As most of you are probably aware, the records in Minecraft are turned into instruments in the Massivecraft resource pack. I imagine this is for roleplay's sake. I had an idea when writing pieces for my MassiveMusic resource pack. What if you could play the record that's in your hand? It would only be while standing still and while holding the record. This would allow for people to roleplayers as street performers! This would also go well with MassiveMusic, since I will be replacing the vanilla record songs with songs of the corresponding instrument the sprite represents. As it is, many do not use jukeboxes as it is. This, however, wouldn't make them useless, as you couldn't use /play record while holding another item, since you must be actively holding the record for the song to play. This will give records a whole new use in roleplay! Thanks for reading, and have a Massive day!

Taking this a step further, it doesn't have to play just Records. There can be a list of sound files they have access to. As long as the extra songs are in the main Massivecraft resource pack.

The Conquest Resource pack, which Massive's is based heavily on, has some sound files that can play if you run the /playsound command.

bells is my personal favorite and I'd love the cathedral to be able to play it whenever there's an official function/emergency
