Serverwide War? (ps Do Explain If You Say No)

I have recently been told of a serverwide war and I have many questions about this odd battle. like for instance did it effect roleplay at all (because I would find it AMAZING if Regaila was surrounded in barracks with enemy naval fleets attacking) also, why did it happen? Did a big faction (looking at you Mithril) start to kill EVERYTHING or was this the OOC version of the crysant war? (sorry if I spelled that wrong) and finally was it good enough to happen again? (If so I will make another one 8-)>:))

Hehe...he...you really think Mithril could start an all-out war on Aloria?

But...I've never heard of any server-wide wars as of late, if there are any.
 
I remember this, though I joined the server right after the final battle....I was very isolated during that time and don't really remember a lot of details. The FAHDOOM Cannon (or wtf it's called) was used though.

I think that's what you're taking about, right?​

I wouldn't think Mithril would attack all of Aloria ._.

I am at the moment (When I get unbanned) Working on securing trade routes with every major and semi-periphery faction on the server in hopes that peace can be created via wealth, because who doesn't like money >:)

The War you're talking about is the Imperial War. It was (in my opinion) one of the best pieces of organic roleplay Massivecraft ever had. Not a lot of physical information is still around, but if you ask most veterans on the server I'm sure they could give you a good story or two about the war. The war never really affected me directly (except for a rather unpleasant night where the Imperials invaded Zion and got about 300 kills on us within 3 hours), but I do remember that it was pretty epic. The "evil side" were the Imperials, who were basically mainly made up of Argonia and Valyria. They tried to expand their empire by raiding factions and demanding they pay around 100 silver a month in tribute (at least I remember it that way). The war had a few notable events, with one example being the Red Wedding. Basically it was a roleplay wedding in which Mecharic was the priest and a lot of people had gathered for in a faction. While the wedding was going on, Valyrians sneaked into the building and massacred all of the inhabitants.

Oh yeah? Well in Game of Thrones did the priest at the wedding scream at the raiders "I'M A PRIEST, SO YOU'RE ALL GOING TO GO TO HELL!" before dying to an axe? Anyway, the FHFDoom cannon mentioned early in this thread was actually made in one of the largest battles during the Imperial War. Basically Valyria had invaded 9th Legion and started an 8 hour long battle, which would go from the 9th Legion town of Roma to the Valyrian base. There in the Valyrian base, a couple of members of TheOldMan (at least I think that was the faction) built a gigantic statue of the member FHFDoom (former member of Valyria that was kicked, apparently there were some tensions between the leader of Valyria and FHFDoom). The statue of FHFDoom was rather interesting as it was basically a bunker on the inside, with cannons on its head/eyes. The statue became really well known due to the fact that MonMarty (pretty sure about this) shouted while standing on top of the statue "FIRE ZE FHFDOOM CANNON" before flaming death and destruction burst forth from the statue.
 
FHFDoom Cannon ahh good times indeed. It was a statue made of cannons that fired upon the Valyrian Citadel
 
Ya kids! Waves cane! Ya hear de old speak of the imperial war hmm? The battle of eve yes? Ah I fought in that one many a year ago lemme tell ya kiddies the tale. Starting at 9th legion around 12 pm, on and off fights raged through the day with essentially Valyria against the server. Valyria wanted complete control over Aloria, and had the strongest factions at their back. Anyways the fight got to the Valyria citadel around 6 pm. Starting with Alamut watching Valyria vs. 9thlegion and a few others, the battle slowly grew. The old man joined in, argonia, all together around 80 people there, small fights all over that lil island. Anyways monmarty built a statue of fhfdoom, former Valyria member, and fired canons from his eyes. This thing was MASSIVE. It looked like Valyria was outnumbered and outmatched, but along came disturbed and thor from Alamut. Well we pushed back the lines with skull split, and arguably won the battle for Valyria. It was a day to remember, and one I keep in my heart as one of the best days ever on massivecraft, where rpers and pvpers alike participated in one huge battle. Ahh that's all story time for now children.

I was just a minor legionary in 9thLegion when war broke out between us and our former allies Argonia, I remember spending time sneaking into Argonia for no particular reason than because I could, and I couldn't really do much else.
 
I dislike the thought of Server wars. It divides a very large chunk of the community, flame is constant, trashtalk, and as well as people quitting is a main result. (From what I have seen/Infer) Sure it's fun for a good few minutes, but you go down as one of the people involved in the community division.
 
Eh... the last true server wide war was probably either Imperials V1 or the "Age of War" that preceded the role-play initiative by staff.

they can start a RP war all over Aloria, but i dont think they are capable of doing so... its been known that every single faction that tries that always ends up losing in the end.
 
T'would be a rather interesting an rp event if you considered shifting into that period of time, possibly having lesser Regalians or whatever it happens to be ordered into a major war. I personally would par-take in such an event as it would create interesting additions to backstories and productivity of roleplay and time progression throughout Aloria, making interesting stories to pass on through lifetimes and giving more things to have in common with other characters, say; War-wound, battle stories, alliances, enemies, poetry, an introduction to a wider range of weaponry and hobbies. I personally support this idea. Plus, its shifting from common things like a Nobles game of "Monopoly" and the distinguish-ment of races but not really genders, seeing as in that period there were roles of nurses for women and men were fighters, seeing as how it was considered.
