Mechanics
Ailor are masters of languages, which is expected given their habit to culturally divides. Because so many of their languages are inter-connected, various words become more obviously related, and they also take more effort to learn other languages. If someone insults an Ailor, even in a language they do not speak, the Ailor would know, as they know most curse words or words by which to speak ill of others in all languages.
Ailor make for excellent negotiators. Ailor gain +2 on top of every Persuasion Dice roll result, and their Persuasion Cap is also increased by +2 for every Dice Roll. These effects only apply to non-Afflicted, non-Mystech individuals, as their speech and habits are entirely fine-tuned to the more mundane aspects of global society, they must venture beyond their comfort zone to be able to reach Magic things.

Kathar power cannot be denied to them. If anyone uses an Ability/Mechanic that would force them to use Radiant instead of Sinistral Magic, they still use Sinistral anyway.
Kathar are able to look at a person and intuit their Corruption Desire, with OOC Consent (see below). Then, the Kathar can act towards this goal.
Kathar can use subtle vice-heightening curses on those within Emote Range, heightening their Pride, Fury, Avarice, Corruption, Rejection, or Hedonism.
Within reasonable conduct, if a Rejection Arkenborn is rejected (job, love, opportunity etc.), they gain +2 Main Defense Stat (break cap up to 9) against the person who rejected them until they recant.

Rejection Arkenborn can (w/ OOC consent) disable emotions or feelings in themselves or others. This is a Void Curse, which must be removed by some kind of Exorcism mechanic/Magic purifying. (Hidden)
Rejection Arkenborn can subtly Curse a person with a Rejection Curse, which while outside of Combat, prevents them from approaching the Arkenborn within 5 Blocks. This is Disabled in Combat.

All worshipers of The Broken Gods are granted the gifts of the Broken Gods. These gifts mainly aim at their spite and rejection from the world's status quo, in allowing them to choose one Mechanic of any Religion except Evolism, and add it to their own Mechanics. Additionally, The Broken Gods worshipers have a unique Mechanic related to Disguises or Monster Transformations. While these would normally be removed upon reaching 0 HP or being Knocked Out, Broken Gods worshipers who are defeated in combat or outside of it can never be forced out of any Disguise or Transformation. Keep in mind, this may cause problems with Knights, because a Monster that is not transforming back, may need to be executed, so use this judiciously.

Mélanie was born on the night May 5th 291AC. During her birth it had been discovered that Mélanie's mother, Claire, had slept with the Rejection Arken. Her meant-to-be father, Antoine, a Lothar Knight, was outraged by this swearing to end the infant's life. While he had left to grab his blade Mélanies mother fled with her, the two of them now living a life on the run.

Up until the age of seven, Mélanie had lived like that, constantly moving from place to place, being told everyday by her mother that she was to blame for the life she now had to live. It all came to an abrupt end one night when Antoine managed to find them, taking little time to chase and corner them. He made quick work of her mother, wasting no time in pleasantries before killing her. When he raised his blade to strike at her next she stood awaiting her end, hoping that she may get a better chance in another life, but Antoine lowered his blade, glaring down at her instead to say:
"I should end you here and now, just as I ended her. But killing you would be too simple, too merciful. You are the curse she brought into my life, the living proof of her betrayal. No, I won't let you die so easily. You will carry the weight of her sins, the burden of her lies. I want you to suffer, to live with the knowledge that you were the reason for all this—her death, your pain. Every breath you take will be a reminder that you are nothing more than a mistake, a stain on this world. Your punishment, Mélanie, is to live with the knowledge that your very existence is a curse."

After the night of her mother's death, Mélanie ran with nothing but the clothes on her back and the echo of Antoine's curse in her mind. She found refuge in the slums of a nearby city, where she quickly learned that survival required more than just running. The streets became her home, and scavenging and stealing became second nature as she navigated the shadows, avoiding anyone who might recognize her.

By the time Mélanie turned twelve, she had grown tired of living day to day on scraps. Desperate to find a way out, she sought employment wherever she could, only to be turned away due to her ragged appearance and the lingering stench of poverty. Undeterred, she devised a plan. One night, she slipped into the wealthier districts, stealthily pilfering a set of fine clothes from a clothesline and dyeing her hair with herbs she had found, transforming herself into someone who could blend in among the upper classes.

Her new appearance allowed her to navigate parts of the city previously closed to her. It was during this time that she encountered a group of Kathar, outcasts like herself, who took her under their wing. Among them was a woman named Khelara who taught Mélanie the language of Pannarokh and the basics of combat and magic. With each lesson, Mélanie grew stronger and more confident, no longer the scared child she had once been.

Realizing that the world offered nothing unless she was willing to take it, Mélanie adopted a philosophy of self-reliance and strength. At fifteen, she began stowing away on ships, escaping from the city that had been both her sanctuary and prison. Her travels took her to distant lands, where she took up odd jobs, learning new skills and amassing the resources she needed to survive.

Now at twenty-one, Mélanie found herself back in Regalia, a city she had visited briefly during her travels. She had caught a ride with a Sihai, charming her enough to secure passage. But Mélanie couldn't resist the lure of a shiny ring she wore. As the carriage they rode came to a stop, she deftly stole it, disappearing into the bustling city before she was to notice it was gone.
