FROM THE DESK OF THE SECRETARY FOR THE FINANCES
20 SEPTEMBER 307AC
20 SEPTEMBER 307AC
To the Citizens of the Great Empire of Regalia,
Our government is one that stands with its people ever more. In times of peace and times of war, our mission remains the same; to serve the Regalian Empire and its people. We do this as best as we can, often staking much on matters we endeavor to solve. I hope you will join me in reflecting on the positive that my office has sought to bring to Regalia. The edicts that follow elaborate on the endeavors of the state within the coming weeks and the successes found therein.
Act One: On the Sale of Defense bonds
It is with great pride that the Secretary announces the incredible success of the Regalian Defense bonds. Far beyond all expectation, all Defense Bonds released sold within a week's time, with citizens, venturing businessman and baronets overwhelmingly supporting the efforts on the warfront. The amount raised for the war effort will continue to serve the armies who boldly and proudly serve our Great Empire, and has been allocated to the war chest of Regalia.
Act Two: On the Southlands Plague
The Secretary is aware of the plague spreading through the southern provinces of the Regalian Empire.
To contain the path of the Plague, the Secretary for the Finances has sent the Alchemists of the Shademarsh Colony along with the good Doctor Jocelyn von Duerr to aid the local physicians in their cause. In spite of these efforts, the plague still affects the lives of an ever-increasing number of the citizens of Regalia.
To support all efforts in preventing further spread of the plague, the Secretary for the Finances has set aside 100,000 regals in a fund created to protect those regions most affected. Those of the peerage or the aristocracy who wish to support this endeavor are bid to pay tribute to the state, along with a letter informing the Secretary for the Finances of the amount pledged. Additionally, the Secretary is seeking physicians and alchemists of renown to pool their efforts and joining the current delegations.
As of this edict, three separate efforts seek to contain the plague. Those currently manning these efforts are the Houses du Brierüst, House Tyrannian and House Black, as well as the Secretary for the Southmark in both his Ministerial capacity and as the Qar-Digmaan Yoatl. Renowned physicians will be supporting their efforts, chief among them Doctor von Duerr and Duchess Black.
All official acts of this decree are hereby stated for the public record.
