Recently, Caesar (My rp char) and the soul smith (BBB's char) were talking together in the tavern and found out (all in character) that our characters both know magic in some way. Of course, he is specialised in a different way then I am and that both was not official roleplay. We were discussing about how our magic gets performed and how this works afterall, aswell as if there are people who have the base knowledge for performing ""magic""(we did never call it that way actually) but are in need of a teacher.

Yet, I wondered if someone would be interrested in some sort of magical school....nothing official, but a way of roleplaying.
People who have made up a good bunch of lore on how their magic works and how they perform magic could act as teachers and others who say they don't know magic that good could profit from them.

But before I go into any planning or conceptualizing, I would like your feedback for the idea. Are there RP interested people out there willing to invest some time to eather teach or learn magic (RP only)? And are there any RP-characters who are in need of magical education?

Tell me your answers to the above question.

Hmm sounds cool maybe i should visit the magic school sometime ;D

Wait until the status of magic is confirmed in one of the upcoming lore books.

maby borrow some idea's from "The Elder Scrolls" And change them for Roleplay value.

School of Conjuration (summons) Skeletons/zombies/Nether realm creatures.

School of Destruction (Elemental damage) Fire/ice/lightning. And all it''s other forms.

School of Restoration (Healing) Area of effect spells/concentrated bolts

School of mysticism (spell absorption/spell reflect/telekinesis/Life detection around you.

School of Alteration (Underwater breathing/water walking/levitate/burden/feather

It gives decent idea what you can roleplay.

My character'd really like to learn! XD (and if I ever get to roleplay as Lysander, to teach!)

Bah, ye damn witches, take ye black magic and illusions far from me! No better than brigands and hooligans!

Errr, Ulu and BBB, contact me please. I think we should get together and talk...

i recently was forced to use non-ligit magic to eliminate another charecter who used non-ligit magic. ppl tend to see magic from a dnd point of view, and it makes a vicous cycle of overpowering. this is an issue ive only recently been faced with and a school of magic may be just the cure for it.

I think the main problem is that players think 'RP' means 'pretend you're God and you are'. We need a way to make it so that players are forced to know what is and what isn't a magic no-no. Most new people to RP/5-year-olds/noobs in general think they can win every fight by going "-Magics Person away-", and there should be a defining way of making magic available in the server. For example, maybe custom commands that recognize who you're looking at and if you type e.g. /cast w, a Wind spell should cast at the person. This would take a lot of coding and time, however, so a Magic School should be available to show players that RP is like playing a game as a child; if you just shout "I'm a laser T-Rex and I'm killing you and you can't stop me because I have a shield made from superman's clones", all the other kids will go away and won't play with you.

You're like 12,000 years old, stop. ._.

Let's just read my last post on my RP story...
"I don't think you guys get it. The comatose state left me completely preserved and my body was fine. My body didn't age, so technically Silver will be 33 next year, and 34 the next, and so on. Silver never died, so he is still an elf."
Now stop being difficult.

If this is going to happen, my Character might join in as a teacher, if allowed, for Dark Magic. But this is a goo idea and I think it should be put in (RP ONLY)

I am very happy to say ulu I would like to join this school and become a teacher of magic.

I think we have some people interrested then. There are yome others who have a big plan already, so I'll go with that.
Await some info this weekend.

I have been watching and think I would very much for this to happen.

I think people should be able to apply for each specific school of magic and have, say, 5 teachers for each. There should be an application system for it on the server like GM and stuff, too.

The magic school should be where the crimson base was (Glad vampires cleared that space for us)

There is no support for either theory. So far as the public is aware, it is a simple accident. Perhaps a smoking Crimson forgot to stomp out his tobacco.
Does tobacco even exist in Regalia and where do you get it from?
