Alright Zoe must calm down before she starts fighting.

Let's have a little chat, all of us. I was scrolling through PMC, looking to find some inspiration for a new skin, when I come across this.
https://www.planetminecraft.com/skin/elizabeth-moreau---sweater/
Now, it's one thing if you want to use someone else's skin, I get that. It's perfectly acceptable in my eyes to use one of my skins as long as it doesn't lA lot of people have had times where you steal a skin and forget to properly ask. I've done it alot myself, and I end up apologizing and taking it off.
It's one thing to do that. But to take a skin, not ask permission to use it, barely change then PUT IT ONLINE FOR EVERYONE TO USE WITHOUT ANY CREDIT AT ALL. You've committed a cardinal sin.

Do NOT do that. Don't. You're asking for a whole world of pain.

Then show proof instead of making a giant post about it when this person doesn't even play on massive anymore.

But why not message them before airing dirty laundry on a public forum?
Feels really #exposed tier.

The PMC staff won't do anything, by the way. I tried having a stolen skin taken down before but they didn't accept my side by side proof.

You will likely never see the skin being used. If you see it being used on Massive, then report it as there are things to be done involving skins and role play. But as stated above, that player has been inactive for many months so the likelihood of you needing to report them is low, but if it comes up you are able to.

That post is a year old and I'm pretty sure the user was already slammed for stealing skins. I don't know why you need to make a PSA instead of reporting it to be taken down. This only incites a witch hunt.

No way of closing the thread I don't think. I wanted to take the advice of presenting evidence to PMC staff, but Ryria already said that they didn't accept her side of the proof.

No, what I'm saying is, why was this thread needed, especially given the age of the post? I've had my old Silven skin stolen and re-uploaded, and I just went "Oh well I guess". It sucks, but you can only report it and move on. To me, seeing this you dug up an issue that was handled (that player was SLAMMED with player justice in the sense they were basically shamed), for.. What? I think people already know it's horrid to reupload skins, but the people who will do it, well, they'll do it anyway.

My commissioned skin in question, for anyone curious. It's old, but.. That's Rhov. And he was a mage back then, ironically, not a mercenary. It's just sat up there and I kinda stopped caring. At least people like my character design.

honestly if you put like a 4 pixel derp face on the skin (maybe even under a layer) not only can you point it out os some lazy person steals your skin but you can also look straight up and mess with people by turning off your hat layer.

You can't do anything about people stealing your skin that you made. People will always find ways to claim credit for skins that they didn't make; they'll just remove the water mark on the skin or they'll change it someway. You need to keep in mind that there is multiple Minecraft websites were people can post skins and take credit for it even though they didn't make it. Most of the time they keep that report button there because I think they have too (Laws and stuff, I don't know)

Anyway, why would you care if someone steals your skin outside of MassiveCraft? I know it's annoying but there really isn't anyway to stopping it. Moderators on those websites don't care because they don't want to go through a process in which won't at all affect them if they didn't go through it in the first place... It's not like you'll sue them because someone stole your Minecraft skin.

To avoid it in the future, post your skins on PMC first, with disclaimers about not using them on Massivecraft, then when it comes up you can show PMC staff your post came first and thats usually enough to get stuff removed. Its slow because they moderate hundreds of posts a day, but it works mostly.

Adding "watermarks" in the empty space of skin files is good too. They get removed by competent thieves but idiots will forget them sometimes and that's pretty damning if they do, upload a really long gif of you downloading the skin, opening it, and looking at your initials next to the head lol.
