Sitting at in a cold, old left home, Dahlia was thinking.
She was here, in this place, somewhere in the slums.
And all because of this one person...
A few days earlier...
Dahlia was just walking through the streets when she heard a scream.
As fast as she could she rushed to the direction where it came from.
What she saw made her not hesitate second, and she slashed her sword into the man's back.
Bleeding, the man fell to the ground, away from a girl who was apparently pushed against the wall.
After seeing the bruises and a few cuts on her arms, Dahlia did not wait for the man to stand up.
Instead, she decided to help the girl, to lead her to somewhere safe.
Home seemed like a good option...
The girl's name was Elise.
When she was treating her, Dahlia asked her why she was attacked.
The girl could not answer, she was still in shock.
Being afraid, Dahlia decided that it would the best for her to stay and hide for a few days.
Little did she know that it would cause trouble later...
At a night, Dahlia decided to finish some unfinished business.
She wanted to deal with Elise's attacker, for once and for good.
She stole Elise's dress when the eighteen-year-old girl was asleep.
Quietly, she left the house after that.
It didn't take long to find the man.
Thinking that he found the girl, he ran to her, but Dahlia quickly surprised him by disarming him and stabbing him in the chest, saying that no men like him should ever exist in this world.
The man fell, utterly confused while holding his chest.
Dahlia didn't pay him any attention and left him to die.
Little did she know that someone watched her actions, and the person ran off.
After a day, Elise was good to go, only to return later at twilight.
Dahlia frowned and asked her why she had returned so quickly.
Elise told her that she was accused of murder.
As Dahlia asked why the girl got further into detail.
Not wanting to lie, Dahlia explained to her what happened.
"You almost got me sent to court!" the girl yelled at her.
"And that's not acceptable! If you killed him fine... but I didn't give you permission to use my dress as some sort of bait!"
"Be glad he's dead," Dahlia said coldly.
"I can't be glad if I'm almost sent to court for something that you've done!"
"What do you want me to do then?"
"Tell them the truth before it's too late."
"Yeah, no. I can't. Wait. What do you mean by before it's too late?"
The girl then tilted her head to the side a little, a smile appearing on her face.
It was... evil.
Dahlia narrowed her eyes.
"Alright then," Elise said.
"I told a few guards what happened, they'll be checking you soon."
Dahlia straightened herself.
"What guards?"
"Not going to leak that."
"Then I don't believe you."
"Do whatever you want, your actions will be punished. Don't you think that I've been searching in your house?
I know you're a killer, and they will find it out soon."
Dahlia turned away from her, her anger slowly rising.
"So... all of this was actually just a set-up? So you could give me this low blow?" She asked coldly.
Elise looked at her in confusion for a moment.
"Oh my Spirit, no. I'm thankful for you saving me. But you've used my dress, you got me almost in trouble.
Come on, don't make this so hard on yourself. Maybe the guards have mercy."
Dahlia gave a cold laugh.
"After everything you've told them? You just said they will find out about my actions."
Elise ignored that.
"Are you going to turn yourself in or not?"
This time, Dahlia looked at her with a cold glare.
"I'll just wait for your friends' response first."
"Alright, gotcha."
Elise then left, without saying another word.
Dahlia had a strong urge to kill her, but she had something else to take care off.
She packed her stuff and destroyed every bit of possible evidence that the guards could find.
Stupid girl...
Right before she packed her last blade, she heard a few knocks at the door.
She had no time, she was trapped.
She sighed.
Readying her two swords, she knew that her next actions would consequences.
She opened the door, hiding behind it.
As soon as the two guardsmen stepped inside, she ambushed them.
She eventually got them both knocked out, but that didn't go without any suffering.
Her left arm got a huge cut, and her right shoulder was hit with an axe.
Luckily, it wasn't fatal, but still.
Clenching her jaw to ignore the pain, she set out to escape, and head to the slums.
Now
Having found shelter, Dahlia recovered from her wounds.
She knew that she had to stay, even though she hated it.
Home was no option, anywhere in Regalia was no option.
And all of this happened because of a dress...
A dress from a girl she thought she could trust...
