She is very selective of who she chooses to associate with and often comes off as unwelcoming. She is known to be keenly observant of her surroundings and especially stubborn, often making it a challenge for strangers to pass a conversation with her. To those she deems as trustworthy, she is able to open up with a fair amount of loyalty and kindness towards them, though she typically excludes outsiders from those courtesies. Second Paragraph Sariel feels extremely distrusting of most, as she believes that anyone she comes across could take advantage of her, especially in the unpredictable environment of the slums district. She constantly seeks self-improvement, as well as vengeance on those who have wronged her or her loved ones. Her biggest goal is to find a sense of belonging, as she feels out-of-place in Regalia. She wants to create to new connections, as most ties to her biological family have long been removed, though she still has to conquer the difficulties of acquainting herself with others. Third Paragraph To her close circle of friends, Sariel treats them like family and offers them a high amount of respect. She feels at ease around her allies, and would willingly go out of her way to assist her friends in times of need. She is able to open up to those she is more comfortable with. However, in regards to her biological family, she hardly associates with them and tends to avoid them when she is able to, as she is not very close with them. Fourth Paragraph Sariel is morally grey, and believes that most crimes can be justified under the right circumstances. However, there are particularly heinous actions she could never condone, such as sexual assault or the abuse of an animal. She falls more under the "true neutral" path and often turns to the methods that will benefit herself most. She feels a sense of disgust towards anyone who she deems to break the law without solid justification. Life Story Sariel was born as the third child of the Cielothar couple Nylian and Elasha Aelasara in Regalia. Her parents had migrated from Daendroc in search of a more affluent lifestyle in the city. However, Elasha, the mother, soon fell ill shortly after Sariel's birth and passed away, leaving Sariel and her two siblings to be raised by her lone father. Nylian eventually married to an Altalar by the name of Meira who was relatively wealthy, and this stepmother figure was able to educate Sariel in reading, writing, and on certain occasions, the playing of the fiddle. Meira held high expectations for Sariel that Sariel felt unable to fulfil―while her parents pressed a scholarly career onto her shoulders, Sariel's adolescence was filled with mischief and exploration of her boundaries. By the time Sariel was ten, her oldest brother had began to teach her how to use a knife and other sorts of daggers. At age thirteen, Sariel's birthfather passed away and her stepmother became more strict and heartless towards her stepchildren. The following year, Sariel ran away and spent several weeks on the streets. Perhaps out of sheer luck, she happened to stumble upon an Ailor man named Lucas Planter, a tutor of the School of Vilestate that recognized potential in Sariel. He took her in, and for the next ten years, he taught her the arts of forgery, espionage, and making syndicate contracts. Sariel respected and admired Lucas as a tutor and a parental figure. At age twenty-four, having been under Lucas's wing for a decade, she was pronounced a graduate. By then, she had lost contact with her siblings and her stepmother, and was urged by Lucas to find herself a place in Regalia. Reluctantly, she departed from his residence to start her own life and find herself a home. Half a year later, she returned to visit, ending up heartbroken to find him gone without a trace. Now, Sariel leads a life of subterfuge while also searching for a place of belonging. She also wishes to find the reasons to Lucas's disappearance, fearing that someone might have finally "silenced" him. She has taken her adventures to the Regalian slums, and uses the skills she has gained to work as a spy within the criminal circuit. After a decade of separation, she also searches for the whereabouts of her two siblings.
