There's incredible opportunity here for enhanced gameplay in every area, and the real winner, I feel, will be the specialist. With only a five minute cool down, there's little reason not to carry around a cut-and-paste build in a text-editor for just about every task. (Or, to turn your character's changing closet, like mine, into a gallery of signs http://www.massivecraft.com/massivetraits#signs)

What do you plan on using when mining, rp'ing a specific race, skilling-up, playing pvp support, cracking skulls, or traveling across a continent?

levers

Edit: Here's an example (using the /t set command now)

The Enduring Carnifex 150/10 (premium)
This guy is a bit of a tank. The Starve can be annoying, but it can be swapped for harmwater depending on the forecast.

Unholy
UnarmedVulnerable
MiningFatigue
StarveDarkness

AxeExpert
AxeResistant
Absorption2
HealthBoost2
HealStrike
WitherStrike

Code:
/t set Unholy UnarmedVulnerable MiningFatigue StarveDarkness AxeExpert AxeResistant Absorption2 HealthBoost2 HealStrike WitherStrike

it would make the axes buff: armor breaker not do damage, but would cause axes to do 1+ damage to the wearer of the armor, it makes a difference defensively but isn't op to the point axes have no effect on them. also, I just like explaining my things.

Human:
Colonist:
When using tree feller on trees a 50% chance per log to receive two logs.
Shepherd:
When using shears a 33% chance to receive double the wool from sheep
Elf:
Eldar:
+10% Bow Damage
Isldar:
Gains the Health regeneration and Speed I potion affects when in the snow.
Shendar:
Gain the Health regeneration affect when in light level lower then 4.
Grondar:
+12% Damage with unarmed. Raw meat fills the same amount of hunger as if it was cooked.
Drowdar:
+8% Damage with Unarmed, Axes, Swords, and Bows. +12% Damage from magical sources.
Maiar:
Mer Maiar:
Absorption II when in Water.
Predator Maiar:
+8% Damage when in water. Uncooked food fills the same amount as if it was cooked.
Reef Maiar:
After not moving in water for 10 seconds they gain the Invisibility potion effect as long as they do no move.
Shepherd Maiar:
+40% Faster swim speed compared to all other Maiars. Slowness I when on land. Do not loose hunger while swimming.

Just a couple Ideas I had. For obvious reasons the traits of the specific subraces are mutually exclusive.

Woah. I went to sleep, woke up, and now there are MassiveTraits everywhere. Has it been launched?

@Ryciera

I think @levers is referring to traits you can find ingame, not new traits.

@Nico07291 That's correct. Builds using the new traits. Here's one I'm playing around with:

(premium) Carnivorous Archer w/sword backup
--still a wip. ignoring things I can handle with pots and focusing on wep. resistance since it seems like a good value. Could add harm strike by removing blind or stun if not playing a support role to other melee players.

negatives
-20 carnivore (love that steak)
-20 UnarmedInept
-20 AxeInept
-50 ArcheryVulnerable (other archers? bah)
-50 HarmWater (why swim at a time like this?)
(-160)

positives
+50 ArcheryExpert
+50 AxeResistant
+50 SwordResistant
+50 BlindnessImmune (or no long distance archery)
+100 BlindnessStrike (or stunstrike)
(+300)
=140

Throw in SwordInept and you can add HealMeditation, which would probably be useful as an archer, if getting attacked by other archers.

@Ryciera

You forgot the Wulong.

Why does everybody keep forgetting the Wulong?

I think races are a thing of the past outside RP now, I can see it being more a class system. Like @levers said, you can swap around every 5 minutes, so less of a choice compared to races...

For out of PvP I like to use:

/t a NightVision
/t a Carnivore
/t a Healthboost
/t a AxeVulnerable
/t a Haste +50
/t a Speed +50

Qadir Sun-Priest (Premium):
+50 Holy
You're a Priest, of course you have this trait .
+20 HealSunlight
Your devotion to the Sun allows you to tap directly into its life giving properties
+100 Fireball
You picked up fire magic at a young age, and spent many long hours training in the temples.
-25 StarveWater
Used to the secluded temple life, and coming from the barren desert of Farah'Deen, you find swimming very difficult
-20 AxeInept
Your Magical training has given you little time to focus on other forms of combat
-20 UnarmedInept
Ditto
+40 FireImmune
Through repeated failure with your fire spells, you've built up a nearly inflammable skin. Of course, the scars are far less desirable.

Commands:

/t a holy
/t a fireball
/t a axeinept
/t a unarmedinept
/t a fireimmune
/t a starvewater
/t a healsunlight

This is a 100% pvp build i made up and might not be the best but i use it atleast so here we go.

Pros:
Axe Expert: Dmg dmg dmg dmg
Axe Resistant: Less dmg dmg dmg dmg
Speed2: With this one i won't spent time of brewing speed pots and i wouldn't need to drink/throw a pot to run faster in pvp.
FeedAlways: Well this trait might be my favourite since i spare 1 of my hotbar slots in pvp and i wouldn't have to eat food in the middle of a fight which have got me killed before...
Healthboost2: More Sustain in a fight is always good.

Cons:
To make this build work it requires alot of -50 debuffs so here we go.
ArcheryVulnerable: I would never use bows in a pvp fight.
UnarmedVulnerable: This is not something i would consider a threat since i most likely would kill him with my axe before he even gets to hit me.
Nonivore: Who needs food when i have FeedAlways?
MiningFatigue: This is a funny one. Most people thinks that having miningfatigue lowers your attackspeed in pvp but guess what? it doesn't! http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Potion_effects

This was the hardest choice on my whole list and might be situational:
Harmwater: I would never decide to take a trait that lowers my hunger since i could risk running low on hunger in a pvp fights and being blind wouldn't be good either...
No "maiar" raids or raiding in rain for me basically.

Vampire:
  • +20 Night Vision (can be traded out for +30 Fall Immune)
  • +50 Jump
  • +30 Feed Strike (can be traded out for any number of strikes that could be associated with a vampire attack. Such as hunger, starve, poison, nausea, etc)
  • +50 Unarmed Expert (can be traded out for +50 Unarmed Resistant)
  • -20 Carnivore (can be traded out for -50 Nonivore, depending on how you got your meat)
  • -60 Harm Sunlight
  • -75 Unholy
(Note: This is cultured towards non-prems. Obviously, you wouldn't have to trade out as much as a premium)
I purposely excluded Water Breathing and Undead Truce as I have not seen it mentioned in the new vampire lore. I have also removed any weapons vulnerable because Unholy already deals you 50% more damage (which corresponds to wooden and holy water weakness).

I also cultured the vampire build to my two characters
Rip:
  • +30 Fall Immune
  • +50 Jump
  • +50 Slow Strike (to substitute for his Hex Magic, can be substituted for +30 Feed Strike)
  • +50 Speed (may be substituted for +30 Steal Immune)
  • -75 Unholy
  • -20 Carnivore (can be traded for -50 Nonivore)
  • -60 Harm Sunlight (may be traded out for -60 Blindness depending on the situation)

Gabriel:
  • +30 Steal Strike (can be substituted for +30 Feed Strike, depending on his motive)
  • +20 Night Vision (can be substituted for +50 Heal Darkness)
  • +50 Unarmed Expert
  • +50 Jump
  • -75 Unholy
  • -20 Carnivore (almost never traded out for -50 Nonivore, due to most of his killings)
  • -60 Harm Sunlight

Axe PvP Kit

Positives (Total 300, 5 traits):

AxeMastery +50 (More damage dealt)
AxeResistant +50 (Less damage taken from axes, which is the most popular weapon)
HealthBoost2 +100 (Getting 4 extra hearts is helpful)(Premium Exclusive)
PoisonStrike +50 (Poisoning the enemy really helps)
SlownessStrike +50 (This + poison can be REALLY annoying to an enemy)

Negatives (Total 160, 5 traits):
Herbivore -20 (I only eat crops like carrots or bread anyways, so this is an easy negative trait to handle)
ArcheryInept -20 (I have never used archery on Massive before because I've found the lag makes it hard to hit people sometimes)
UnarmedInept -20 (Don't often use unarmed, no need to normally)
UnarmedVulnerable -50 (Not many people use unarmed, and even with taking +25% more damage, it deals so little damage I'd probably be fine)
MiningFatigue -50 (Generally not needed to break blocks in PvP, so this should be fine)

300 - 160 = 140 Trait Points (150 is maximum for Premium players)

5 + 5 = 10 Traits (Maximum for Premium players)

Supper Unkillable Best Build -

- StarveWatver
- StarveLight
- StarveSunlight
- StarveDarkness
- HarmSunlight
- Shriek
- More Shriek
- Spam the f*** out of Shriek

Instant win.

This is the build I use specifically for my character Selena Sictor in relation to her personality traits and physical issues.

Stealstrike
Stealrevenge
Stealimmune
Harmrevenge
Poisonrevenge
Healdarkness

Archeryvulnerable
Axeinept
harmsunlight

As a maiar i got :
WaterBreathing
Nonivore
WaterFeed
FlyWater

StarveSunlight

For RP i also got:
AxeVulnerable
SwordVulnerable

PoisonStrike
PoisonRevenge
PoisonImmune

(All three because of the species my character is based on)

I should cram in NightVision, as a maiar, but I don'tt know what I'd remove.
Also I wanted to take ArcheryInept, ArcheryVulnerable and UnarmedResistant, but not enough slots ;(
