    The Beginning

The year is 1782PC, October 21 on the outskirts of the crown jewel of the Blackseed Empire, Gorgania, on the capital isle of Flowerheart. You are of the House Daedelus. Or perhaps you are linked to them in some other way, as a servant or friend of theirs. You are one of the five Great Houses that run this great empire, though you have only been newly appointed in recent months by the other houses to be the Fifth Great House, with the go-ahead from your Emperor. With no prior experience, and no real trade or anything, save for one of you having saved the Emperor from an assassin, you have had a tough time being gifted a fine mansion and such while still finding a reason for yourselves to be granted such an honour. After all, you all do so many different things, none of which are worthy of gaining any titles such as this, especially seeing your recent discovery that earlier on in your mother's line (Gods rest her soul) you all are linked to mages of all things! Mages! But you do as the Council and the Emperor commands, either way, serving him however you can, and keeping that magical side a harsh secret lest the Witch Hunters find you...or perhaps your forced to become a Shifter for the Emperor, being a mage serving him for the rest of your days, lest your black powder, enchanted machine explode around your neck and pop your skull like a balloon. But either way, it is a cool night and you are all home having a chat in your dining room...save for your father, the 67-year-old patriarch of House Daedelus, who was busy at the graveyard district paying his respects to your mother. After a while, your father did return, however, but you barely saw him except for your house guards guiding him upstairs, with a bandage over his hand, blood sunk into the white. However, the old man insisted he was fine as he was guided up the stairs slowly. After he got upstairs and you had all gotten acquainted with each other once again, one of the maids handed you all dinner before retiring, like many of the staff, either back to their homes in Gorgania, or their rooms in the manor, leaving all of you alone in the room, save for the few guards and maids still awake while you all eat away at your food. Rain begins to pour outside, with brief flashes of lightning as you begin to chow down through the meal prepared, filling you all with dread. Something was amiss. You could sense it...

Not much is known about The Flow, except that it is a plane of magic that is right on top of our own. It fuels it with life, however, if too much enters one plane, rips and tears in our reality can, and have appeared, causing The Flow to spew a little too much energy into our realm. This, generally, has no effect on people...however on those still growing in a mothers womb? They become Mages or Sorcerers, as they are better known. Beings with incredible, if limited, power. Able to warp things about themselves and the world around them, however it must relate with the sorts of magical energies flowing through them, or at least the Flow will affect them in such a way that it shall have a noticeable difference on them, say being able to be slightly more resistant to flame, or having a strange effect occurs when bending the Flow to cast a magical spell. However, it has been noted that extended periods with mages, or those with mages blood, can also turn others into mages accident, or otherwise. This magic can also pass down through lineage. Not much is known about the specifics of different skills and powerful mutations, however, it is documented that it is not unique amongst people, and many have different forms of similar abilities or the exact same. What is known is that generally The Flow is specifically either linking them to a specific being of the past via blood or soul or the like, or it is merely filling them up with crazy energies to then make them more powerful if a little chaotic with their abilities.

As another note, sometimes The Flow tears a hole greater than what can turn a growing babe in a mothers womb into a sorcerer. These are almost certainly permanent things called "Rifts". Those who enter them, or linger too long near them, either die, mutate, or become mages (in extremely rare cases). Most who do not know what those mutations would be might originally believe that these mutations might make them muscle bound auroch-men or some sort of winged being, improving themselves to greater degrees. They might also instantly think to the mutations gained through the Sorcerer's mutations too. Most of this is false, however, the first bit with the whole "half-beast half-man" and the "wings" part is half right, unlike the mutations being related to those who are sorcerers. The chaotic nature of the mutations will bring out some new limbs, horns or the like, however generally speaking they will be constantly hurting or will make you look hideous. And even if you gain extra limbs only on very rare occasions do they even work like normal limbs, just either being limp and unmoving or flailing around with no control. The most common mutation of all, however, is the ones you cannot see. Perhaps an extra heart or the like...which then crushes the old one killing you instantly. Or perhaps it merely drives you to madness. One thing to note about this, however, is that it can only affect you in one way and, while this is permanent, when it is done it is done, and The Flow cannot affect you again. That is why Shifters exist. Those mutant and mage soldiers of the Empire can't be affected by The Flow, due to them already being touched by it, then serving the empire to then deal with the magical energies themselves.

It is said however that those, especially in tune with the Gods, have, in the past, been affected by The Flow by the Gods will, making them similar to Mages in that they can bend the Flow to their liking, or to fit their magical lineage, however, their power is instead tied to their faith, granting them holy abilities. Historians have named these Clerics, or Paladins, however, the law has named them Heretics, and just another type of mutant to be destroyed or placed into service for the Empire, however having done an extra crime against the Blackseed Empire with them claiming to be linked to a holy vessel, meaning more often than not that they are to be destroyed. A similar thing happens with Demonic entities and beings of power of magical nature, similar to that of the Clerics, however, these are rarer, and sometimes they do not even realise they are linked. These are known as Warlocks and are even more despised and hated within the Empire due to their link with truly heretical beings. It is also said that some, if they have the knack for it, can and have picked up the ancient knowledge of the Fey, Cyclan or the like and can practice bending the Flow without it having flowed through them, making them Wizards instead of the average Mage. These sorts, however, are more or less allowed, as long as they are using the skill for the Empire, and keeping the fact that magic can be used in such a way without mutation from the public, merely making them great private help to the Shifters, and mere advisors to the city guardsmen and Witch Hunting units. As a final, more fantastical note, it has been recorded that one person had much performance skills that they could effect the Flow with their voice, naming themselves the Arcane Bard. This has been commonly deduced as false by many historians, however the world can never know!

Over the years of life that we have lived within the realm, a lot has changed. Before the Cataclysm this was a world of magic, coated in mages, beasts, and fantasy...though as the years have gone, less and less of these creatures are found, due to them being considered heretical by the Blackseed Empire. Of course, some still live elsewhere in the world or are hidden away amongst us, but they do still exist. Here are just a few of the more sentient beings that exist, and are more or less considered fantasy by the common folk who have not read their history, and have only heard legends.

    Fey
Also known as Elves or Eladrin, these were white skinned individuals with pointed ears, golden eyes, and ritualistic markings carved on their face. They also were extremely long-lived, had enhanced senses, they were immune to all disease and ailment, they did not need to sleep, eat, or breath, they had enhanced strength, speed, and they had extremely heightened intellects, allowing them to perceive technology and magic in ways we could not. Because of this, they were completely beyond humans in every faculty...but this may make you question why none still live, correct? Well, that is because of their numbers. They could only have children every 20 years, and it is always one child unless this was with a human, to which it can happen at any time, with a Half-Fey/Half-Elf being born. This also could only happen when the elf is not above 100 years as well, due to them being unable to give birth after that unless, again, it was with a human. They did not like mating with humans, however, due to the fact that humans, when they first discovered them, attacked them and slaughtered them for their lands, due to jealous rage, and due to them serving dark, unknown gods, though those who had sided alongside the Fey are permitted to be with the Fey. However, over the years and MANY holy books, Fey are all considered demonic and were all hunted to near, or complete extinction within the Blackseed Empire, and elsewhere, using their larger numbers to stomp them out. Some say a large society lurks in the western lands of Ank'Harel, though many do not know Ank'Harel exists, or believe that to be poppycock, due to the fact that they destroyed all ships that the Fey created as well that were heading west.

    Gretchin
Also known as Gremlins or Goblins, these were small green, grey, blue, or red folk, with pointed ears, red eyes, and pointed teeth. They had the innate ability to see in the dark too. While they were not very smart, they did exist in tribalistic styles and can speak the common tongue like any other, though it was a slightly broken version. They are renowned in the legends to want to eat your babies, cause havoc, and steal things but this is only partly the truth. While Gretchin did enjoy stealing things, they have extreme paranoia and steal only things, and never went near people. If they even saw one they would hide wherever they could, or fight to survive if necessary, having a pack like a mentality, and fighting as a family unit, with that unit usually being in the 10s to 20s when on stealing trips, though hives could have been in the hundreds. It is said once when the humans discovered them they attempted to serve them (while also trying to rob them blind), but due to the humans of the original Blackseed Empire serving darker gods, or seeing them as heretical monsters and thieves they attacked. As years went on further and further they were even more targeted than the Fey, due to them being able to breed quickly, and as such were the first of these fantastical races and beasts to go. Some say they now live underground and due to their paranoia are extremely hostile to anything that could be a threat, either killing it from the shadows, or hiding away for it to then leave, but this is believed to be false, due to the fact that they were all killed due to their vermin like status.

    Ogrim
Extremely strong, large beasts with a childlike intellect. What does that make you think of? Of course, the Ogrim! Also known as Ogres, or Trolls, these were huge lumbering brutes who lurked in caverns, under bridges, and around the land, feasting on it, though not in a malicious way that the stories will tell, and especially not on meat, as meat used to make them feel awful. Instead, they have the ability to eat rock, and tree, as well as ores, while then also excreting dung that would perfectly have smelted the stuff into proper, useable stuff...which is weird, so no wonder they kept it from the tales. Due to their imposing physique, and due to them being considered dumb, however, they were generally either ruling towns, with the scared populace giving them items out of fear, or they were pushed out of towns and lived in solitary areas. They generally get lonely because of this, and as such, it was said that they made little toys for themselves. Due to their strength and lack of intelligence, it is said that they were also easy to influence as well, making them perfect for raids, and combat, being outfitted by tribes and warbands with armour before being let into the battlefield. Of course, when the original Blackseed humans discovered them they were quick to go, being hunted down due to their dangerous nature, and due to them easily being able to have a temper tantrum that forces them to rip apart and kill a small village. Some say that if you go into the woods too deep, the mountains too thick, or the underground too far, you may encounter them, but that's a lie. They were either too dumb to survive, or the Blackseed Empire and humans as a whole killed them all off.

    Cyclan
The one-eyed beasts, these were known as both Giants, and Cyclops' in the common cultures, due to their giant size, and their singular round eye. They were renowned for their ability to see magic with their singular eye, and see its weave on the world better than even the Fey. They were also remembered for their extreme strength and power, which came hand in hand with their huge size, and due to this strength and power they could forge mighty things at their giant metallic forges, which are still there to this day, though perhaps left as heretical ruins, and as a message to those who would break the faith. They are beings that once dwelt far to the north, lurking in mountains and living relatively peaceful lives for years and years, only really coming down for food, or when they go on their religious pilgrimages, being well known for their peaceful religion as well. However, when the humans first came and settled in the frigid north, they saw these giant beasts and hunted them due to them seeing them as these horrific beings that could kill them all. While some tribes prayed to them as gods, those tribes were quickly destroyed, and very few still remain. It is said, due to this hunt, that many fled further north, swimming further and further before they reached the "Brink" where no man could go due to the cold, though the Giants could. Though this is disputed as, due to how few tribes there were, they could easily be spotted in their attempts to run and they certainly couldn't outrun cannons which ripped into them in the end...

    Sylvani
Also known as Fauns, Succubus', or Incubus' this was a race of goat-legged, horned all-female beings that were said to coax men to commit adultery with them due to their charms, before then kissing them with a kiss of death, and shapeshifting their form into anything they can to then escape into the wilderness untouched, so they could then consume the corpse of their male prey in peace. But this was only a half-truth, and a lot of the information was mistaken by those who said it. These beings did have horns and goat legs, and also did have an ability to shapeshift their form, though they also had the ability of a pheromone which could affect anyone they kissed, though it didn't kill them as much as it did merely cause them to fall wildly in love with the Faun, even if the Faun didn't want them to. They also cannot eat meat, so the killing thing also doesn't make sense, as they can only eat berries. There are also male versions of them too, so that makes no sense that there would only be females. They lived in relative isolation back when they lived, either living in tribes in the wild or just taking humanoid forms to then hide amongst society. However, they all were killed off anyway like all non-humans, with them also being believed to be demonic in nature, hunted to extinction like all others, or (as some might have you believe) turning invisible and hiding deep in the forests as to not be hunted, or morphing into human forms and living in society...but we know that isn't true as our hunters keen senses could track them, and even if they did turn "invisible", their invisibility still had their shadow, and their eyes visible, and if they did turn into humans, holy water could turn them back...so the hunters could still also shoot them down.

    Lycanthropy
More of a curse than a people, this was once a horrific thing that ravaged humans long ago. Some say it was created by the Fey, and all their non-human allies in the war, though others say it was a curse from some dark, unknown god that sought to play his own hand in the wars. Either way, a Lycanthrope was a bestial humanoid that at first was considered some sort of mutate, before it was discovered to be a magical curse more than anything. When someone was cursed with this monstrous disease like thing, under the light of the moon, either at will (if they could control it with Fey blood or pure willpower) or not, they would become savage half-beast half-men that would ravage (or not) with an insatiable bloodlust. The curse could spread too, like a virus, with those who injested enough of the blood of one of the creatures then being infected with the magical virus-curse and then also become the specific sub-breed of lycanthrope too. This was rarer than it might seem, however, due to the sheer fact that most of the time the beasts were either still under the control of the human beneath, or the creatures would simply just kill those they hunted down. The reported creatures that the people could become half-blooded with were: Wolves, Bears, Bores, Tigers (rarely), Foxes, and more. Of course the Blackseed Empire quickly then put an end to the outbreak, by either executing all with the curse or utilising the (now forgotten) cure for it. Some say that a few still live around in the realm, though that is poppycock, and the virus was completely destroyed quickly and efficiently, as the cure that was developed also worked in such a way that it was also like a virus, spreading from carrier to carrier via simple touch or proximity to the cure carrier.

The continent of Blackseed has encountered many houses in its time, but none have had a lasting effect like the Great Houses. These houses are ancient, or new and have been appointed by the lineage of the High House, House Xarro, who rule the Empire. Each Great House serves a purpose and each Great House rules a country within Blackseed. Here are the Great Houses of today, and previously (note that dishonoured houses are not legally allowed to be talked of completely, save for their crimes, names, and former titles):

    Honoured:
    House D'Grouss
Rulers of Boulangié, these are expert merchants in almost all trades, running the largest trades in the lands, making trade deals with smaller colonies of theirs in other continents, other countries within the Empire, and any ally Empires of the Blackseed Empire (which the Empire then plots to destroy and take over). They also control the largest amounts of the foods too, making them highly important to keep the continent ticking. They are the oldest allies of House Xarro as well, and that is why they were granted the country closest to the ruling country on the continent. The country itself is in partial turmoil though due to the slaves that they gather from the lesser continents rising up with the Duval rebellion, who seek to remove House D'Grouss from power due to their slavery, and also their high taxes on the people. As of yet, all other houses have kept out of it, and House Xarro has left them to their bidding...whatever comes next comes next. Within the city, however, they merely own large numbers of the businesses and also rule the Gorganian Bank. They also have a seat on the Council of Blackseed, alongside Emperor Xarro, with their Patriarch, Lord Lucien D'Grouss, sitting there as Master of Trade, Food, and Enslavement.

    House Borstestka
Rulers of Arstovikstan, these are renowned as brave warriors and amazing tacticians, running the largest armies and weapons manufacturing businesses in the lands...or at least their own frigid lands. As such, they are highly revered and respected, as they played a major role, back when there were only three houses, in claiming the other lands to form the continent. As such, when claiming, they took over the largest land available, taking over all of it and not stopping until everywhere important was there, and now acting under the culture of their gracious empire. They have strict martial law in their laws in their lands due to their own worries of rebellions rising due to their harsh laws that were already in place, however other than that, the only real enemies they have are with the nations of which the Empire is at war with for attempting or wanting to take them over...and also the many tribes that have not been crushed, living in the coldest parts of the north. Within the city, however, they run the guard forces, and also keep the many soldiers that are garrisoned there ready for action, while the rest of their family lurk back home. Their patriarch Baroness Gana Borstestka is on the Blackseed Council as the one and only Master of War, and Law.

    House Ruvictstein
Rulers of Rimyichte, these are a highly inventive house, creating some of the latest, and greatest building marvels the world has ever seen. These generally are huge cathedrals, statues, and more, all in service of inspiring their people to serve to fight for the Empire. They also work to improve their knowledge of alchemical, medical, and weapon sciences, with them being the inventors of black powder years ago, making them highly valued to the Empire, despite them having been against them when the Three Houses were taking over. Due to their developmental skills, they are now also the Masters of the Navy, working on new and interesting ships for their small country to use in destroying their foes. They also do a lot of exploration as well. Within Gorgania their house runs the Entdeckerauge, as well as many of the portside businesses. They also run the Stechpalme Hospice, and the Gorganian Hospital too, as well as the Orden der Alchemisten, and the Technologische Gilde. Their patriarch, Lady Johanna Ruvictstein, sits on the Blackseed Council as Master of Development, Ships, Inventions and Exploration.

    House García
Rules of Tierraverano, these are highly praised as being skilled astrologists, and also peaceful folk. As such they are some of the biggest peacemakers of the Empire, making sure that all deals that have been made with allied nations are kept, and also making sure that they keep their own side of the bargain. However, their peaceful nature is a ruse, as they use it to gather heaps of information to then hand out to the Empire as well. This allows for the Empire to then crush the enemy underfoot and win the day, making them all a valued part of their Empire. Their notoriety of secrets also keeps Tierraverano very free of crime, due to the many soldiers and guards there being able to shut it down quickly. The former leaders of their isles were crushed by them in order for the House to rise to power, after the three original Great Houses began their approach to their lands, instantly swearing allegiance to the Empire as soon as they arrived, making them not well liked within Tierraverano however, through their spies and assassins make short work of any insurgents. Within the city however they are renowned as being the advisors of the Emperor, as well as being his personal spies (though that part is highly secret). They also have been known to help the hunting trade with their tracking abilities, and are known well for having one of their brood in almost every single nobles businesses as well, making them well liked...as they want it to be. Their patriarch, Isabella García, is on the Blackseed Council, due to her being the Advisor to the Emperor. However, her oldest son, Miguel García, is the Master of Information, Peace, and Astrology.

    House Daedelus
A new house, these were strangers to the continent of Blackseed for a long time before their rise to power, but now have been placed in a position of great importance to the Empire, despite them not owning any lands. It is said their origins come from the mysterious lands beyond the western seas, which some sailors have named: Ank'Harel. This land has astounded many who have heard of it, due to it being even more affected by the other realms, and The Flow than other planes, making the other houses anxious to explore there. They came from said lands before the Empire even began, however, their family has always been there when the city stood alone. However, the House came to prominence when Magnus Daedelus' leader (a member of the Witch's Mark, a Witch Hunting Regiment of the city guards) was receiving an award for destroying the final leader of Arcana Future (a group of mages and mutants attempting to kill the Emperor and take over the city). If it wasn't for the keen eye of Magnus then the Emperor would have been killed by a teleporting mage, but Magnus' gun quickly killed the being. Other mages and mutants then attacked the event, however, Magnus managed to halt many of them from doing any more horror to the people present, though his boss was killed during the event. As such, when the mages and mutants were all dead or in chains, the Emperor instantly promoted his house to a Great House without a second thought. Due to the house originally being a mere commoner house, their members are found across the land, however, their recent rise to power has granted them many boons in said businesses. Their patriarch, Alabaster Daedelus has also been named the Master of Arcana, with Magnus being allowed to communicate to him any information on any magical phenomenon from his new seat as Commander of the Witch's Mark.

    Dishonoured:
    House Marino
Former Masters of Religion, and leaders of the country of Bizano (before they merged with Tierraverano). Their crime was that their patriarch (leader of the faith of the New Gods, now known as the Dark Gods) was attempting to lead a holy rebellion against the Emperor, and crush all legal gods for his own, true ones. It was also reported that he and his fellow priest brothers were also doing horrific things to woman and children who attempted to seek guidance, however, this was not confirmed. The house still exists today, however only the woman, and youth of that time (who testified against the men) survived and were instantly married off/adopted into House García. The men were all executed by having their genitalia cut off first, and then having their heads removed.

    House Ruadh
Former Masters of Arcana, and leaders of the country of Inglefjord (before it was merged into the main country of Flowerheart, being renamed to Greater Flowerheart). Their crime was that their patriarch was mating with a Fey, attempted to defend fey and magical beings from destruction, and also due to them being a mage. The patriarch was burnt at the stake, however, the rest of his family were forced into Shifter-hood for the rest of their days as service to their true path.

    House Aspa-Kane
Former Masters of Law, they ruled over Arstovikstan. Their crime was that they were affiliating themselves with the gangs of the outer slums, and also that they were corrupt. Their punishment was immediate removal from Greater House position, and large amounts of community service. They were also removed from Arstovikstan, forcing the family to move into the city. Further crimes alongside the gangs have been committed in some attempt to regain their title, or for coins.

    House Alexopoulos
Former Masters of Ships, they ruled over Pyrkagiá (before it was merged into Tierraverano). Their crime was that they attempted to go to war with House D'Grouss for their slaving businesses. While they did succeeding in destroying and demolishing many of said slaving businesses, in the end, they were destroyed by the other houses. Their patriarch was hung, and the others were shamed. They were, however, then married and adopted into House García, though those that refused were later found murdered. Those who were not caught then sided with House Erdoğan, and fled into the Amun Empire.

    House Erdoğan
Former Masters of Inventions, they ruled over a small section of Sarjan Karana, fighting against the Ticking Domains, and the Amun Empire. Their crime was betraying the Blackseed Empire, breaking all ties with them, and then joining the Ticking Domains to then be able to take on a smaller threat, due to the Ticking Domains and the Amun Empire being allies, and at war with the Blackseed Empire. The patriarch and his family fled utilising futuristic airship technology (which we did not have at the time...but now we do, due to the gracious, and large minds of House Ruvictstein)

    House Khündetgel
Former Masters of Exploration, these were people who ruled part of Arstovikstan which broke away (during a major magical incident) making it its own nation of Zorigtoigazar. Their crime is joining a separate Empire, though we know nothing of this Empire, save for the Moon and Stars flag that they fly. They also committed the crime of casting magic, as now their country is floating in the skies, as it wasn't before, flying closer to these uncharted lands, and closer to their newfound Empire. The old patriarch was executed by fire, as was most of their others, however, the ones in their homeland have yet to be executed due to the distance they have travelled.

Within the Blackseed Empire, many gods have come and gone in terms of their believability and their legality. As such much controversy has arisen due to the many worships that exist today, and what can and cannot be worshipped. Here are just some of the legal and illegal faiths within the Empire as of now:

    Illegal
    The Dark Gods
These are gods that were brought to the attention of the Blackseed Empire by House Marino and their religious sects. They are, or were, apparently the main gods that appeared before the former governance of Bizano when it existed, making them all fear their power. They are the epitome of power through fear and the epitome of fearing your gods. Within their pantheon, there is Bone, Goddess of the Unknown, and Rewarding those who discover everything they can, Love, Goddess of Lust, and Rewarding those who push past the lustful, sinful ways that are brought through love, Madness, Goddess of Insanity, and pushing through all mental illnesses...or simply not having such heretical things, Worm, God of Disgust, Sloth, and Greed, and pushing past such things to be a better, more healthy person, Horror, Goddess of Fear, and Rewarding those who push through it and be brave, Broken, God of Pain, and Rewarding those who push through their pain to further serve their Gods, and Strange, God of Oddness, and Purging all those who are strange, and do not fit normality. Of course, in the end, these gods were outlawed due to the horrors they forced upon the populace, the house that ran that church, and their Gods orders to destroy all other "false" idols.

    Mechanus
Within the Ticking Domains, Mechanus has guided them for years. This being apparently appeared to them at the start of their Empire, guiding them to service to both him and his mother Ioun. He is the God of Development and Technology. This God is outlawed due to the fact that the Ticking Domains worship him, and for that alone, which makes a few people question if he is really that bad. Some say worshipping him wouldn't affect anything, and he might even help them if they worship them too, though others say that he should stay illegal, as Mechanus might lead people to join the Ticking Domains even more, and spark a rebellion.

    Beastborn
Those who accept the curse of Lycanthropy have been known to worship the Beastborn, a being which they believe is the being that was the first Lycanthrope who accidentally turned himself into the beast on purpose for power, and to be better than the poultry humans, which he now seeks to hunt and consume on one great hunting field. They believe he granted many people his ability for a reason, to spread the honourable hunt and bring moonlight to the world, while also rooting out the worshippers of Baphomet and ripping them apart for their heresy to the name of "Beast". This God also insists that his followers also follow the tenants put forth by his mother, Sehanine, making most that follow him also good friends with those who follow the Prime Deities too. Of course, due to this being a God of Lycanthropes, he is illegal within the Blackseed Empire because of this idea. He is known as the God of Honourable Hunting, Demon Slaying, Lycanthropes and Transformations as a whole.

    The Skyborn
It is said to the far east, the ones that fly the flag of the Moon and Sun worship Dragons...or more importantly the half-dragon children of Bahamut and Sehanine. Due to them being a half-abomination in the eyes of their Gods, and also being half-illegal god this faith is outlawed out of principle. Though little is known of these Gods, so some still worship them in secret without the government knowing anything of it, though easterners are wrought with suspicion due to their people's faiths by the people of the Blackseed Empire. The pantheon of the Skyborn includes Bǎohù, Skyborn of Gold, Měinǚ, Skyborn of Silver, Myujikeol, Skyborn of Brass, Seubgwan, Skyborn of Mercury, Sutāku, Skyborn of Iron, and Yaranbarosu, Skyborn of Steel.

    The Prime Deities
During the age before this where magic and fantasy reigned, the "Old Gods" apparently were believed to have more Gods amongst them than the humans wanted to worship, and as such, many crushed the faith of these false gods. As well as the main gods from the Old Gods, the extra Gods include Melora, Goddess of Nature, Corellon, God of Fey and Magic, Moradin, God of Cyclan and Creation, Sehanine, Goddess of Moonlight and Seasons, and Bahamut, God of Good Dragons and Dragons. Many of these Gods have specific faiths about them, however most who worship them, at least respect or believe that there are other gods in the pantheon.

    Legal
    The Old Gods
During the early ages, humans took to worshipping a specific set of Gods, especially after they began slaughtering the Fey, pushing away the others of the pantheon in order to follow the most humanoid gods of them all. These Gods are still worshipped today and are highly respected within Arstovikstan and the Amun Empire especially, who are more in tune with their old faiths and old ways, worshipping with loyalty and honour to these guiding Gods, even if they have spurned the old way and some of the other Gods. The Gods within this pantheon include Avandra, Goddess of Trade and Adventure, Pelor, God of the Light, Sarenrae, Goddess of Life, Ioun, Goddess of Knowledge, Erathis, God of Law, and Kord, God of Strength.

    Medusa
It is said that when the first three Great Houses met to forge the Blackseed Empire, a great, powerful Goddess with snakes for hair, and beauty like no other appeared before them just as their many tribalistic enemies rallied against them. The Goddess then turned their enemies to stone in order to then save these three houses to forge the Blackseed Empire. To this day Medusa, as she was named, has been the main Goddess of the Empire, guiding them through their struggles and lapses in faith or judgement. She is an extremely widespread faith indeed, and it is law to have at least one church of her faith in every major city that is ran by the Empire. She is known as the Goddess of Fairness and Punishment amongst all who know her.

    Bane
Within Boulangié and the many colonies set up by the country, the one god that is most respected is that of Bane, God of War, Conquest, and Slavery to some, but to the people of Boulangié, he is the God of Protection, Strength, and Dominance. While to many nations that are not within the Blackseed Empire this is an evil God (and to some of the nations within it as well), within Boulangié it is not, and is highly respected, with almost every town, and the city having a devoted chapel to his glory. Is it any surprise that this part of the Empire is so ingrained with slavery then, due to their god?

    Zehir
Within some of the darker parts of the Blackseed Empire, Zehir is known as the Goddess of Poison, Darkness, Trickery, Assassins, and Spies. For years it was illegal within the Empire for obvious reasons, however the small isle where this snake god was first discovered was recently merged with Gorgania, and as such, the Assassins Guild that ruled the island of "Bathid" was secretly placed into the service of the Emperor as "Scurgers", his personal spies and assassins. This Goddess is also known to be the daughter of Medusa herself, so the Emperor gave her a chance in worshipping her too. The Goddess herself was then named legal, though is known to the non-devout as the Goddess of Jokes, Secrets, and Trickery, and nothing more, though some have their suspicions.

    Angelica
Within both Tierraverano and Rimyichte the goddess Angelica has guided their people in their crafts, and in their ways of forging peace and making beauty. She is so ingrained within their populace that if you were to remove it from them that they would most likely rebel. As such it is obviously legal within the Blackseed Empire due to this fact, and due to its helpful ways within the realm. It is also worshipped elsewhere, due to the sheer fact that Angles are known in all faiths as good beings as it is. This entire religion is renowned around the world as the most accepted in the world.

    Thunky Thunk and Bonkity Bonk
Despite this being the main faith for the Ogrim race, this is the only one accepted of those sorts of faiths, due to the sheer fact it seems so stupid that there is no point in really getting rid of it. Of course, the Ogrim that follow it believe that Thunky Thunk and Bonkity Bonk are the two trolls in the sky who, one day, hit one another and spawned the world and all of the Ogrim on it, and all of the other races were accidentally created due to this. Thunky Thunk is the God of Bonking and Bonkity Bonk is the God of Thunking in this faith too. Do you see what I mean?

    Occupation:
    Blacksmith and seamstress
    Appearance:
Addy is an athletically built woman, standing at 5 feet and 8 inches most her height is derived from her legs, long and powerful. Her hair is a warm, burnished gold that falls in waves down to her lower back and frames her keen, angular features. From beneath the waves of thick hair, her hazel eyes grab all attention set against her tanned and freckled complexion, giving her a uniquely pleasing appearance. Despite modern expectations and conventions for women, Adeline is visually inclined towards more laborious occupations, with broader shoulders and slightly crooked posture, clearly from years of working over an anvil with a hammer in hand. From such, her skin is decorated with a myriad of scars, bruises and burns, dirt and grime ingrained into her skin. Despite all this, Adeline cleans up very well when she invests time and effort into such, though it is rare to see her dolled up, much to her families distaste.

    Backstory:
The first born daughter, Addy was raised in a loving and protective environment, having a close bond with her parents and even more so with her siblings, specifically her brothers. At a young age, her mother taught her how to sew, draw and paint among many other things she took a great liking to. Her early childhood was uneventful though her first courtship threw a spanner into the works, the man she was with being manipulative, abusive and harsh towards her. The courtship lasted barely a year though left a lasting mark on her psyche. Her mother was extremely supportive and helped her through it. When her mother passed, Addy began to lean heavily on her brothers and even more so the bottle, the death birthing a harsher nature inside her, resulting in her craving and lust for weaponry, especially crafting it. This became her every day life until recently, when she finally started travelling about the city and exploring her new life.

"Perhaps Mother knew more than she led on."

    Name: Magnus Daedelus
    Age: 30
    Gender: Male
    Familial Status: Firstborn son
Occupation: Witch hunter & Magic Practitioner
Appearance: With slightly peppered hair from years of hunting magic practitioners like himself, the oldest son of House Daedelus stands at five foot eleven inches. His left ear is gone, having lost it soon after joining the Witch hunters in a battle against a magic user. He has short-length hair and a full, onyx black beard. He wears mostly black garb as to blend into the darkness in which he hunts for the users of the Arcane, as well as a collar around his neck, that looks eerily similar to the ones Witch Hunters use to restrict magic.
    Equipment:

    Pouch of bullets
    Six-shooter
    Steel rapier
    Chainmail vest
    Magic "Notes" with various spells
    Collar
    Skills:
    Pistoleer
    Rapier Duelist
    Proficient in light armor
    Speed
    Weaknesses:
    Low strength
    Cruel
Loss of hearing on left side
    Backstory:
From a young age, Magnus' magical powers manifested. Under the guidance of a family friend, Magnus, for the most part, managed to keep his magic to himself, learning how to temporarily mask it entirely. Around his fifteenth birthday, he watched as Witch Hunters arrested the family friend and collared him, cutting off The Flow from him. Magnus decided that day that he'd join the Witch Hunters, both as a better cover-up and as a way to serve the Empire. Fourteen years later, Magnus was in the right place at the right time, and saved the Emperor himself from certain death at the hands of a revolutionary Magi.
    Strange Sightings:
While in the Castle, receiving honors for saving the Emperor, the Emperor whispered for him to keep his eyes open.
When he was returning home from a mission, a mage threw himself onto the road before his horse and begged the Witch Hunter to take him, saying that the Hunters had a better chance.
Just today, he thought he saw the color of his father's blood go from red to black.
    Special abilities:
    He saved the Emperor.
    Cognitokinesis (Control of thoughts)

    @notjayp @Ailethi @TinySnowcloud BIGGER REEE

The midnight sky was clouded in shadow. A storm had arrived mid way through your meal, just as the clock struck 10. The wind was audible through your ornate windows, and the tapping of the large tree in your courtyard against it was audibly annoying...and slightly eerie, as if someone them self was taping against it, begging to be let in from the storm. The first course of meal was brought in for those present, a fine stew made from rabbit, carrot, and a tomato sauce. Fine food, nothing like what you had when you were commoners. The smell itself was a glory to your nostrils as you each began tucking in, with the servants that had not headed to bed, or back home to the city standing at the sides waiting patiently to deliver the next course. Though the tapping continued, and the whisperings of freezing cold air could still be felt despite the warmth of the soup as it travelled down your throat, warming the cockles and the soul.

Nathan Daedlus gently ate at the table, his mind being on the thought of his father's well being. He was worried for him. However, he worked on it to not show.

Hoisting her coat further up her shoulders, Addie flattened the collar against the back of her neck before reaching for her cutlery once more. Bringing the soup to her lips she brushed her hair out of her face, eyeing her brothers silently before leaning back in her chair with a guttural sigh. "How do you find it? Dinner, I mean."

She hummed, concern and distaste lacing her tone as her hazel gaze wandered over the table, landing on her brothers face.

"My mind is normally on different things, being sure that we're all safe that is. I guess you can say that I have been seeing things on the street, I'm sure that it is just me seeing things.. but they appear to be abnormal, sister." He gave a worried look to his sister, Nathan was not one to be worried like he was at the moment.

She nodded, withdrawing her hand after a final squeeze and returning to her dinner. "As am I. Admittedly, I have seen peculiar things as of late, especially today. Perhaps I am weary though this all is impeccably timed..."

The kitchen was well adorned with cutlery and a large assortment of cooking utensils, and cooking areas, constantly cooking up new meals for everyone. The few servants who remained were working away at he food, or were simply plugging holes in the rooftop, placing buckets beneath the leaks of the rain. Though you didn't notice this large place...all you did was sit quietly, drinking a lukewarm soup provided to all the servant staff. @CaptainRandom97
There was a light rumble of thunder as one of the servants rushed in and through the building to talk with one of the other servants who had been leading your father upstairs. They communicated for a brief second, before shuffling off back toward the kitchens again. @BRBKing @Heaven_of_ash @MrFluff1

The young man went to raise a large eyebrow, not sure what to say but whisper to his sister. "Something isn't right.. something very not right. I will be getting my weapons, just in case."

As he sat eating he felt water hit the cobblestone floor. He kicked a bucket over with ease to catch it while still eating. He was listening to the conversation in the room next door.

She nodded somewhat, finishing her meal before leaning over to respond in hushed tone. "A wise decision."

He'd nod to his sister, going to gently stand up and head to his room. He'd gather his armor and sword and return to the dining room afterwards.

He stood and walked into the dining room once Nathan was gone, “So you both feel it too?” He said moving towards where Adeline was.
