Nikolaas holds a strong Anglian accent when speaking in this language, speaking with his chest, even. 〚✙|═══»❂«═══|✙〛 Great Force I [ Strength Training ] If at any point within 7 blocks of the user heavy objects are falling (for example, a collapsing roof or beam, or a large boulder) the character can brace the falling objects and hold them up long enough for nearby others to escape or not be harmed, and also create an escape for themselves. This Ability cannot be used for any Combat advantage. Hunt Sense I [ Racial ] The Character has permanent Night-Vision in dark or night-time locations, thus being able to see through Mundane Darkness, but not Ability based Darkness. Additionally, if the Character has tasted or smelled freshly drawn blood of an individual within the last 30 minutes, are able to track their location wherever they are in Regalia proper. If the target leaves to a Clandestine Base or Noble Estate however, the tracking ends. While tracking, it's not allowed to use fast travel or sprint, the distance must be walked. Wall Climb IV [ Racial ] The user can climb up or down any vertical surface with walking speed, and hold onto the wall with one hand stopping and resuming at any spot. The movement can only be directly up or down, not diagonal or sideways. This Ability does not grant any lethal falling damage mitigation, though it is possible for climbers to jump from a suspended position halfway up the wall. Nature's Gift I [ Racial ] While outside the City, thus nowhere near conventional rental housing, the Character moves “as fast as an Asha” (thus giving the Character Asha Agility). This Ability ceases the moment the Character returns to the urban landscape. Heavy Shot [ Heavy Ranged ] Heavy Shot is the default Projectile attack for a Heavy Ranged Combat user. This simply involves shooting a ranged weapon at a target that is not behind cover. Each shot has a 1 minute cooldown and if hit, creates the equivalent of a deep gash like a sword hit would, or a piercing wound in case the enemy is wearing armor. For each shot, the User must do a “/dice 0 20”, with any roll above 5 causing a hit to land. Knocking Shot [ Heavy Ranged ] The User shoots a heavy pound arrow, an arrow with a lot of weight and force behind it, but more kinetic than piercing damage. This shot damages about as much as a stab of a dagger does, but forces the target to be knocked back by 6 blocks into the opposite direction of the User, or until they hit a solid object, which then causes blunt damage but does not Stun them. This Technique has a 3 minute cooldown. This Technique is a guaranteed hit. Voluism [ Genetics ] A Character with Voluism can be up to 1 foot and 2 inches taller than their Racial maximum. Voluism also alters their proportions to be closer to an Ailor's. For example, a Nelfin's lithe body frame would become more average, with larger bones, while an Eronidas would become slimmer and lankier. Characters with Voluism are not bound to any Racially imposed Body Shape or Body Fat limit. However, they are no longer able to dodge or side-step Mundane or Ability-based projectiles, and have a permanent -5 Physical Stat penalty for being clumsy and clunky. His face is covered in sunspots and freckles scattered around, accompanying scars that slide on the skin of his cheekbones and eyebrow. His ears are decently sized and even pierced, having studded earring in on occasion. Upturned eyes with the almond shape, mirroring a brown color that could be compared to wood. His hair falls naturally in curls that messily spin up at his head in a black sheen, quick to be flicked at and rarely slicked back. The sides tended while not completely shaved down, but kept neat for simplicity. [ Face Claim | Bob Morley ] Body | With military background and continuous training, Nikolaas has been strict on himself with keeping healthy. As most Anglian men, his body is burly and bulky, from years of service and plainly genetics, he is satisfied with his appearance. Standing at a solid 6’8, his build only makes him wider. From working continuously in the farms, the Ailor’s skin has become tanned and spotted with freckles and furthermore scars and calloused hands. Along with keeping himself looking clean, Nikolaas has yet to allow himself to grow out his facial hair, preferring the clean shaved look. His other body hair is kept to the same standard with trimming and so forth. From his travels, Nikolaas wears multiple tattoos on his arms, back, and chest. Under most of these tattoos is brittle and uneven skin, scars and the load, some are ruined due to injuries over the ink. Fashion | Becoming a simple himbo in the fashion sense, Nikolaas usually leaves the dressing to the maids or his friends. A bit shy on the subject of not being the best, otherwise, he knows his colors and enjoys jewelry for himself or others. For otherwise hunting, that's his own section of blacks and browns and boots, geared with his bow and dagger. To yet follow through with arming himself in the city just yet, Nikolaas would primarily carry around a sword and scabbard on his hip. Voice | To match his appearance, Nikolaas’ voice is very deep and could be described as coarse. A scratch to it with each word, that has come naturally even with hot tea. His laughs match this and even screams with a low octave, there are a few bundles of words that could be shortened, for instance, “you all” is simply “y’all” save for the conversation in front of people he is not comfortable with. A mistake he will make often, and usually correct himself over. Not one for the expansion of personal knowledge, Nikolaas only knows his native language, Anglian, and Common. As the first born, Nikolaas had been set to many expectations at a young age. Although, the first few years were spent annoyingly insisting to help his father in the agriculture and falling to the motherly affection of his mother. Among the lands and home of his family, Nikolaas was fond of sneaking through the forest to watch among the flora and fauna nature had to offer and found a forever admiration for it. Starting to read and write, Nikolaas got to his studies, unknowingly eager to please the people around him. The standards were high, but his yearning for validation was more. More so, he started to dwell in the education of Unionism, becoming familiar and well versed in the values. When of age, Nikolaas finally was able to learn the ways of the bow and sword. While the lessons of archery came first, no one could deny the begging boy in his fascination for combat. Admittedly, Nikolaas found little hobbies to pick up that stuck to him throughout his years of life. Assigned with no doubt was dancing, after that pottery, and lastly painting. True to his word to impress, fashionably showing off his designs and masterpieces to the servants and his mother. Walking towards adolescence, Nikolaas was now well insured with the practice of Horticulture, Gardening, Archery, Swordsmanship, and proper etiquette to being a fine man. In himself, standing out like a sore thumb against the white wall, the boy was riddled with freckles and dark, shaggy hair with hazel eyes. Even if it couldn’t get deeper, his growth was not stunted to the least, standing above the fellow male classes. Adolescence Starting to truly develop into his physique, Nikolaas was a healthy and muscular teenage boy. Spending most of his days out in the fields, lifting weights, hunting, or in the library. With the commanding hand of his mother hoping to send him off to see new things, Nikolaas was lifted onto the first ride to Nordskag and even sooner for the Skole Militair Nordskag at his first arrival. The young man came to terms with the Velheim, and even befriended many despite his softer approach to life. With the three years of schooling off, within those, Nikolaas adopted personal changes such as religion outlooks and physical appearance, becoming more and more matured and growing into his features. Arriving back home, Nikolaas returned to his previous duties as a young man on the fields. A new hobby was running with the local town men that would group up and assist each other in reaching new goals of extending their athletic ventures. Nikolaas made sure to keep in touch with all family, even if distant, and even more if they didn’t answer. He sent letters every two to three weeks updating them on his contentment and offered to listen to any hardships, or happiness. Growing and growing, Nikolaas surprised his mother with his outgrown stature. More so, it came in handy when chasing the smaller children around in playful games with each other. Not even a few months after his return, Nikolaas was off on a ride to the middle east to fight alongside soldiers in the Hadravian war. He spent months in military camps, training and learning tactics he’d never even think of. It’s also the place he finally learned to pick up a shield. Adulthood After the war, Nikolaas did not return home. He spent his days in Farah’deen for the next two years, continuing his training and exploring the new adventures the land had to offer. He made many friends, expanded his horizon, and became more confident in his ability. Finally, there was some more time to serve, becoming another face in the thousands in the Second Songaskian War. He fought alongside many, and gained many scars. Even forgetting the old hobbies he would have discovered back home. Once it was all over with, Nikolaas decided to say goodbye to his retreat, and return home. He was welcomed with smiles and hugs, and somehow took it all as bittersweet. Nostalgia kicked in, even if he had been gone for years, it felt like home. Nikolaas spent his time in limbo, peace even, but it was hard to tell with the haunting horrors of war. He finally picked back up his place in the fields as a pastime, enjoying the sunburn and roughened callouses that formed on his hands when he worked just hard enough. He did this for two years, and with the awakening of the Dread War, he had no choice but to follow his gut to battle. Packing his things up with a kiss goodbye, he was off for duty. Months and months of continuous battle, it was one that put him in for a real loop. All the things he saw and endured, finally coming to a standing when it was all over. He did not stay this time, and returned to Vlissinghelm in the arms of his family. And for a while, it was like this. Calmness that never seemed to go too quick. There were a few bumps in the road such as a few mild heartbreaks, frustrating studies, and sleepless nights. Although, with the year 309 rolling around, he could only watch from afar as a lone wolf branched from the family. Haeddi, now van Hal. After some internal battle, he decided to follow, even with his mothers yelling refusal. He left on good terms and promised to write, as a new man, Nikolaas van Hal. It wasn’t too long of a trek, but Nikolaas finally made it to Westerhal. All the beautiful sights and promoted culture was a true change for him. For the next few months, he spent time in an inn, keeping his room with work as a bartender and laborer for the nearby street stalls by moving products. He sent word to Haeddi and they stayed in touch for that time. As of June 309 AC, Nikolaas finally decided to set heart for the City of Light. Jumping on the first boat and watching the waves disappear under the water on his way there.
@Volaie While everything else seems to be check, there's one minor issue that needs to be fixed before I can approve. Currently, your proficiency set utilizes the old mechanic of racial boosts, which was if you invest five, you received five as a boost. This unfortunately isn't the case anymore however, as now with the exception of Talent proficiencies, you need to invest ten points in to receive the +5 boost. Sort this out, toss me a tag, and I can approve the application.
@Lumiess Done! Took away the five into Horticulture and saw my core/hobby/racial showings were messed up by my tweaking's, so I cleaned that up too. Let me know if there's anything else I need to fix. Special Abilities were changed accordingly.
