WARNING: If you are prone to explosive occular hemorrhage, do not look at these scribblings
Kidding. Ha.
That said, if you want to look at legitimately good artwork, perhaps you should be elsewhere.
On to the show, eh?
I'll be posting the 'art' I consider to be pretty enough here. We may have differing views on acceptable. Generally for me, if something gets past the linework stage without being garbled as fuck and generally hideous, it's an A+. I've only been 'in the biz' for a month or two, so they might be a little bit jittery, bad, etc. I'm mostly posting these here for criticism, constructive or otherwise. While you are a very nice person who I will love until the end of time itself, if you tell me an artwork looks 'really nice', it doesn't help as much as if you said 'limb x is disproportionate to limb y', and so on. That is not to say that I won't appreciate positive feedback, I'm just saying all opinions are welcome here.
Secondly, you may see differing styles of art, or a lack of one congruent style. I'm at a stage where I'm experimenting with a lot of different looks, be it cartoony, chibi, etc. If you ask me to draw something for you, and you don't specify the style, I'll probably do whatever feels best at that time.
And last but not least, if any of these seem too wide or too thin, that'll be because I use two different monitors of different dimensions, and I'm still not sure which is 'standard'.
On to the show, for real this time.
Ah, the fist. This was my first 'presentable' piece. It's a rough sketch of... A fist. Cause yeah. I have a strange obsession with fists, whenever I'm trying a new medium I'll make a fist first. It's my "hello world" I guess. It's very versatile.
The knife. I've always said that my character, Leopold Kade, was fairly proficient with throwing knives, and that he carried a set around. I never elaborated on what they looked like. I decided I might, shortly after discovering linework layers, and set about creating an ornate looking weapon. See those nicely defined lines? I didn't do them. Painttool SAI did. The linework layers have a nifty little feature where you can make lines without drawing along them. I assume it's meant for small scale corrections. I was (and still am) feeling quite unsure about my freehand abilities and hand-eye co-ordination, so I did the lines 'cheatily' and coloured and shaded the rest. It gave me a satisfactory attempt at metal shading, and I'd be happy to try designing more weapons if you were to request that.
Some casual Slenderman. I went for a cartoony look here, and I learnt that having your sketch layer visible makes a nice effect. In retrospect, it looks a bit like the wonderful work of Teddie000, who's art you should check out right this second. :3
I tried going for a 'slender' style note scribbling thing, but my rendition of the slim guy himself wasn't intimidating enough for the effect to work out.
Finally, my policy on requests is this. If you are blind enough to ask for a request, I'll do it IF it interests me. You don't have to offer any compensation, as I'll only do it if I want to, and chances are it won't look good anyway.
There appears to be a formatting issue with the first spoiler. I don't know how to fix it. :I
