The Blackwood Battalion.
The MacLloyd clan have become quickly renowned as talented warriors, especially so with greatswords which they use to frightful efficiency. The Blackwood Battalion in particular, a mercenary band that roam the Highlands have become notable for this in their use of greatswords to snap polearms on the front line and enter battles fearlessly. They're usually also quite skilled wrestlers and take part in tournaments and brawls as part of a training regime. This particular battalion marches to the invasive music of goat bellows accompanied by loud traditional singing and the sound of heavy footfalls, they do in fact march to a particular song, called 'The Blackwoods are here'. Members of the battalion always wear their traditional family kiltach, members of the MacLloyd family offer their kiltach to anyone who does not have one should they join the battalion. The current commander of The Blackwood Battalion on the battlefield is Ceann Arthur Remko MacLloyd.

- First Paragraph | Remko is before all a very kindly and jolly man. He lives to listen and to serve, as well as offer his fair share of advice. Some more die hard sorts like the Alt Regalians or Vladno often view Remko and his techniques as soft, but none can deny his talent on the battlefield and amongst soldiers raising morale - for this reason, he is often respected if not disliked a tad. However, a true Spirit-loving man he cares very little about what others think of him and does what he loves with passion.
- Second Paragraph | Despite living his life in service of the Spirit, Remko constantly fears that he hasn't done enough. In turn, he does find a great deal of fulfilment in his chosen line of work and earns a similarly great deal of pleasure from it. Although his foremost anxiety revolves around not having started a family yet at his advancing age. As a younger man, Remko faltered under the pressure of the battlefield and in hectic situations, now learned in those surroundings he is confident. The pressure of navigating stressful situations in day to day life will occasionally see Remko lose his temper, he often resorts to rather angry language.
- Third Paragraph | Many of those around him know him to be a forthright and intuitive man, but his most outstanding qualities are his jolly nature and acceptance of others. He brings a change of tone and pace to the table in his usual company of Knights, Officers, Soldiers and occasionally clergy. Then again he has been gone from the City for a long time and there are certainly relationships to be made. He sees himself as someone who has never done enough but does actively strive to change that, nevertheless, it's not likely to change anytime soon, regardless of his achievements. He is quite the self-critic. Many of his friends are made through casual conversation and so far have held what seems to be a great deal of respect for Remko, as he has for them. Family are treated similarly, with respectful intent.
- Fourth Paragraph | With a great deal of experiences under his belt, comes a great many feelings and loyalties. Remko has a steadfast and firm belief in the Spirit, knowing there to be good in this world and the need to spread it. Although, he often grapples with knowing the difficulty of suffering in this world. Growing in a relatively poor household and having the opportunity to see what's around him has shown itself to give MacLloyd an open world view. Therefore, it would be most accurate to say that Arthur MacLLoyd is a neutral good.
Life Story.
Arthur, more commonly going by Remko amongst his friends was born in Highland Ceardia, and stayed there for much of his childhood, his mother was an Anglian who often rode to one of the coastal cities for work, and his father was a Highland Ceardian tradesman who'd been saving all his life to get his son an education of some sort at the very least - and it was to his luck, and Remko's that Remko would draw the eye of a local noble, who, in the (successful) attempt to assert Regalian law to this particular village. It was decided by this noble that Remko would study to become a Reverend. The nobleman sponsored him to train in the Sancella and so his childhood was unfortunately short-lived, and as we know now, Remko never made it to the position of Reverend.
Studying in his childhood and adolescence, he was found to be an incredibly bright boy with a penchant for public speaking and riling up his classmates and fellow future curates. He spoke of a love of the Spirit with a new and refreshing vivacity that drove him forward in his studies. It would only make sense, that when he returned to the city he would enlist in some aspect of knowledge, but thinking himself undeserving he did not. Instead, he was sent after graduating to work as a Chaplain of sorts amongst front line troops.
Years went by in these roles and the young Holm grew a fanbase for his riveting speeches, he ate and drank with the soldiers, recounting their tales and renewing their faith in the darkest of moments for them. He sparred and took part with them, eventually becoming a fair swordsman, favouring his cultural hallmark, the claymore, as well as a half decent commander of skirmishes but perhaps most importantly of all he embraced the cultures around him as unique with a lust to explore them. This exploration led to his love of language and drove him to convert handfuls of Elves and Northerners from The Faith of Estel or Old Gods to his particular brand of Unionism.
At the age of roughly thirty, Arthur returned to the Highlands in the news of his father's sickness. An epidemic of mind rot had come about in the village, and as a result of it's secluded location many of the sufferers passed away. A struggle for leadership amongst the locals came about and Arthur put himself forward, earning the title of Ceann of Achfary. Subsequently also becoming the leader of the small local freat. After this, although keeping in line with the culture, Arthur went about adhering to Regalian law, for the most part, in thanks to the elderly noble that paid for his education. He even went so far as to rename the Blackwood Freat, the Blackwood Battalion.
Upon the verge of the Elven war, and hearing the terrible loss of Montagaard, and his General Johann along with an army of thousands-strong Remko finally came to Regalia. Now he works in the city almost exclusively helping those who don't have the coin to feed themselves, and runs a bar in which he brews his own mead should a faith-craving passerby need a drink and a good chat. He has left his younger brother, Robert as acting Ceann of Achfary.
