I had another idea for regalia and it's entertainment, opening a race track for piggies ^.^

Could be made outside the wall of regalia because there ain't no space inside

Have one judge

Have a betting system ( a player with a calculator recording bets and such )

Have it so jockeys ( players with there carrots ) are paid silver to race like maybe 5 silver a race and then they earn a 5 silver bonus for winning

Have a butchers supply a selection of free pigs to race with each race but have it so the butcher gets a 5% stake in the winnings pot deducted before bet winnings are given out

Could make whole server events out of a peaceful racing tournaments, an entire league of people entering to race for fun ( not official pig jockeys so open tournaments do not abide to the 5 silver participation winning )

This will not currently work. With the lag being what it is riding pigs is quite tedious and it would be almost impossible to race them. Even if you were to race them the race would be unwatchable. I would like to see more pigs in Regalia though because I think they would add to the rp of the city, but currently it is not safe to bring your animals to Regalia because they can be killed by other players.

I wonder if it's possible to disable harming in Regalia?
I bet it is, although it seems tricky. What if I wanted to be a butcher? I need to be able to kill my animals if necessary, but I don't want people to kill them. I'm not sure how that would work, maybe the first time an animal is fed wheat(or whatever it's food is) it becomes "owned" by the feeder, and only that person can kill/breed/put saddle/ride. idk if that is possible though, and it seems like it would be really sketchy. But I do think that wolves and cats should be invulnerable in Regalia, to player dealt damage at least. But how would you transport animals to Regalia anyways? except for wolves and cats that teleport, of course. Also if you get paid 5 silver for being a pig jockey, even if you don't win, that could be one of the easiest ways to make money without doing anything. I don't think any jockey/player should be paid unless they win the race. Otherwise I could earn a living just by sitting on a pig. Also, I'm speaking for myself, but I would never bet more than like 10 copper, just because there is no way to tell who's gonna win, it's not like there is a whole lot of skill involved, you are just moving your mouse in directions. And depending on how many pigs are racing, it would be very unlikely that the pig I bet on would win. And if I was the butcher I would want much more than 5%, unless I would be getting the pigs back at the end, with none of them harmed or dead. Because 5% would probably be only 1 or 2 silver, unless there becomes more factors in play than luck for betting.

When I think of Pig Races, I think of something everyone participating does for fun, and as just one attraction in a larger event. Perhaps some kind of Regalian Holiday that includes the Pig Racing. Pigs are spawned in by admins, player volunteer to race (or pay to, if they are willing) an the bets are primarily an RP aspect not so much an economic investment.

As for butchers and such, perhaps the admins could set up farms outside the city and make it so that only the farm owner can kill animals on the farm (animals of any type) in a similar manner to how only the player owning a house/shop/store can edit that building. Mods would then sell animals to players for silver (sell them in that they spawn them in) which would help take silver out of the economy.
