Have you ever wondered if you could drink an Allar under the table? Well, look no further - House Cadieux presents not one, not two, but three opportunities (participants pending) to attempt just that in three rounds of Anglian Shuffle - one Core, one Calemberg, one Ithanian - in an attempt to indulge our love of fine liquor and fine company.

Who:
Any signed up and approved to play, up until the cap, as well as their plus-ones. Noble-focused.

What:
A three-round Anglian Shuffle Tournament!

When:
Saturday, October 3. Time will be announced based on widest participant availability.

Where:
The Cadieux Heerlebau Estate.

First place will be awarded a free barrel of Buck and Bramble liquor of their choice, as well as two thousand Regals (prog).

Second place will be awarded a free half-barrel of Buck and Bramble liquor of their choice, as well as one thousand Regals (prog).

Third place will be awarded a free quarter-barrel of Buck and Bramble liquor of their choice.

Most fun player (per vote of players and plus-ones) will be awarded a free barrel of Buck and Bramble liquor of their choice, as well as five hundred Regals (prog).

Scores will be added and averaged over three rounds with the scores inverted (i.e. first place is worth 10 pts, second is 9 pts, etc.). The players with the highest averaged scores will be awarded places corresponding.

This is OOC information!

We’ll be playing Anglian Shuffle in the estate by the standard rules laid out on the page. Drinks taken will be gulps of a high-proof liquor (specifically a Sollerian brandy), since we’ll be doing three rounds - one for each variation of the game. Rolls will be /roll 20 for both the brandy’s high liquor content and the fact that even regular games tend to run long.

Lady’s Shine will be provided between rounds (when a player falls out, the alchemy will be administered in order to participate in the next round) and at the end of the tournament, at the player’s discretion (who are we to tell you that you can’t do drunk RP?). During the Ithanian variation only, being sick on a drawn three will lower the ‘drunk score’ by 25% (i.e. anyone at 100 who draws this card and is sick will have their new score as 75).

In the interest of fairness, any and all Allar players will ICly be given a higher-proof liquor and do /roll 25 instead so everyone has a shot at winning. For time’s sake, we’ll be capping the participants at nine. All the drunk scores will be kept track of with a little spreadsheet I put together that automatically totals the scores once you put them in - mental math is a headache and it saves us from having to go “drunk score 57))” every round, so we can focus on the RP in-game. This spreadsheet also has tabs with the current standings and what each variation’s rules are for easy access.

Since not everyone wants to do public drunk RP, we’ll be putting a bit of a limit on our hedonism! That is - each player of the game may name a plus-one (or a plus-two, if they’re horrible at getting home with just one helper) that may come and watch but may not participate, subject to the approval of the hostess. People who aren't playing or plus-ones cannot attend to keep a bit of a lid on it all.

I’ll pick from the forum thread here and assemble the most fun game - I’ll contact the folks over forum PM, so make sure you're keeping an eye on that! If there’s enough interest, we might end up hosting two tourneys if we can’t fit everyone into the first one.

I’ve had Shuffle games last a while before, so if it ends up dragging super long, I’ll step in to speed it up a little bit. Please plan to stay for all three rounds - it makes it so much easier to manage without swapping in per-round.

Time will be put onto the calendar once decided.
