the release of a prisoner.
- It is currently too easy to absolutely destroy someone or a group of people for having abducted one person. These two changes should hopefully but the fear back into imprisonment and abduction, instead of making it a badass victim scheme.
- Character Application Template has been updated two ways:
- Preferred Weapon is now a mandatory point in Basic Information but only IF your character has combat skills.
- The Personality section has been completely revised as per suggestion from Rochelle_. The Personality paragraphs were always a challenge even for senior writers, and one often found that players could not consistently owe up to the personality that was written, instead of how they played it in the end. As such, we replaced the 5 main paragraphs with a number of questions which require much less content, but a bit more character exploration. The point of these new questions is, much like a character prompt or study, to cause the player to think about their character in situational scenarios, and for their personality to be carried forward in how they answer. It also sets out a good reminder to those making characters, that a varied personality and the capacity to respond realistically to for example fear, stress or happiness, is an important component in creating good characters, more so than explaining the difference in their behavior towards friends and strangers anyway.
- The Special Permission Page has two new Permissions, the Calhad Gladiator and Calhad Custodian for roleplay jobs.
- Dragon Knowledge as a proficiency has officially been split from Eastern Knowledge which reflects more on the Aether/Naether lore, and less about Dragons, which is its own collection.
