OOC INFORMATION: This is a Player Quest thread. We are working on an experimental system where players are able to have story progression posts for world progression/loot/back story development outside of wars and battles so non military characters can also have an effect on the world around them. The rolls are fairly experimental as it stands and the system is not perfect yet. This was a preliminary test that would settle me into the system so we can provide a standardized set of rolls for future events. More news will follow on the system when it goes online.

Additionally, the events in this entire post are between the characters. Knowledge is not available to anyone outside of this group unless it is shared by them.

Tristan Lampero led a party of people east to Hadravia in search for Cedric Kade, the Imperial Prince who had gone missing to this friends after a series of events out of his control. Accompanying Tristan were William and Alistair Coen, Thomas and Leah kade and finally Brae'lah Al-Sahid. As soon as the ship arrived in Hadravia, the group made their way to the Regalian Army camp where Cedric had last been assigned on scouting duty. The group spread out over the camp, using various tactics to retrieve information from the Regalian troops. Thomas and Leah used their heritage to force the troops to bring reports to them, as members of the Kade family they had full access to the military command structure, discovering scouting maps and troop movements. Brae'lah Al-Sahid used her seductive charms on some soldiers to pluck loose some rumors from them, hearing the hearsay of the soldiers of the camp. Alistair and William used their cunning and perception to look for traces of Cedric, eventually running into a tent with some of his older clothing bearing the Kade sigils. Tristan simply loitered about. He figured the others were better at this sort of thing anyway. With all the pieces of information pieced together, they pieced together a likely course of events. It was decided that they should go to the Hadravian villages next to see if they could find any tips from the locals on where to find Cedric, or to see if they could convince the locals to help them looking.

When arriving in the Hadravian village, Brae'lah Al-Sahid acted as a translator to the local Hadravians. Thomas and Leah had meanwhile ditched anything that could identify them as Imperial family members and the others had disguised their Regalian allegiance. They blended in just as Cedric had done before them, as all Hadravians were actually Ailor with the odd Qadir walking among them. Brae'lah Al-Sahid asked the local merchants and patrons about newcomers while William and Alistair once more looked for signs of Cedric's presence. Leah, Tristan and Thomas remained vigilant on lookout to scout for any Qadir soldiers coming their way as they all moved from town to town. Arriving at the third town, or rather a small group of tents, Brae'lah Al-Sahid managed to overhear some of the water caravans that they had sheltered Regalian spies during a trek through the desert. Haggling with some of the jewelry that grandmother Kade had given to Leah, they managed to buy a route of travel off the merchant through the desert to backtrace the most likely path Cedric had taken. The group then set on their way with a caravan of their own in tow to supply them with water and supplies.

On their way past the second route point, the group ran into a small Qadir scouting party. Eight Qadir approached them on foot and despite the attempts from Brae'lah Al-Sahid to convince them the Regalians were slaves, their weapons and shields were hard to hide. William and Leah urged Brae'lah Al-Sahid to return to the camp where they last set off on, and she sped off on a camel as the fight between the two groups commenced. William and Thomas both tag teamed with Alistair and Leah, Alistair making use of William's defensive stance with his shield while Leah did the same with Thomas. Tristan attempted to solo two of the enemy Qadir while the fight continued all around him. One of the Qadir managed to, unfortunately for him, slice a part of tristan's pelt that hung around his shoulders, destroying it. In a rage of revenge for desecrating his family's sigil, Tristan slashed the two Qadir opposite to him in two with one fell swoop of his massive two handed sword, bull charged forward and impaled another Qadir that was facing William, then grabbed William's shield and started battering the single remaining Qadir's face in until nothing remained. The others had meanwhile disposed of the other Qadir, and before departing they all quickly shoved them into a ditch and buried them in sand so as not to attract attention from vultures and other Qadir scout parties.

On their first night, the group did not manage to find Cedric, but they had more luck on their second day. While following the route, they crossed an abandoned fort. By mere chance, William was attracted by a flash of light from one of the courtyards. Upon further inspection, they found Cedric completely surrounded by thirty-two Qadir soldiers. The group immediately charged into battle, Cedric himself responding to the sudden reinforcements with vigor, though in the heat of battle he did not immediately recognize who he was fighting with. The fight was quick and intense, Thomas distinguished himself along with Alistair dispatching the vast majority of the Qadir who were trying to single out Cedric. Cedric then jumped out of isolation, evading and confusing the enemies while Tristan chased after him dispatching the Qadir. William and Alistair were unfortunately pushed into a corner by a larger number of Qadir. Despite William's attempts to shield the two of them, a spear that was intended for Alistair was intercepted by William at the last moment and punctured his right upper leg. William immediately fell to the ground, though Leah and Alistair were able to fend off the remaining Qadir as Thomas dispatched them.

As the battle ended, the group was relatively unscathed save for William, though Cedric looked worse for wear. He was covered in smaller cuts, bruises and a bloody nose while also looking dehydrated and tired from the running. As sweat dripped down his face, a frown formed when he had realized who had come to save him. Leah, Tristan and Thomas attempted to convince Cedric that he needed to return to base camp because his presence was required in a larger battle while Alistair stopped the bleeding on his brother's leg. Unfortunately, Cedric saw through their attempts to coerce him into leaving with them, and he promptly turned around and marched off. Leah and Tristan chased after him while he left the fort while Thomas turned to help carry William. Once outside, the attempts to plead Cedric to return turned into a heated debate that eventually became an argument that was just a release of a lot of hot air without anything in specific really being said. When leah seized Cedric by his wrist, he pulled loose and a brawl broke out.

Tristan tried to grab Cedric, though Cedric was too fast for Tristan and evaded him a couple of times. Leah was equally not fast, though Cedric was unable to make a run for it if they kept coming at him from both sides. He quickly scooped up sand and threw it in Tristan's face, a trick he had used twice before and /knew/ would succeed again. With Tristan Temporarily out of the fight, he turned to Leah. He had not fought Leah before, so he simply decided to feign a run, leading her in a circle while getting some head start on her. When he traced back to Tristan who was still rubbing the sand from his eyes, he grabbed the remaining part of his pelt on his back by the tail, turned it around and tied it around his face to blindfold him. When Leah was close to them, he pushed him towards her, her attempt to catch him causing both of them to stumble backwards and down a sandy hill. Cedric then made a run for it, pacing between the two and him for nearly a minute until they charged after him.

Normally Cedric would have been able to outrun both of them, though the desert combat, the weeks of scouting and the last couple of days had severely exhausted him. After a good chase of ten minutes, Cedric stumbled on a camel skull, falling over forward and rolling down a hill. When he reached the bottom, he tried to lift himself off the ground but found his strength in his arms gone. Tristan and Leah eventually caught up, finding him passed out in the sand. Tristan carried Cedric over his shoulder before returning to William Thomas and Alistair. Unfortunately, when they returned they found that William Thomas and Alistair had been caught up by a Qadir scouting party that came looking for the Qadir they killed before. Tristan put Cedric down and Leah stayed with him, defending his unconscious body while Thomas defended the crippled William. Alistair performed decently well, after all there were only four opponents. Tristan took three of them on at the same time and killed all of them, ending the battle fairly quickly. When the group fully reunited, they all made their way back to Brae'lah Al-Sahid, eventually boarding the ship on the way back to Regalia. Cedric was out nearly the entire time, sleeping the entire way back to Regalia.

I used to be a good fighter, but then I took a Qadir spear to the leg.

I literally watched this group gather in the tavern then walk away... Q-Q

That moment where you don't realize something will effect the lore, and then it does.

In theory this will not affect lore at all, but it sets the center stage for future "Player Quests" which do have the chance to affect lore. Say for example some players wanted to try assassinating the Qadir Pasha, or someone wanted to go looking for the fabled midden Ice Elf stronghold etc. The options really are open and wide.

This concept is really great for the community, mainly for the people who want to have their existence acknowledged. Personally, it gives me a sense of hope for my char to redeem himself for his past. For others they will be able to reach new heights in immersion. I know my voice is small but I would suggest a new branch of the lore staff that would help regulate the stories and what will happen. This is a personal opinion of course.
