Why does the poll thing I'm German?

I think the server team does a good job with role play but I still had some suggestions, because I'm human.
Have larger, war based events. For example, the revolts in Regalia. Something else might be mobs (zombies) attacking the cities that need to be defended by players. This depends a lot on server resources though. Especially the mob spawning thing.
Allow players to join a server faction, as well as a player faction. This could give players in different factions some common ground outside of their faction. It might also be really confusing.
Finally, I'm fine with religions, so long as the server creates them, and as long as at least one of them involves Cthulhu. I think it would be interesting if there were religions that had to be discovered by the players instead of there being all ready made religions with churches and such already existing.
Some NPCs to facilitate some of the systems (depending on server resources and how ready the mods are) might be beneficial too. For instance, a priest of an established Regalia religion who can bless the players or curse vampires or something.

Oh yeah, I'm all good with learning about my family history (it's actually Prussian, not German), but it was worrisome that Google might know that. 'Do no evil' or not, I'm not yet ready for our robotic overlords to start telling me what to do.

Sorry, I actually filled out the poll. And I'm for reals about the Cthulhu thing. You can't have server religions without Elder Gods. Maybe the religions could be where the magic gets used. As you gain more favor with your server god, you gain more or varied magic powers. I'm also for reals about the server NPCs. Though again, that really depends on server resources. Something like Citizens2 works fine on a server with 6 people playing, I'm not so sure about a server with 150 people playing.

For server religions, do not use *any* real world religions. I guess this is pretty obvious to people who run servers for a living, but just thought I'd mention it. I can't imagine a way to make people angry that would work faster than religion. Maybe politics, but luckily we don't have people campaigning for public offices on Minecraft servers yet.
 
I believe we need more rp. But not only big events, but smaller rp segments with 5 or so players as well. If I'm not too busy I usually like to get a group of people at spawn, and head off to the dancing enderman for a drink or two. Rp is a great way to meet new players and have alot of quality fun!

Successfully got you started. That's what polls are for! I imagine there will be some kind of outlet for you to rant in in the poll. I would fill it out but I have no idea what a roleplay is.

We need someone on the server who ONLY roleplays. Doesn't do PvP, isn't in a faction, doesn't do trade (unless they're a merchant or nomad). It'll be a bit tricky to find someone for this task, as they must be active, but I'm sure I can think of something.

And teleportation to players were already disabled. And we can't live without creative gates.

I would greatefully accept this role. Making an alt or using a nickname to change the name to more of name fit for the lore.
 
I'd obligingly take it too. But when in comes to roleplay in game, I'm not as patient with it as i am with forum roleplay.
 
:D I agree, there should be more roleplay, as I LOVE to roleplay.

For more races, some ideas are:
Elves, who can jump higher, run faster, can see better, have a very very very very light aimbot for bows, etc..
Dwarfs, who have 25% quicker mining, a strength boost, etc...
Wizards, who can make magic, do spells, etc...
Mages, (or whatever you want to call them) who can make different potions, heal vampire-indused sicknesses, etc...
Werewolfs, who get strength boosts ONLY at night, can run faster at night, etc...
There can be downsides added to all of them (like vampires burn during the day) but, you guys can sugest some.

I've seen more posts about this, but I strongly think it should be added:
Add to the 'Factions' plug-in, like making it so that you can make different ranks in your faction, and add perms to those ranks.
(example: Co-Leader, who has all the same perms as Leader)

The 'Events Portal' should lead to a room, which has MANY portals, leading to different events, so there can be many server events at a time, and a way to advertise your own events in the Events-Room, And get a server mod/admin to make a portal for it.

some sugestions could be:
A religion that worships the elder gods of massivecraft,
A religion for vampires,
A religion of creeper worshipers, like the ones that 'Daendroc' was formerly home to.

I'm working on a very intricate story about the whole of Massivecraft, and religion is a very heavy input connecting to EVERYTHING. Although I feel this is a bit too much work, it's an individual 2D project of my own.

Although it would be nice to have more races on the server, I'm still standing by my point that rp can't be at its top potential in-game. Believe me, I've been to some very good roleplay servers and it took almost 10 minecraft days to complete an entire segment. If Massive still had its extended night and day cycles that could balance it. Roleplay Events are the way to go on a server, just like the small exciting ones already balanced and done by the moderating team and others.

Not good at programming (though I wish I was) but would it be possible to add a sub-faction sort of thing for religions

Like I belong to the Faction of Aldur But I belong to the (sub-group) Religion of (insert god/mod name here) and the leader of the religion (or high priest/priestess) is whoever the god/mod Favors most?

And the High priest/priestess can claim x (low) amount of chunks to build a church (or be given an area by the mods). Which buffs players of the religion if they visit every y amount of days(or just while they're on the temples grounds)

Like I said I know little of programming and such a thing would probably be really hard to do and probably cause a lot of lag so just take this as a Hypothetical thought session to get your mind going. :)

I think also that we need more server-wide rp characters. Mrs. Baver is really the only one, seeing her name in chat is getting old.

Agreed when I went to a Baver event I noticed the graves directly opposite to hers.
Count Vlad Dracule being one of them. It made me think that Mrs. Baver had followers and that vampires don't get their power from Baver but her Follower Dracula
There were other graves there too maybe Baver could have generals or something along those lines.
 
Also i would like it if we somehow made trade more profitable/easier, so harbors and roads actually mean something.

I don't think that would be the best idea. What if players, any player, wrote a religion with lore, gods, prayers required, sacrifices, etc. and then a group of people that would contain both regular players and mods+ would vote? This group of people would have to be good at roleplaying and writing, that way the vote would be "valid". Just my thoughts on this topic.
