Backstory/Plothooks
  • Saemir worked as a laborer prior to the outbreak of the Isldar civil war. He was stablehand that tended to a cluster of Wyverns, one of many employed by the Thayaal family, and is effectively at the bottom rung of any social hierarchy. He hails from a mountanious hamlet near to Meyranlëy in southern Ellador. His family ran a small tea-house built on one of the mountainous slopes which had some accommodation for passing couriers or porters transporting goods in the mountainous landscape. Any Life Isldar that had buisness with the Thayaal family can make reference to have seen him as one of many workers employed by that family, or can say they stayed the night at the tea-house now run by his elder sister.
  • As tensions started to escalate he was pressed into an armed service to the house where he would eventually fill a roll as a scout marksman that utilizes a jazalya. He's not quite sure how, but he ended up assigned to a smaller patrol (effective partisan bandits) south eastern Ellador making raids against forces of the Dorkarthi. Death Isldar may have skirmished with the band of partisans he was apart of.
  • While a Draconist, his knowledge of Draconism starts and ends with local oral tradition focused around the Dragon Aurora, and some mournful tales about Gaia dying as his ancestors fled to Ellador. He doesn't know too much about the modern practices of the faith, let alone the views and ideas expressed by the followers of it in the very distant and foreign Regalian Crown Isle. His 'choice' in the events leading up to and around Aurora's revival comes not from any profound or nuanced understanding of tenets of the different faiths, but rather a manner of fact acceptance of what Aurora and his effective liege lords say must be right. Other Draconists can try to slowly start educating him about the broader faith, and he's likely to be extremely gullible about this as well.
