The rescue of Aedwyn kade was the first undertaken by Regalians, two separate groups combined in one effort. Due to unrevealed circumstances, the Qadir were actually not aware that Aedwyn was a kade, largely because they did not recognize the person who was really wearing Aedwyn Kade's armor, it certainly wasn't a Kade. The first group, Cedric Kade, Joshua Kade and Tristan Lamperouge snuck into the castle through the back, while a group of Orcs among which Rhoghash Ironmonger, Roklah Ironmonger, Rorak Ironmonger, Nilrem Ironmonger, Gorthak Ironmonger, Abrog Ironmonger, Ook Ironmonger and finally Malikar Gro-Arzuk went for a frontal assault to draw as much attention and make as much noise as possible.
The attack in the front started with the detonation of a large quantity of explosives, provided by the Ironmonger clan to blast open the front gate. The immediate noise and alarm created by the Orc attack drew all the attention away from the prison cells, allowing Tristan, Joshua and Cedric to sneak in undetected. They quicky dispatched the guards who did stay behind, them being no match for the quick agile fighting skill of Cedric and the two more brutish claymore wielding Imperial Guards. A key for the prison was not found, so Cedric used some of the explosives given by Rhoghash to blast away part of the prison. Unfortunately, Aedwyn was hit by some of the blast and received a couple of bruises on her arms and hands that he used to shield his head from rubble. Aedwyn was taken out of the prison, and the escape proceeded.
The Orcs in the courtyard meanwhile massacred the entire garrison that came down, Malikar, Rhoghah and the brute orcs going up front, while having backup from a light mage Orc and a ranged Orc. The Qadir originally did not suspect a jail break, thinking it was just an Orc raid, though they did get a request for reinforcements out to nearby Qadir camps. The rescue group meanwhile managed to escape the scene without any sort of problems, the Orcs had thoroughly eradicated the garrison and now started looting the castle for useful items, as well as the corpses. They gathered Qadir weapons, armor pieces, trinkets and ale kegs. The rescue group made their escape off the islands separate from the Orcs, choosing to leave them behind.
The Orcs meanwhile ran into the Qadir reinforcements as they are busy carrying their loot out of the castle, though the fight does not pose much of a problem to them. They soundly defeat the reinforcements who are mostly stunned by the charred, dismembered and otherwise brutalized corpses in the courtyard. The Orcs then eventually leave with their loot in tow, make it back to their own ship and then sail back to Regalia.
The second escape proved to be much more chaotic, and even to be called a "shipwreck". Fei Jao the blind light mage, accompanied by Atilio Amaya the tactician, Cayd de'Itos the fire mage and Artyom Aleksandrovsky the warrior make their way to where Ulric Typhonus was held. The castle was strongly guarded, and for all the "equipment" and "funding" Maximus Marth actually didn't present the group with a plan of approach, so the members of the task crew simply just assaulted the front gate without much second thought.
The group is not only beset by the massive fortifications the Qadir have made around Ulric's prison, they are also severely outnumbered by people who are seriously better at combat. Fei Jao is unable to avoid being overpowered due to being blind, and while he used his blinding light in occasions to save himself from being hit, he is eventually overtaken and knocked out cold with severe bleeding and fractured bones. Atilio Amaya stays in the rear, allowing the mages to get attacked mostly from the front, as he is a defensive fighter, and a tactician, not a warrior at all. Atilio is eventually encircled and knocked out just as Fei Jao with a broken leg. Cayd de'Itos seems to be the most capable member of the entire crew, taking out a series of Qadir with fire magic, but eventually being overpowered himself due to the sheer incompetence of the rest of the group. He receives a minor cut on his arm and then runs away, leaving everyone behind. Artyom Aleksandrovsky is also clearly outmatched by superior Qadir swordsmen and gets a cut on the arm, dropping his only weapon, and surrendering.
Fei Jao is captured by the Qadir, blind and unable to crawl away, while Artyom Aleksandrovsky surrenders and is thus captured. Cayd de'Itos has successfully ran away leaving everyone behind as a distraction and gets away without any further issue, while Atilio Amaya pretends to be dead in the mud for a couple of hours before crawling away when morning falls when the castle rotates its guard posts.
The next group to arrive is led by Chen Fong, Yong Ha, Yen Wyman, Shin Sanjuro and Xun Kuang. The group uses Shin Sanjuro's far sight magic to scout the castle, having seen the past failed shipwreck of a rescue attempt. They still decide to press on, despite the fact that the Qadir will be on heightened alert, and also decide to ignore the fleeing Cayd de'Itos who runs away near their direction. The group then presses on and avoids detection near the castle walls, largely thanks to Shin Sanjuro's far sight magic, and Xun Kuang's hex magic to hide them from plain sight.
Once inside, the group makes their way to Ulric's prison, but are unable to predict the movement of the troops anymore because the far sight magic becomes useless in an enclosed space with the mage having no knowledge of the interior. Xun Kuang attempts to hide the group with a Hex, but is unable to do so and they engage in a fight with the Qadir. Despite being equally matched, between the Qadir fighters and the mages, the Ch'ien-ji group eventually loses, due to two large factors. Firstly, The Qadir were much more alerted to the potential outbreak due to the previous failure that stranded on their doorstep, also aided by the fact that this all mage group did not have any frontline fighters. They were often too occupied casting magic to defend themselves, or had to wildly dash out of the way to avoid being slashed while casting magic.
Chen Fong tried to use fire magic to cleanse the hallway of Qadir, but his fire magic was used against him, and in part also Yen Wyman's strings puppets by the Qadir fire mages who steered the fire back at the group, Chen while competent, not being able to fight multiple fire mages. The fire burned all of Yen's stringed puppets, while Yong Ha was unable to make any decisive contributions with blinding light magic.
Shin Sanjuro is captured by a Qadir who suddenly appears behind him and takes him hostage with his scimitar. The group then decide to make a run for it, using Kun Kuang's hex to void the group being seen, sending mirror images or visages around corridors to confuse the Qadir. The group is successfully able to escape, but Kun Kuang collapses outside of the castle, entering an early stage of magical exhaustion and feeling severely ill certainly for the next two weeks or so due to severe magic overusage. Still, this is a small price to pay for avoiding detection and capture by the Qadir.
The fourth rescue attempt is undertaken by Trent Rouls, a lone stealthy warrior attempting to break out Christopher Black. He is unfortunately discovered trying to break in, and quickly outnumbered by a huge group of Qadir. He decides to fight but eventually receives a serious cut on both legs, causing him to collapse and surrender. He is then imprisoned along with Christopher Black.
The Qadir meanwhile fear a third breakout attempt, severely increasing military presence on Ulric's prison, while Fei Jao, Shin Sanjiro and Artyom Aleksandrovsky are added to his prisoner batch.
(Remember! Cassius Paloin, Christopher Black and Ronald Blakely are also still in prison!)
